Anyone who said the Engine is broken must have never worked on those engines. This engine is pretty much bulletproof. It’s pretty much the last engine on the planet that I would ever expect to break.
last year, my car (W124 400E from 1993 )had the same issue when driving under the rain.....basically, the distributor caps and rotors got wet and created some issues ( like misfires )....behind the caps and rotors , they are some dust shield ( mostly orange color from Bosch) that I did change as the gasket was failing....Anyways, I am sure that your mechanic knows that and also changed them ( if not , you will have the same issues when it rains again).....BTW, GREAT VIDEO!!!! :) ;)

The pre facelift W140s like yours had biogedregradable wiring looms. At this age and driving in heavy rain it was bound to happen. Get your wiring loom upgraded to the norm post 96 one.
Nice Video Effspot. What you should do with the Zonda's next time is , do a side by side engine look with the S600 M120 ,not with the Huyara. Another Tip i can give you is : If you like to make the S600 sound even more like a Zonda , you need to install 2 - 75 mm Airfilters , the CONE style round open filters . This will bring out the Beast & unleash it , you & your crew will love it ,Thank me later ,lol. I had them on on my 600 , the sound was just amazing .

I got the Red once , i never like them as they don't match the engine ,Black is what you want . Don't forget you need 2 rubber sleeves & 2 Clamps around it ,76mm to attach it just passed the MAF ,fits perfectly .
