    Thanks for this comparison! I currently own the EV800D and I like it, but for longer range it really sucks, I find that the breakup while flying is very sudden. I don't feel to safe with it.

      That was actually one of the reasons why I upgraded to the Rapidfire module.
      Nice side effect, the clearer and smaller picture made my flying somewhat more precise.Only downside is the less immersive feeling, but it's not worth thinking about.
      Happy flying Andrés!

      Likewise.
      Had to disarm 3 times already due to complete video loss just all of a sudden. They are great box goggles and actually i like the immersion... just got Sky04l and sofar I don't love them and the binocular vibe looking thru them... apparently i will get used to them... lets see.

    Hi! nice video. I loved my ev800 till recently that they have seen abruptely reduced their range! its very strange, i've tried everything (antenas, several quads/vtxs, battery...) and nothing. Range is muuuch reduced than before. Any ideas? now I have the ofer for a pair of HDO's with rapidfire at 300usd. Do you say that today, at 2022 its still a good bet?

    • @DMarko22
      @DMarko22  2 роки тому +1

      Absolutely, get them! I'm still not convinced to get another set of goggles, got the immersionrc powerplay for better dvr recording and soon I'll upgrade to hdzero and I'm good for another year or so. I guess that the receiver is going bad in your 800's, keep them for testing Video or betaflight settings on your workbench, way more convenient then to put goggles on and off all the time.
      Appreciate your comment mate, Happy flying!

      I’m struggling with the same decision. I found a set of hd3’s for 180 .. or EV800D for 75. Sounds like the ev’s are better quality but bad range and not for racing. Sucks that Fatshark didn’t use nicer screens for analog

      Hey, I used two rhcp pagoda on both goggles at the same time. Still my setup today when I fly close proximity, when I fly through buildings or further away I switch one Pagoda for a patch antenna.

    I know u uploaded this quite a while ago, but how much difference is there in screen size... like how would you compare the two? is the hdo way smaller?

    • @DMarko22
      @DMarko22  4 роки тому +1

      Hey Mitx, thanks for your question.
      I was very afraid to switch from the EV800D to fatshark of the very same reason.
      I had no chance testing goggles before purchasing them, so I just placed the order knowing that HDO'S sell pretty well.
      If you compare the two within a pack you can definitely feel that the Fatshark screens are smaller, BUT I am way more focused and after just some flights I cant go back anymore.
      For me a definitive go.
      The picture is great, sharp, I can see much more details and so I can fly much better.
      Don't get me wrong, the EV800D are gorgeous for the price, but the fatshark goggles are completely on a other level. I don't regret the purchase at all.
      If you got a chance, get em!

    • @DMarko22

      Hey IO, elrs wasn't around when I made that video. It is just showcasing the difference in receiving the analogue video signal between the built-in receiver from the EV800D and the Rapidfire module.

    Besides the breakup on the other side of the house, is there really that much of a difference?

    • @DMarko22
      @DMarko22  5 років тому

      Not at all within close proximity. But at "long" range or penetration through walls it is significant better.
      Only downside is that the DVR is awful.
      But I recommend the Fatsharks anyway, make me feel more secure when I'm flying on unknown locations.

      The only thing that fatshark has on the competition is the module bay. That never stopped me from de-pinning the stock receiver from my cheap eachines and hard wired in a fatshark module. I can go over a mile out with my vr006 now lol. I plan on getting a pair of skyzones and rigging a fatshark module into them.
