I've been there for afternoon tea, too. It's really lovely in the summer with all of the flowers, and being so close to the lake. We really enjoyed our time there. And, a nice drive from there is the Brock Monument at Queenston.

Niagara-Close-to-the-Lake is my favourite town in the area.

Absolute Philistines I was amazed at how you cut the scones never never never always broken in half never cut then break them into small pieces put your cream or butter and jam on and eat in small pieces

High tea includes silver cutlery on table which is precisely why you use it to cut each item into bite size pieces (if they aren’t already) & use the utensils!!! Even to pull the food off the layered stand. Cut scones in half horizontally, then into bites covered with jam or cream. Eat Bite size with utensils. It’s white tablecloth time, not an outdoor finger fest picnic. That is proper etiquette which you know or learn from The servers and iTunes when you ask questions. They want to have an enjoyable relaxing time. There’s no etiquette police but manners are expected. The modern & And current generation is so loose and lazy that everybody gets with practically anything. If you don’t intend to go and do it in a formal way then why bother?

You paid enough for it. Eat it however the hell you want. And parking is free in Niagara-on-the-lake if you're willing to walk 5 minutes from the main street.

Speaking as a not-so-young person who has been enjoying afternoon teas for decades, at places from the Park Lane Hotel in London, to The Pierre Hotel in New York, to The Windsor Arms in Toronto, you don't need any fancier etiquette than you'd have at any nice restaurant. It's supposed to be enjoyable!

Reminded me of going to The Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong for tea and dessert.

She said macaroon, instead of macaron. There's a difference

No clotted cream or real fresh whipped cream? Apart from that everything looked delicious.
