This video mentioned Desi breaking character in the Staten island episode. I think the worst example of that is in "Lucy does a television commercial". When he entered the studio and sees Lucy there doing the commercial, he can barely keep his face straight. And there are also a few episodes where you can hear him laughing from backstage. He even laughs with an accent!

I never noticed these particular bloopers but in other episodes and TV shows I do see the boom mic a lot of the times, or the shadow of another camera as it rolled over to another shot. Thanks Rick!

Great new info. Two of my favorite episodes: Ricky Asks For a Raise-the costumes and Fred's drag scenes are superb, ingenious! Lucy Gets a Paris Gown(Cher's mother, a friend of Lucy, is in this episode as one of Jacque's models).
That is so interesting that Cher's mother is one of Jacque's models. When I saw The Cher Show on Broadway a few months ago, Cher's character delivers a line of advice from Lucille Ball to Cher and says that was a conversation Cher and Lucille Ball actually had. Very cool women!
In terms of the Mertz's phone number, I believe we can just chalk that up to a disregard to continuity, since most TV producers back then didn't think in terms of reruns or home entertainment releases, so nobody really cared about continuity back in those days.

When I was growing up in the 1970s, one of the digits of my phone number was changed from a 1 to something else for technical reasons. If Ricky was served by an exchange that allowed 5-digit direct dialing but required an operator for anything else, and the exchange added support for direct-dialed long distance, an exchange ending in "1" would no longer work. I doubt the creators of the show were putting in the change for the sake of realism, but I wouldn't regard that kind of change as unrealistic.
Hi there: Didn't notice bloopers. Hoeever, I liked the Paris episode. I loved the outfits Ricky & Fred designed out of potato sacks. I did feel the outfits were fashionable before I saw the twist ending!! Loved it!

I just wanted to point out a blooper that I noticed years ago on "Ricky Asks For A Raise": When Lucy, Ethel and Fred disguise themselves as patrons at the club, keep your eyes on Fred as he exits with the girls towards the beginning; although he is dressed as a man, he is purposely and erroneously bumping his butt side to side because he later does the same thing, as was intended, because he was then disguised as a woman.
I always thought he was portraying a rich old man with a touch of gouty arthritis. It was a very common ailment back then among the rich that overindukged on rich foods.

"Staten Island Ferry"is tops for me.Lucy and Frawley work very well together. No where in the entire series except with Lucy and another does Fred and Frawley show genuine care concern and some love. You forgot one of the best bloopers. The episode that Lucy and Ethel add wallpaper to the apartment . There is a part where you can see Fred waiting in the hall way pass the door waiting for his part to come in from “outside” you briefly see him in the background . There a minute or so then he comes in as if not knowing what is going on ... I got happy when I saw this blooper or mistake .

I've watched I Love Lucy for more than 50 years and I noted all the different phone numbers. For a long time I wondered why, but then I heard the reason. I think it had something to do with people really trying to call the numbers so they kept changing them. Not sure about that, though. Loved that show. I have a collection of Lucy paraphernalia. It has always been my favorite show.

Lucy gets jealous, commanders a painter scaffold and spies on Ricky when he is in Grace Foster's apartment since she works for a jewelry company and brought some examples for Ricky to choose from. Here is the blooper. Well two really. Lucy ends up all covered in paint but Ricky confesses his plot and puts a string of pearls around her neck. Now 1. Lucy is absolutely covered in paint. Nice way to ruin the pearl strand. Now 2. Watch the pearls. As Lucy is frantically hugging Ricky and happy over her gift. You'll see the strand break and fall off her neck. Cheap prop even by Lucy standards. Rick see if you can spot it.
Yes, I always thought it was unrealistic for Ricky to put a pearl necklace around Lucy's neck when she is covered with wet paint, and she didn't seem to be bothered by that fact, either.
Hey Rick, regarding the “Little Ricky Learns To Play The Drums” episode, did you ever notice that the original sound of the snare that Little Ricky plays when he first sees the drum changes drastically during the following scenes where Ricky, Lucy, Ethel and Fred react rhythmically to the droning sound? Clearly Little Ricky is not playing the snare throughout all the following scenes but rather the orchestra drummer is.
Hey Rick, have you ever thought of doing a leave it to beaver blooper? I don't know if you have ever watched it, but your so good with these other shows, it's just a thought.
I now want to watch the episodes again to see the bloopers as they play out. I take a lot of photos so I am careful that the shadow of my hand not be in the shot, but the bottom of Ricky's bed with the shadow! I never would have noticed. Just makes me love the show even more.

Regarding the band members in Tennessee... Marco, the piano player, was also the piano player when Van Johnson and Lucy rehearsed in Hollywood. So Marco also must have been on the same plane to Hollywood. And regarding the Paris gowns... one of Jacques Marcel's models was played by Georgia Holt... Cher's mother.
I love it when Rickie breaks character and starts to laugh - usually with Fred, sometimes with Lucy. Part of the charm.

Hey Rick, regarding the “Little Ricky Learns To Play The Drums” episode, did you ever notice that the original sound of the snare that Little Ricky plays when he first sees the drum changes drastically during the following scenes where Ricky, Lucy, Ethel and Fred react rhythmically to the droning sound? Clearly Little Ricky is not playing the snare throughout all the following scenes but rather the orchestra drummer is.

I now want to watch the episodes again to see the bloopers as they play out. I take a lot of photos so I am careful that the shadow of my hand not be in the shot, but the bottom of Ricky's bed with the shadow! I never would have noticed. Just makes me love the show even more.
I liked Tennessee bound I also like Ricky ask for a raise because of gale Gordon who was also Lucy boss in the Lucy show another favorite of mine
...Gale Gordon was Lucy's co-star when Lucy had a radio show in the 1940's, he played a character very similar to Mr. Moonie...

Regarding the band members in Tennessee... Marco, the piano player, was also the piano player when Van Johnson and Lucy rehearsed in Hollywood. So Marco also must have been on the same plane to Hollywood. And regarding the Paris gowns... one of Jacques Marcel's models was played by Georgia Holt... Cher's mother.
