My childhood was very traumatic & watching " I Love Lucy " gave me a feeling of calm & security. Thanks for the uploads & bloopers & info on cameos !!!!
So sorry you had a traumatic experience growing up they say it stunts ones growth which I truly don't know your circumstances however, I hope you found your way through and that you do not suffer from extreme anxiety aka acute anxiety attacks which usually occur around ones 30's and even with counseling can remain in ones life depending on again, how traumatic ! Most of the 50's onward helped many with escape from horrific childhoods blessings to you & yours ♥️
That episode when Lucy thought that the neighbors were spies was one of my favorites. It was so funny. Especially when Lucy disguised herself as a chair! 🤣😂
Thanks for these videos. I'm the same age as Desi Jr. I grew up in the 60s. Lucy and Ricky, Fred and Ethel were part of our existence. My summers were spent watching them "out in the country" on the reruns of "The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour". Good thing Desi Arnaz created reruns! My favorite cameo episode of " I Love Lucy" was when Harpo Marx appeared. He played "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" on his harp. I wanted a harp so bad after that. Mom said no, so I got a guitar. Anyway, thanks for all this cool info that brings back memories for people my age and allows the younger generations to know and learn about the pioneers of television! Thank you!
In the episode of 'Off to Florida" Lucy and Ethel get a ride with a woman they think is an ax murderer. She is played by Elsa Lanchester who was in many films, including The Bride of Frankenstein.
I Love Lucy is a family tradition, from my Grandma to my Mother and of course me. Now my son enjoys watching I Love Lucy. He even bought me the DVDs for my birthday so we can watch it together.
Long-time, dedicated I Love Lucy fan here. Enjoy your videos. Gale Gordon also played the high school principal, Mr. Conklin, on the show, Our Miss Brooks. Verna Felton also played a role in the comedy, I Married Joan, which also featured Jim Backus.
In "Country Club Dance" Barbara Eden wore two dresses: a white one for evening #1 at the country club, and a black dress for evening #2 the very next night (when Lucy, Ethel, and Betty try to outshine her). The publicity photo you mention merely shows Barbara in dress #2 and was not actually an error. I, too, enjoyed this episode, particularly when Lucy first shows Ricky and the others her new....and very tight....dress. She's standing next to the couch, slides to the floor, and then almost magically uprights herself again to a full standing position, all in one seamless motion. It was both comedic and acrobatic. Outstanding professionalism!
One of my favorite episodes. Lucy was hysterical in that tight dress 👗. And the way she imitated Diana (Barbara Eden's character). Barbara Eden was so young then.
We love you, thank you for these. My parents are from Italy and my Mom, who's name is also Lucille (Lucia in Italian), learned how to speak English from watching I Love Lucy.
My mother from Greece didn't need to understand English to understand Lucille Ball and Carol Burnett because of the animated faces they made. My mother couldn't stop laughing.
Interesting collection, but I wouldn't call any of these "cameos" - they're really guest stars or extras. A "cameo" normally refers to someone playing him/herself, such as William Holden in the ILL restaurant episode or Charles Boyer in the Paris episode. But thanks for the memories!
I want to see more of the actor who played Mario in the pizza episode, Mr Meriweather in the seance episode, and and the tenant who witnessed a murder. His son played Father Guido Sarducci on SNL.
Richard Crenna revised that role from the radio show, My Favorite Husband, which has the nearly same identical script as the I Love Lucy episode. Of course, My Favorite Husband was kind of like the radio version of I Love Lucy (without Ricky or the Mertzes). My Favorite Husband also starred Gale Gordon who was supposed to play Fred Mertz, but went on to be Ricky's boss at the Tropicana and then later most famously as Mr. Mooney on Lucy's following TV show. Rich Crenna, or 'Dick' as he was known as, was a regular cast member on the radio show, Our Miss Brooks, which starred Eve Arden (later starred as the principal in the 1978 movie, Grease) and again, Gale Gordon. It was because of Our Miss Brooks that Gale could not appear on I Love Lucy. One final related trivia: If you watch the 1988 Tom Hanks movie, The 'burbs, Gale Gordon plays the old man, Walter. When the neighbors break into his house, look on his TV set and you will see several framed photos of Gale and Lucy as sort of an Easter egg.
I AM 66 AND SHE STILL MAKES ME LAUGH. I HAVE SEEN EACH EPISODE SO MANY TIMES, AND A FEW YEARS AGO TRAVELLED TO JAMESTOWN TO CELEBRATE HER BIRTHDAY AND ENJOY THE FESTIVAL. SUCH FOND MEMORIES.
Also in the episode with Edward Everett Horton there was Miss Lewis played by Bea Benaderet who is well known for her roles in Burns and Allen and Petticoat Junction
Eleanor Audley also appeared on Green Acres as Oliver's (Eddie Albert) mother in several episodes even though in real life they were about the same age.
Barbara Pepper had numerous appearances on I ❤️ Lucy. She was also on the Jack Benny Show and the Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet, but is probably best remembered as Doris Ziffel on Green Acres.
Barbara pepper started as a beautiful actress along with Lucy which is how they met. Unfortunately Barbara fell on hard times and to console herself began to drink heavily. She began to gain weight and was no longer an ingenue. Lucy wanted her to play Ethyl but the higher ups were cautious because of her alcoholism. Lucy working with Gale Gordon on radio wanted him as Fred but he couldn't because of pryor commitments. They also were reluctant to hire William frawley because of his alcoholism but did so
I really enjoyed your video, however, there were 2 more cameos among the episodes featured. In " The Young Lovers" Richard Crenna's original love interest was Janet Waldo, the voice of Judy Jetson. In " Lucy Plays Cupid, Bea Benaderet who played Kate Bradley on Petticoat Junction, and was the original voice of Betty Rubble, also appeared.
You missed Mary Wickes. She was the ballet teacher in the episode " Ballet" ( S1 Ep 19). As well as as a VERY extensive movie career and appearances on tv shows she appeared in 8 episodes of Lucy Show , 9 episodes of Here's Lucy and finally the 1977 tv movie with Lucille Ball " Lucy Calls The President". Sadly she never appeared on Life With Lucy.
"New Neighbors" is one of my favorite episodes! Hayden Rourke is great in it! I was amazed when I first saw him in it. I recognized him from "I Dream of Jeannie" right away! I was amazed to learn that the boy in "The Young Fans" was Richard Crenna from the "Rocky" movies! He was also on "Our Miss Brooks." "Lucy Plays Cupid" isn't exactly one of my favorite episodes (although the ending was sweet), but Edward Everett Horton was great in the Fred Astaire / Ginger Rogers movie "Top Hat"! Horton was my favorite character in that movie! Fantastic character actor! "The Charm School" is one of my favorite episodes! Natalie Schaefer is just great, and I love 1950's clothes! Great dresses!
Thank you for the video. Peggy Rea made a cameo on "No children allowed" and "Lucy the matchmaker." She later appeared on such shows as The Waltons, All in the Family, The Golden Girls.
I love your videos. I never realized there were so many voice-over actors involved with this show. There were two more that I can think of as well. On The Young Fans episode that you featured here, the role of Peggy was played by the actress who voiced Judy Jetson. In a later episode, Charlie Appleby was played by the actor who voiced George Jetson. I could be wrong as my research is based totally on my ears.
You aren't wrong. Janet Waldo was very popular. Watch the credits on The Jetsons her name in the credits are very large. Also Janet Waldo had a small part in an episode of "The Lucy Show." She plays Lucy's kid sister (b&w). Her and her fiancee ran away because the 2 just wanted to become married, weren't interested in a big reception...but then Lucy & Viv end up doing the same thing The 2 the n leave Lucy's home to elope.
Verna Felton was also in Disney's Sleeping Beauty as the good fairy, Flora, Lady and The Tramp as Aunt Sarah, and one of the elephants in Jungle Book. I believe it was a total of five Disney films.
Richard Crenna, in the same year as this Lucy episode, began playing high school student, Walter Denton, on the Our Miss Brooks show. He was in the English class of Constance Brooks played by Eve Arden.
Aaron Spelling was definitely the most shocking when i found out about it a few years ago. And its always fun seeing the writers and such in front of the camera. Thanks for the video. Barbara Eden was the most fun to see too.
Strother Martin, Dub Taylor, K T Stevens and Allen Jenkins among others have also appeared in episodes of I Love Lucy. I forgot to mention Strother Martin who played the soda jerk in Florida when Lucy and Ethel were hitchhiking with Mrs Grundy (Elsa Lanchester) to meet Ricky and Fred!
Oh my gosh, I never saw the Edward Horton and Gloria Blondell episodes! Wow. I know i missed a few. Oh my gosh, I never knew that was Aaron Spelling, he's hysterical in the episode.Great video, a lot of information. Barbara Eden was adorable. I don't remember her episode either. I need to do a big I Love Lucy marathon.
Rick does a fantastic job presenting all this information. I thought I knew everything about Lucille Ball, but I am still learning, thanks to Rick. Always happy to learn more.
And in the photo you showed, Lucy is wearing the dress she wore the second night when she is trying to compete with Diana. Lucy is a knock-out in that dress.
Thx for that tidbit of info about Gloria (Joan Blondell's sister) ...was waiting for & wondering if Rick wld make mention of but he never went down that road...maybe he wasn't aware.
Great Follow-up to the 5 cameos. If some of the actors doing cameos on "Lucy" might have not been recognizable without thinking, just about everyone would have immediately known Richard Crenna since by 1952 he had been playing Walter Denton on "Our Miss Brooks" on radio for years with that trademark squeaky voice. Later in 1952 that show would be transferred to TV. That voice really was unmistakable. One other thing - at the end of this video I was glad to see that you've done something on Frank Nelson as well. He was one of the great comic actors on TV in the 1950s. Probably one of the most memorable too. One last thing - from the excerpts on this video, it seems clear that even after 60 years, there are many episodes that don't appear in rerun very often. At least I haven't seen them. Now I've got to track them down. Thanks Nick.
When Lucy and the gang returned to the country club the next time all dolled up to "show up" B. Eden, that is when Eden wore the black dress. Eden was shown on two different "occasions." Just to remind you! Your videos are absolutely fantastic, by the way! I'm so much enjoying them. More, please!
My childhood was very traumatic & watching " I Love Lucy " gave me a feeling of calm & security. Thanks for the uploads & bloopers & info on cameos !!!!
+Pam Hamilton sorry to hear about your past but very happy to hear things are better now and that you enjoyed the video!
Pam Hamilton yes me too
it was a source of comfort and security.. still is
I share your pain, I too found a feeling of calm and security during my traumatic childhood.
We all know what I Love Lucy meant..."sick" at home from school watching reruns at 9:30 AM.
3:00 Grew up liking Edward Everett Horton who narrated Fractured Fairy Tales on Rocky y Bullwinkle
I remember Elenor Audley played as Oliver Wendell Douglas's mom on Green Acres...another one of my favorites
+JoanM TheAntoineFan Well, maybe you can buy a harp now
I think harps are now a list art. It's kind of sad...
In the episode of 'Off to Florida" Lucy and Ethel get a ride with a woman they think is an ax murderer. She is played by Elsa Lanchester who was in many films, including The Bride of Frankenstein.
+Buzzy'sHelper you are correct! Scarybride driving them down to Florida
rick nineg Notice how GRAY her hair is?
Elsa Lanchester was also in one of the best Night Gallery episodes "Green Fingers". I just love her voice and accent!
Elsa Lanchester was also married to actor Charles Laughton.
One of my favorite episodes.
Paul Lynn, what an incredible actor!
He was the only reason I watched Hollywood Squares. He was great on Bewitched as Uncle Arthur. Very very funny man RIP Mr. Lynde
He was not on I L L...
I Love Lucy is a family tradition, from my Grandma to my Mother and of course me. Now my son enjoys watching I Love Lucy. He even bought me the DVDs for my birthday so we can watch it together.
Great work. I have been watching I Love Lucy pretty much everyday for 50 years.....
Thank you Rick ! AWESOME !!! Great insights for huge I Love Lucy fans, including me. Thanks again. YOU LOVE LUCY AS MUCH AS WE DO !!!
+Leeza Marie Thats very nice and kind of you! So glad you enjoy my Lucy content!

+Kenneth Bjorkmann she was an legend
There was another cameo in that episode: Frank Nelson. Better known for his time with Jack Benny.
Yeeeeeeeeeeees?
One of my favorite episodes. Lucy was hysterical in that tight dress 👗. And the way she imitated Diana (Barbara Eden's character). Barbara Eden was so young then.
My all time favorite Edward Horton role was the Head Psychiatrist at the Asylum in Frank Capra's "Arsenic and Old Lace:
Great actor!
Really enjoy your videos! Keep 'em coming!!
+Ric Ritenour Thanks so much! I appreciate your support.
Thank you. Great video..i did not know that Eleanor Audley and Verna Felton were both Disney characters. I love that. Thanks
This one was really a lot of fun. I'd love to see more cameos!
great videos. you forgot Tennessee Ernie Ford (Famous for the song 16 Tons) is in 2 episodes as well.
These videos are great! Keep them coming! Thanks!
Verna Felton also played Denise Day's mom on "The Jack Benny Program"....I love her grumpiness.
Dennis Day. Sorry pet peeve of mine.
Those were interesting! Especially the Aaron Spelling one and I consider myself a huge I Love Lucy fan!
It takes so much research to get info on these cameos and extras. No one is perfect. Thanks for these videos. Brings back alot of memories!
+Di Orozco I appreciate the support! Thank you!
INDEED
Another awesome video, and another thumbs up from me! Thanks Rick!
+Patrick O'Riley I appreciate that both, Patrick!
Richard Crenna was also known for playing Walter Denton on "Our Miss Brooks." Another Desilu production when it went from radio to tv.
Extraordinary. Really awesome video. Congratulations
Great job. Love all these guest stars.
Nancy Culp also had a recurring role as the police officer smiths mother on Sanford and Son
+Marcus ANT Adams And she was hilarious
In the vernacular, as it were. 🤓

Knew them all but Aaron Spelling and Bob Carroll Jr. thank you.

Keep em coming Rick....cause I STILL love Lucy after all these years. ..and I'm 52 last month...
+Bad bad Leroy Brown They take time to make but enjoy having the finished product. Thanks for the support!
rick nineg
It's my pleasure rick. ..this is one of the best channels on UA-cam...I've loved lucy for decades and always will...
I AM 66 AND SHE STILL MAKES ME LAUGH. I HAVE SEEN EACH EPISODE SO MANY TIMES, AND A FEW YEARS AGO TRAVELLED TO JAMESTOWN TO CELEBRATE HER BIRTHDAY AND ENJOY THE FESTIVAL. SUCH FOND MEMORIES.
Thx, Rick. Appreciate your thoroughness. You're awesome!
Rick. You do a great job, especially with I Love Lucy. Well done Rick.
Thank you so much!
Great job!!! Greetings from NYC keep doing it
+T Oribe Thanks so much for your support! So glad you liked it.
Also in the episode with Edward Everett Horton there was Miss Lewis played by Bea Benaderet who is well known for her roles in Burns and Allen and Petticoat Junction
A fabulous job, as always!
+Larry Gevirtz I appreciate that Larry!
Barbara Eden was/is gorgeous!
This was an uncredited role,of course. She's shown "smoking" (a fake cigarette,of course, since this actress doesn't smoke.)
OMG she was quite a beauty in this episode!! And of course in I Dream of Jeannie!!
Her magazine models look like Dixie Carter and Joyce DeWitt. Anyone else think so? (@13:00)
@Laura Streeter She's had sadness in her life, I believe she lost a baby & then her grown son died.
Tara E Girod amen
Nice video! Nicely arranged.
Eleanor Audley also appeared on Green Acres as Oliver's (Eddie Albert) mother in several episodes even though in real life they were about the same age.

Thanks. Will do.

Yes. Too many movies to mention
+backbaconnbeer Absolutely

Didn’t Natalie Schaefer play Mrs. Howe, the millionaire’s wife, on “Gilligan’s Island”?
Aaron Spelling one is great! 😱👍🙌
Did you know that Aaron Spelling's first wife was Carolyn Jones, aka Morticia Addams on the Addams Family?
+Kimberly Tyrcha Absolutely, you are correct! Pretty crazy huh?
this has been the best one for me. thanks and a great job. (y) :D
Thank you for the video. Peggy Rea made a cameo on "No children allowed" and "Lucy the matchmaker." She later appeared on such shows as The Waltons, All in the Family, The Golden Girls.
Lucy was offered a role on The Golden Girls bit felt the sexual jokes etc were too crude so turned the role down.
My favorite video of yours so far.. all the faces and names from all the great shows..
I thoroughly enjoyed this!
Thanks, Darrah! It was a labor or love so it makes me so happy to hear that!
Rick, this PHENOMENAL❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Biggest surprise is Bob Carrol, Jr. Never noticed.
Have a great Sunday 🌞🌞🌞

+Roxie Eyeleers Thanks for your support!
For a real treat watch "Go Chase Yourself". A funny movie starring Lucille Ball and Joe Penner (wanna buy a duck?).
Verna Felton was also in Disney's Sleeping Beauty as the good fairy, Flora, Lady and The Tramp as Aunt Sarah, and one of the elephants in Jungle Book. I believe it was a total of five Disney films.
Verna also played the voice of one of the mean elephants in the classic Disney film DUMBO
Again I enjoyed this so much, I grew up watching all these shows in the 1950's and 60's!
+stpete such memories right?
+stpete such memories right?
+stpete You are lucky to know the show. Some do not
Eleanor Audley was also featured on the Dick VanDyke show as Mrs. Billings, who tricked Rob Petry into producing the talent shows.
This one is from four years ago. What a bunch of lost time. You are so decent and good in your love of the oldies!!
It's surreal seeing Richard Crenna so young.
+Winter Steele Crazy huh?
Winter Steele I never knew that was him. He was s good actor. I’ll
Nancy Kulp was also in Sabrina
I have liked both your videos. My mom got me hooked on I Love Lucy.
Thank you Jennifer!!
Great cameo appearances!!! i totally enjoyed it!!!! job well done!!
+Waneta Wentz Thanks so much!
I love them all !!!! I'm old school so this is exciting !!!!! 🤗
great job as always!!
+Samiyo Thanks so much!
Barbara Eden simply takes your breath away.... ;o)
Richard Crenna, in the same year as this Lucy episode, began playing high school student, Walter Denton, on the Our Miss Brooks show. He was in the English class of Constance Brooks played by Eve Arden.
Thank you for this video. It helps me stay hopeful...stay well
You're great Rick !
+m1kcan1 haha, thanks!
Thank you Rick for the videos God bless you 💗 🙏 merry Christmas to everyone this season God bless every body 🙏 be good to one another 🙏
Aaron Spelling was definitely the most shocking when i found out about it a few years ago. And its always fun seeing the writers and such in front of the camera. Thanks for the video. Barbara Eden was the most fun to see too.
I absolutely LOVE seeing writers and production people in front of the screen. So awesome!
You tube
Strother Martin, Dub Taylor, K T Stevens and Allen Jenkins among others have also appeared in episodes of I Love Lucy. I forgot to mention Strother Martin who played the soda jerk in Florida when Lucy and Ethel were hitchhiking with Mrs Grundy (Elsa Lanchester) to meet Ricky and Fred!
Verna Felton was also the voice of Wilma's mother in "The Flintstones" and also played Dennis Day's mother in "The Jack Benny Program".
Verna Felton, the adorable and very lovable-- Mrs. Potts from the movie, " Picnic".
Jack Albertson also starred with Freddie Prinze from 1974 to 1978 in Chico and the Man.
+Voyagersguidebook So glad you learned something! Stay tuned as more is on the way!
Eleanor Audley also played Eunice Douglas, Oliver Wendell Douglas's mother on "Green Acres" and was featured in many of the early episodes.
Rick does a fantastic job presenting all this information. I thought I knew everything about Lucille Ball, but I am still learning, thanks to Rick. Always happy to learn more.
Thank you I had no idea of the cameos they always ad interest when watching to shows.
+Sandra Fraser Im so glad you enjoy my content Sandra
Wow I was blown away by this vid.. So many cameos I missed
I would have never known that was Richard Crenna! I’ve seen that episode 1,000 times. Thanks for the video, it was fun.
Richard Crenna was awesome
Yeah, I had no idea he had ever appeared on I Love Lucy. He was also completely unrecognizable.
He was SO handsome In real life you wouldn’t believe !!!!!
Thanks for this Rick. Love your clips. But you forgot some HUGE Aaron Spelling shows, but I guess there are sooo many.
Eleanor Audley was the in the episode where Lucy, Ethel, & Fred try to stop the sale of the house in Connecticut...
And Barbara Eden wears the black dress at the second party in the episode
+kari p Really? Id have to take a look and see for it myself. How did I miss that? Thanks for the info!
And in the photo you showed, Lucy is wearing the dress she wore the second night when she is trying to compete with Diana. Lucy is a knock-out in that dress.
+Jane Hankey Gotcha. Lucy looked great in anything she wore! Thanks for watching
Jane Hankey remember her sliding around the couch, and standing all night, then RRRRIIIPP! goes Lucy's dress! 😂😂😂
Correction - Verna Felton was not on I Married Joan; she played a role on December Bride.
Thanks Rick !
Thx for that tidbit of info about Gloria (Joan Blondell's sister) ...was waiting for & wondering if Rick wld make mention of but he never went down that road...maybe he wasn't aware.
Great Video,Janet Waldo was also in The young fans episode.
Georgia Holt, Chers mother, played a model in Lucy Goes to Paris, wearing the potato sack dress
Great video! Barbara Eden= YUMMY!
Great Follow-up to the 5 cameos. Oops. Sorry. Rick, not Nick!
+dp53 Plante No problem! I forget my own name from time to time haha
Had to jam to 90210's theme again, been a decade. Thanks for the throwback attack rick!
Wondered why you left Aaron's hit Charlie's Angels off the list of his production credits.
Plus the actress that played Lucy's mother was in Joan Crawford's movie The Damned Don't Cry.
And in Jane Fonda's "Period of Adjustment."
+Snapepet you are correct, they went back and she has that gorgeous black dress. She was a stunner. Thanks for the support!
Thanx for great video!!!!!
excellent video!
+Barbara Sharick I appreciate the support, Thanks!
Edward Everett Horton I will always remember as doing voice work on
" The Bullwinkle Show " during the Fractured Fairy Tales segments.
Just found your site! Subscribed.
+Jennifer Taylor Thanks so much!!
Judge Judy
Absolutely adore Everett Everett Horton
I love your keen insights. Keep it up!
+LimeVid2 I definitely will. Thanks for the support!
WOW! I never realized that was Richard Crenna! Amazing!
+ilovemartinmilner Crazy huh? Thanks for the support!
ilovemartinmilner Does anyone else think he was mimicking Jerry Lewis, especially @2.48 “I like it!”
