- Today, we have my hands on impressions with the long awaited and amazing LG G4 OLED. It's brighter and more vibrant than ever. However, the biggest difference is the new Alpha 11 processor. I hope you enjoy and thank you for watching!
Special thanks to LG for the invite to their HQ.
Special thanks to Jennifer Gala and her second channel for the use of her amazing content that's seen within this video

We're just started our exclusive 10% store credit with any G4 purchase. Also LG included our company in their very first allocation/shipment that is now scheduled to arrive at our store the week of March 25th.
THANKS ROBERT these are the early deals people want to see!
That’s fantastic. I’ll make a post about it tomorrow.
I have a 77 inch C3 and i sit 8 feet away and i just love the picture quality. But i need to use smooth movement so i don't get jutter or motion sickness so can you please let me know if that is the best way to watch it or is that considered a soapopora effect when you have on snooth movement ???????... Lol 🍿🎬
That was an amazing video Brian !!!!
@RedLeo-pf9yo Thank you so much, my friend
What I love about LG TVs is that they have a LOT more picture menus and settings so that you can fine tune the picture to exactly fit your eye. No other TV brand has that many settings! Thanks for all your great info on what is definitely going to be the TV of the year.
Panasonic has more... and the only one to keep options that all other brands have removed or never had. even if the nemu is more austere.
I completely agree, my friend! Thank you so much for watching!
I'm definitely lusting after the 83" G4 despite its loftly price tag. I may wait for some (HOPEFULLY) sales later in the year to save a bit. We'll see. I have had a 77" wall-mounted C9 for a few years now, and I've been exceptionally happy. This new G4 seems to be "next level" though, and would be a fantastic addition to my dedicated theater room in my basement. Thanks for such an informative video on this wondrous new television!!!
I can't wait to see it!!!
I have never owned an OLED before. This 72 year old retiree plans on buying the 83 inch G4 version when it becomes available😃
That's a perfect choice for you Phillip! Congratulations on your retirement and thank you for watching
Congrats. Hope to reach your age and still be able to see anything
What is a G4
Wow.. Thanks Brian. I Can't wait to get a G4. Greetings from Germany 😊
is here for it - Thanks for all you guys do
Great work as always Brian. I too am looking to upgrade from my c1 to possibly g4 depending on reviews and since I use it for pc gaming as well I appreciate you covering that aspect. Thank you
Two things im looking out for: one, since this is still a WOLED panel, has LG finally found a way to increase REC2020 coverage past 75%? Two, how good is the new A11 processor at upscaling low bitrate content like YT TV.
Chances are REC 2020 isn't increased , but will give impression has increased , ie with wise use of white . So for most casual users the colours will appear bright and pure , yet white added
I think this is mla oled
@@jakearrow8047 its still a WOLED, it just has MLA within to reflect light.
@@steadychaosproductions3376 It also means it will reflect the colored light as well. So even if it's not increased. The perception in color volume increases with the brightness.
So I'd imagine for most content at almost all the time the color will be vibrant enough. Most movies and shows aren't sitting at 1,000 nits. It's much lower than that and then the specular highlights is what kicks up the nits.
I mean how bad can it be? QDOLED of course have equal white and color brightness. But I bet it's only noticeable in some instances. Processing, motion and features are noticeable 100% of the time.
I cant wait to get this. Ive had significant burn in for around 6 months on my CX, but ive been waiting for something to "wow" me before proceeding with my claim.
When i saw the phillips hue and nvidia partnerships that samsung have, i figured my next display would be a qd oled, but now with the matte screen, and the G4 making significant progress with color luminance..im thinking i will want to put my credit toward a g4. Also, the oneconnect box seems to be an issue for some people(ive heard nvidia released a driver that fixed the issues, but I dont know how reliable that is. It can sometimes be difficult to get factual information on mainstream displays as it relates to pc gaming).
Hdr10+ gaming seemed to be just the thing PC needs. Games are still releasing without hdr and it is disgraceful. Dolby does not seem interested in letting us(diy/desktop) obtain a dolby vision license. The PC crowd is in desperate need of an hdr solution. I thought hdr10+ might be it, but I also appreciate transparency and I'm not a fan of the way samsung has been doing business. We still don't even know if the s95d is a 3rd gen qd oled from Samsung display. My next thought was an s90d but I'm not investing in a company that wants me to play the panel lottery. That's ridiculous.
I do have a 4090 and a hue lighting setup. Not sure how to get all that working with 144hz, but im sure there will be a way very soon.
Its crazy i finally got everything set up at 40gbps running through a marantz av10 and now im about to do the whole dang thing again. Hopefully marantz offers a 48gbps hdmi board upgrade when one is available.
How did you get burn in on a CX my C8 with 21,542 hours on it doesn’t have any burn in from gaming in it daily. It has been showing some motion issues lately though
@brokenwrench404 my OSD is burned in permanently. I've since changed it but I mean my whole on screen display is so burned in you can clearly read some of the numbers, especially if they didn't change much. Cpu 1-32 just shows basically 4 digits but my gpu and memory speeds are clear as day.
This shouldn't happen if you take care of your tv.
However, the best buy warranties are an absolute rip off. It tacks on 20+% to a tv that was already $3500. I kinda looked at it as an investment toward the next tv and hoped I got to use it.
My tv is great but I don't know. I honestly thought my windows background or something would burn in eventually. I did not think my osd was that bright. It's just the standard rsst osd in red.
It was a surprise because it seems to me like it's more in the background than anything. But I am likely MUCH more careful if I don't have that warranty, and I am definitely not mad that I get to use it
Is this gonna knock the A95l of its perch I ain't so sure
We’ll have to wait for the Sony vs LG flagship comparison
@AeroDude73 will be so interesting and so close either way both are brilliant
Did you get a chance to test any streaming content? Or SDR content? How did upscaling and low bit rate look? Thanks!
Mine should ship out this week
Shoot, I already bought a 77" LG G3, and my
returned window closed from Best Buy. Really
wanted to get that LG G4 now lol !
Dang I should have waited and got the g4 instead of the g3, but I’m still happy with my g3.
Getting the 83 g4 for sure
Yes Sir
@kamarrawlings6285 will be my first oled display aswell. coming from a 2020 samsung q95t qled
@@ryno1808 definitely my first oled always been scared to get one because of burn in but over the years they got better with that issue. Was going for the the G3 83” but no mla so now it’s time. Well bud hope we can enjoy this tv to the fullest.
@kamarrawlings6285 same reason why i waited for the mla in the 83 aswell.. Sane to you mate
Hi Brian, How LGG4 picture processing compare with Sony a95l mainly low bit rate streaming broadcast tv channels and free streaming like Tubi and UA-cam video upscale? Waiting for your video and discussion with others TV Brand experts,Thanks
Good question ⁉️
They’ve most likely only dealt with carefully curated demo content so that info prob won’t be available until the consumer release
The WOLED will offer better detail because of the pixel shape, even C2/C3 is better than A95L for a more 3d picture. QD-OLED has an out of focus picture, like it has a lower resolution, not even Sony could fix that. Buy QD-OLED only for gaming, where you want bright and vivid colours. QD-OLED has problems with text clarity even on small 27 inch/32 inch 4k panels, let alone 55 inch and above. QD-OLED is not about detail and clarity, it's only about colours.
S90C/S95C doesn't have any processing (hard to believe I know), they're just monitors with tv tuners and some features. QD-OLED is mediocre for watching sports, low-bitrate content or lower resolution content. The motion is also full of judder in fast moving scenes. 144hz is not actually better compared to G3 120hz. Samsung only has processing in QN90C and QN900C, they included processing for LCD to combat the downsides of LCDs. The QD-OLED panel is so good that they didn't bother to include processing.
@@doicenti9033I'm sorry do you own one ? Or you just talking trash, because being an owner of the A95L i would say your wrong in everyway.
@@doicenti9033lol Total Garbage comment..
With Sony not updating their OLEDs and the S95D being an S95C with a matte coating, the G4 is most likely TV of the year, my only question is if the gaming performance can compete with qd-oled specially the near black chrominance overshoot of WOLED
This year it's going to be the Panasonic Z95A for sure for tv of the year. But I get why you or others might not pick it as it's not available in North America.
@@Phoenix_1991 the panel will be the same but I find it hard to believe that the panasonic processor could be better than the Alpha 11, we’ll see.
Hi Brian , looking forward to your review . 😃
Wow outstanding picture quality massive improvement over alpha a9 processor..
LG G3 as a pc monitor 15 hours everyday, everything is good. Waiting for your G4 vs G3.
Any screen burn in noticeable?
@@martinchitembo1883 no, just 1500 hours now, 10000 hours you ask me again.
@@martinchitembo1883 everything is good.
Absolute treat for the eyes.
Love the Robotech intro.
How is it compared to the S95C 77” ?
What about colour volume? Any improvement?
Love that background music you play during your videos. Where do I find it? Great video and thank you!
These demos always have “flawless motion” and should be taken with a grain of salt. 4k bluray 24fps content will show us the truth about the alpha11 motion processing capabilities. Will it eliminate panning shot stutter and improve fast motion resolution with no SOE? I’m skeptical, but hoping for the best.
Yeah think ppl are overlooking the fact that these are demos, which are perfected to make it look and run good
The processing is the reason I would prefer the G4 over the Samsung QD Oleds.
I don't get this processing thing, when I put the tvs close to each other I cannot see any difference in motion processing between s95c and g3
Jennifer Gala has some really good content for showing off my OLED when having company. I subscribed to her a couple of years back recommended from Brian. 👍😊
Love your work Brian, keep it up!
Thank you so very much! That is so kinda and very generous of you! Thank you for being part of the community and family
Hi Brian, Did you examine the native black level of the panel? Is it the same bright room raised black as the G3? I'm presuming it'll probably be since it's inherent to the MLA tech but I'm hoping LG's engineers worked some kind of magic to return the black closer to the inky levels of the G2 and before. I was looking closely at your footage but it's really hard to tell.
Great tv
I got the G2 77” when first came out and still looks amazing I think I’ll wait for the G5 for an upgrade
This my dream tv 😭🤣 I have the C2 and it's a fantastic tv ... I can only dream of this bad boy
I’d like to see a side by side of the G4 and the Sony x95L
Even better the new Sony coming out.
Wii U + LG G4 = FTW 🙌
Does the increase in color luminance on the G4 seem more than the increase in peak white brightness would suggest? Or is it pretty much proportional?
Hard to believe that the G3 could be improved upon! It's literally ABSURD the G4 looks this good..that processor ! 👀..Looks better "to me" than the $25,000 Z series..(@ 77" & 88") ...Was very much hoping LG would come out with an 83" MLA oled... Looks like it will indeed win the 2024 end of year shoot out! Thanks again Brian for yet another outstanding video sir! 👏🏾💥
Looks 3d even in that moderately bright room.
Not interested in DV until they can stop crushing black level.
They should give the C4 some of that boosted color relative to its brightness.
You love it my bro i can see that
i've been waiting to buy a TV since C1, but i still can't say that i found the quality and reliability i expected.
Any guess-timate as to how much the 83” G4 might be come Black Friday?
$5200-5500 probably.
@@loki76 that would be awesome
Gotta have one B saving up bigtime to.get mine.😊😊😊
Nice
I love my Sony A95L, but got to have an 83 inch and the G4 looks amazing and worth it.
my thing with these oleds is how does it do with sports. I know sports motion is not the oleds strong suit but i dont like sports on my S90C. Ive just gotten used to it but hoping it gets better going forward with oleds
This TV looks Awesome. How much better is this TV compared to the Sony A95L? Keep up the great videos Brian! Look forward to a full review with Robert! Everyone should purchase their new TV's from Value Electronics! They are the best and good people also!
If that beautiful smooth motion applies to 24p movies as well, without soap opera effect. With some excellent upscaling to older movies on top of that, without weird artifacts and such. This might very well be the TV that's making me consider selling my now "ancient" 77" C9 and get a 77" G4 🤤. I'll wait and see for customer model reviews with normal content, but I'm quite hopeful and excited 😊.
Still super happy and content with my A95L , I’m sure this TV will be great but I’d be surprised if future Oled tvs will greatly improve on the quality of the A95L.
your sony is the bast. Lg dot ahve life picthr onlay digital😂
Is QDOLED from Samsung comparable to this G4?
Hello everyone I’ve been in the market for TVs. I recently purchased a Sony Bravia 8 77” for $2,999 but then I recently purchased a lg G4 77” for $2839 (open box) just missing the wall mount but debating which tv to stay with now between lg g4,Bravia 8, a95l or Bravia 9? I mostly do gaming on ps5 stream movies/shows
Has the launch date been announced?
Hey Brian,
what do you think it the better option for Streaming Sport and Movies on Netflix or Amazon with sometimes with low Material, for example 1080p from UA-cam Sport or DAZN.
I only use internal Apps direct on the TV, should i go with the Sony A95L or the LG G4? I would be very grateful for a rough assessment from you.
Greetings from Germany
Hey Brian! 83 inch Sony A80L bundle with Sony HT-A7000 soundbar for €4300 in Europe, or wait a little longer and pay a little more to get the G4 when the price drops a bit?
I currently am using a song a8h oled from 2020. Do you think the g4 is a worthy upgrade from the a8h?
Looking forward to seeing this Tv at Mwave. Hopefully you will have the 83 or 85 there
Hi brian , great video as always. Which would you recommend between the g 4 83 inch and qn 900d 85 inch. Only for streaming. No gaming.
Great Job, Brian! Woled TVs are excellent, but I don't see the MLA system as a great solution. QD-OLED TVs definitely look better.
I think different tv 'format types' how they represent the pixels, look different to different people's eyes. When you look at comparison videos, you get a wide range of responses, some people like one format over another and some people say they love one format, and someone else says it doesn't look the best to them. I think there is a lot of subjectivity built in. You have to audition a lot of tv's and do online reading and looking up specs and reviews and then with a little knowledge, buy what looks best to your eyes - and not what looks best to your eyes in the stores brightness or how they have set the tv to show the most dazzling screen, that may not reflect your room's viewing atmosphere. Just my 2 cents worth.
G4 or A95L? Help me decide Brian 😂
G4 is an absolute beast!!! Brighter more vibrant with a new processor and much better gaming features. G4
I disabled dolby vision in my nvidia shield, due to it looking very dark on my C1. Is this no longer an issue? What changed?
Nothing
Yeah I agree I think Dolby vision looks crap way to dark .
Love you Brian. Can’t wait for March 21. The secret Samsung event will happen he QN90D break 2,000 nits???? Still waiting for Sonys monster TVs coming with powerful processors and enormous brightness, some even rumored the coveted 4,000 nits! Industry standard 10,000 nits for TCL, and the long awaited 1 gotta make money 1,00,000 nits by staring directly into the sun!
I'm hoping to finally upgrade my C7 with a 2024 model OLED this year.
On the base model OLED brightness still matters a lot because getting the ABL above 200 Nits minimum would be a big deal to everyone.
There's no harm in gains. This means Sony's going to come out with something similar or better. Let the games begin!
Kind of unrelated but when do you think PHOLED will release. Do you think it’s possible for 2025 release or more like 2026 or 2027?
Thank Brian for this G4 first look !! Looks very nice , I am curious to hear your official review when you get yours to test and try out . I am not very familiar with LG , but I would hope there consistency is top notch and that good right out of the box .
Take care , Dreamer
I wonder how does the processing compare to sony XR
does the G4 come with a normal stand? (Not wall mount)
The 55" and 65" come with a stand . The 77" and 83" have the wall mount.
LG G series are really great, in Europe at least they are actually quite good value vs. the SONY QD-OLED alternative in the high-end. I'd buy this.
Excellent comment! Hope all is well in Europe my friend!
Gaming? Would love a max luminance reading to see if it increased at all.
@@westibbs true. Thx
Key thing for me is it better than the A95L and how it handles SD content and reflection I have a bright living room, I know LG has a very glossy screen so daytime watching how does this get affected when compared to A95L.
Great comment! A few of these demos are sdr. You'll see the G4 vs A95L in a few weeks. Thank you for watching
Why didn't they have it next to a G3 for comparison?
So you can't see how little you can tell the difference 😂

@@wallyj2000 watching classys video all the tvs look very similar.
How bright is it vs the g3?
Beautiful TV indeed, thanks for sharing this premiere Brian
LG processing is awesome, because their AI team is led by one of the top AI authorities in the world..... Just a small side note: please say "crispness." "Crispiness" is for food. So many people on social media in tech say this wrongly.
Interested to hear your thoughts on the 83 comparisons between your A80L and the G4 - what are your initial Impressions? will this replace your A80L?
My 83A80L is excellent due mainly to XR clear processing. The G4 now has equal processing but is a good deal brighter with more flexibility of image.
Which OS do you prefer, the NEW LG or Google TV?

As amazing as the G4 is, LG has a SERIOUS problem with pricing. Mini-LED is coming hard and fast for OLED, and LG has painted itself into a corner by eliminating LCD products from its range almost entirely. They simply can't afford to offer 77"/83" at a competitive price, and we can obviously forget 97" ever becoming affordable, while 98"-100" Mini-LED continues to get better and cheaper. The enthusiast market isn't going to sustain OLED long-term, and the sales volume figures show it's way short of where it needs to be.
The only led tv that’s close to the G series is the x95L and at 85” it’s 5k. Just a little less than a 83” g series
Yeah, my point is that OLED price is not competitive enough for it to survive at this rate. The G4 is amazing, but it's not going to sell in high numbers. Something needs to change or OLED is in real trouble in the years ahead. Mini-LED is a serious threat. 98"-100" is going to be the new 83"/85" and OLED cannot touch it price-wise, nor can they offer anything that size that's affordable. The purists are always going to go OLED, but they are a niche market and OLED cannot survive catering to those people alone.@@brokenwrench404
Hey hey! I woke up this morning and my C2 has a pixel problem so imma get the C4 or the G4?
Sorry about your TV, my friend . I'd definitely grab the G4
Looking for an 83 inch this year. Sony will probably be too $$$. Hoping a G4 83 with stand is under $4200.
Add $2000 for release, and it might drop to $5200 on Black Friday (maybe). I was going to buy one until I heard the price, and went with the 77" Samsung S89C for $1800. Will wait a year and see how much the close out prices are for the 83". Brandsmart usually offers a 4 year no interest payment plan. Wish Value Electronics offered a 4 yr no interest warranty. I just cannot afford to shell out $6000+ on a TV without financing it, and my house rules are NEVER PAY INTEREST.
A 83” G3 is currently $5200 at crutchfield. The G4 will probably be over 6k at release
According to a slickdeals search...the lowest the 83 G3 hit was $3899 this past December.
@@brokenwrench404 Sadly no MLA for tht size and G3...G4 or bust. Bust my bank account. 🙂
The LG g4 is best OLED of 2024, its OLED uses the self eliminating pixels of over 8 million including red, blue, and green sub pixels which have white pixels sitting on top which makes this OLED a WOLVED OLED display but this uses a LG EVO panel allowing over 5 billion MIRCRO LENSES called MLA , but only MLA but MLA 2.0 , with brightness booster max, and this allowed the display last year to reach 2,180 nits, which can reach 3,000 nits this year. This Oled uses the best processor technology and algorithm of any Oled this year period. The APLHA 11 GEN 10 processor provides excellent TONE MAPPING, SHARPNESS IN HIGHLIGHTS, and FINER details, CLEARER picture than ever before. This processor also has a color enhancer feature with uses algorithms to make the colors look close to a QD OLED, and redefines what a QD OLED can with out loses That extra brightness from its EVO panel. This makes 1,500 nits of color brightness and 1,500 nits white pixels brightness. This tv has the best tone mapping, 3D CINEMATIC COLOR POP, HIGHLIGHTS, MOTION,FINER DETAILS period.
Notice: 3,000 nits reported on the s95d and lg g4 is what the panel is capable of reaching , however the panels might reach as much as brightness as reported.
The number by actually testing:
S95c was 1,580nits while s95d with over 1,700 nits. Approximately - 1,800nits
LG g3 was 2,180 nits while Lg g4 is over 2,480 nits. Approximately- 2,500nits
THE S90D MIGHT BE THE BEST PICK FOR THE VALUE TO QUALITY JUST THE S90C FROM LAST YEAR BUT NOT THE BEST, BEST IS WHAT LG HAS BEEN DEFENDING AN OLED FOR YEARS, THE S90D WAS PUT AGAINST THE G4 AND A-LOT OF SCENES showed off the excessive extra brightness of lg g4 and the finer details, better motion.
Does LG G4 has usb c or usb 3.0 ports which allows to access wired gigabit or more Ethernet speeds?
Oh nooo... I just ordered a brand new 65 inch G3.
G3 is amazing, my friend! Enjoy it!

This and StopTheFomo has already sold me on the G4, this year. I’ve got my eye on the 77inch (living room) and the 55inch (bedroom).
Now, what about that latency? 🤔
What demo video they watching?
Il wait a few month's. G3 is £2000 65inch .so hopefully g4 will come down to that price
It's going to come down to LG G4 77" for me or the new Sony MiniLED 75 or 85". The G4 is extremely enticing this year. I love how they fixed a lot of issues from the G3, and I love the processing and features. I for one don't mind adding some umph to picture and not just sit in FMM without any processing all the time. I do like it's even a little brighter and it can be a quite a lot brighter in the 3% or less windows for HDR highlights. I mean that is just cool. I think in vivid preset or standard LG said something like 2300 nits for those small highlights. Of course only know if that is right until tested. But don't forget most of us don't calibrate so it would be brighter for us in almost any mode than after calibration.
The 5 year panel warranty is a really smart choice by LG. If they didn't have that I wouldn't consider any OLED. Because here in Canada with BB the warranty for that size would be over $1,500 alone. Which too much when it could be used on something else or even size increase.
Too bad we can never see the processing on streaming content like movies. I want to see examples how it upscales and add detail with AI director/pro etc.
Fire! But does it surpass the SONY?
Damn want to preorder the tv lol
I can all ready see all the processing and fine details along with brightness and sharpness near the main focus towards the screen projected making infinite contrast and finer details in the sharper areas of the screen
