Which is good, we have many beautiful voices which we can enjoy. Although, you can't really compare children's voices to adults' voices. If we compare Amira's voice to Callas' voice, at the same age, Amira is clearly better.

Callas trained hard to reach Amira's heights. Callas' lofty ego made her aim for perfection but even though she mastered the technique, the sour puss sounds clinically stale to the point of perversity. Amira's voice has none of the fake austerity presented by Callas. Amira is all heart; did Callas even have one?

As you may know, she wasn't very talented, and had to change teacher at the beginning. She worked hard to become the singer her mother wanted her to be. Maybe thats the difference- Amira wanted self to learn opera. I'm told, that Maria was lacking in some areas of opera, like the German opera. Her range wasn't most suitable for that, I suppose. But still, can't hold against Amira, that she learned from Maria and YT. At same age, as 14 now, Amira is clearly better of the two. Maria got to learn at that age, Amira is already a great singer at 14.
If you watch her face you can see that she puts her heart and soul into her music. Such concentration, such magnificence, such beauty. She brings tears to my eyes with her perfect Angelic voice.

We have 125 tone deaf idiots who down thumbed this. Amira is a miracle child, to have that voice so young is just extraordinary. Her technique is already so good, incredible breath control to hold and extent those soaring high notes for so long and such a big sound from such a tiny person. Without doubt she'll be an opera sensation in years to come, in some respects she already is.
It doesn't matter how many times I listen to Amira singing, I feel as though I am hearing her for the first time and relive my original Wow of her performance. Whether the venue is large or small she is so confident, commands the stage and entrances the audience. She really is a one-off, fabulous.

Yes I agree-when I hear Amira sing it is a miracle-from a person who didn't really believe in miracles-I think I will change my mind, I love her voice so much & it has improves in just the short while since her first performance.

Wow, Amira's has grown so much compared to when she first sang this song, she is now the best soprano in the world and there is an argument to be made that she is the greatest soprano of all time. Her voice is so smooth and the melody in her voice is incomparable.
If anyone had any doubt about Amira's ability to develop and improve her vocal skills, I think this rendition answers that question. It's a genuine 'tour de force.'

I still remember the first time I ever heard of Amira Willighagen - I was watching a whole slew of those 'Got Talent' videos one evening and about to go to the bed for the night, and I thought, well, just one more - and I clicked on her Holland's Got Talent performance, and was stunned and amazed. To this day I celebrate my luck at having saved the best for last that night.
Having taken part, watched and enjoyed all types of classical singing over 70 years-(am 85 now), nothing has come near to the joy of watching and hearing Amira. It's not just her voice, oh no, she is much more than that. She is a most delightful personality and it comes through full flood and we are melted in this rendition. Thank goodness I lived to witness such beauty.

I have an opinion,her voice was so beautiful in the beginning.You can't improve on perfection.I would say that she has sharpened he pronunciation of words,along with the vibrato control,most needed for a smoother delivery of these beautiful songs.I feel things,and will only speek the truth in this matter.She and her family are all trying to figure what direction she is moving,she also must stay grounded,it is imperative that she keeps that innocence which she at her age must keep.We as listeners must always think of her future and her well-being,remember she is a gift from our Creator,so wonderful it can't even be discribed.We as listeners must think of her first,always she must choose her own path for her posterity.
Agree that her technical skill is growing in sync with her instrument. She is now adding a richer bottom register, a more ringing top, and decrescendo. At times her clarion sound reminds me of the great sopranos of an earlier generation, such as Licia Albanese. Her potential is enormous.

When I regard Amira or any other artist, it's not from some high skill level I myself have attained, but from the only perspective to which I can lay claim - I have a good ear, and I think I know vocal ability when I hear it. I've been tracking Amira since I stumbled upon her about two years ago. To me her voice is becoming richer; her range is wonderful; and she reaches high notes seemingly effortlessly, in a manner that must utterly confound some of today's better sopranos - for example, she concludes O Mio Babbino Caro on a note one octave higher than many established sopranos will attempt. And not only can Amira reach her high notes - there's no hint of strain as she does so, and they lose none of their melodic quality - to me, a true test of whether a vocal artist has "got it." (Didn't no less than Maria Callas have some problems when she went "up there"? My ear "says" she did!) There's another young talent and UA-cam favorite - Jackie Evancho. Often times one reads comments that, in the listener's opinion, compare Jackie favorably to Amira. Jackie's already doing quite well in her career - she does have a terrific stage presence that Amira sorely needs! - but any comparison of her to Amira Willighagen is utterly absurd. Amira is a shining operatic star in the making; pop and popera performers can't compare with her. Someone else here has pointed out that all the superlatives have already been used in describing Amira's ability ... there really is no new way to describe her astonishing skills. We observe and listen with delight; star-struck.
Sometime in the future people most certainly will say that Holland has given the world Van Gogh, Rembrandt and Amira Willighagen, among others. I listen to this angel for hours on end and always shed tears. She has the most beautiful voice in the world. It’s just the opinion of an amateur musician and a retired translator. Amira brings it all together in this performance; it is amazing to think (because of her age) there is so much more to come. What an absolute joy she is.
Such a beautiful sound, such a beautiful child... Very good, clean performance. Yes, it's good for a singer to grow in ability (and inevitable for a youngster growing toward adulthood)... but (BUT) I loved Amira's voice the instant I heard it when she was only 9, it was near perfection in tone and pitch, with great note extension even when she was brand new to singing operatically. And I think it's her natural tonal quality that sets her apart from lesser voices, so she may not benefit from adding lots of 'technique' if it dampens her natural vocal quality. She sounded better than Maria Callas, and every other professional opera singer I've seen, when she was only 10 years old... which says a lot. She sounds wonderful here, amazing actually. And it's my hope that in 5 more years she will still sound like herself, and not be changed by all the 'professional' help that teachers and coaches are so eager to offer to 'improve' upon something that is already so close to perfection. So far, it seems like she has had the right kind of coaching, letting her find her own vocal space. It's also good to know that because of Dutch laws, she enjoys the normal life of a schoolgirl instead of working day & night. Let's pray the world will watch over her & keep her safe, so we can see her singing at age 25, the best in the world and a sight to see.
Yes very true. And the fascinating thing is that here's a 7 year old sitting around bored because her brother and mother and father are playing instruments. So what does she do? The most pragmatic thing in the world. Sing. OMG That one decision changes the world - or at least has changed my world.

As she gets older her lung capacity will increase and she will be able to hold her notes till it is time.to take a breath. Now I don't know where you got your training from so that you are able to give a critique about proper "operatic technique" but as a professional singer and retired choir director I can make a knowledgeable assessment of her current capability which is of the.highest order.for her age. As far as Jackie Evancho is concerned she.has never claimed to be an opera singer and.is quick to correct people who call her one. For that matter Amira is not an opera singer. An opera singer is someone who is a member of an opera company, puts on a costume, and portrays a character through singing. Amira, however, sings opera arias and classical pieces. There is a difference. Jackie is just one of the best "classical/crossover" singers in the business and should not be expected to kiss the feet of the elitist, snobbish, "purists." And, judging by her international.appeal is doing very well, thank you!

This performance along with her performance of Ave Maria in Reykjavik were probably two of her best in her early career. Amira in comparison to other singers, doesn't seek that validation of her talents. She does her performance and thanks her audience. She is humble in her presentation and life. To her singing is natural; like walking. I watched a recent video of Jackie of Evanco and she has to work at her vibrato and she does have a beautiful voice but it is difficult to watch her quivering lips trying to maintain he vibrato. If you watch Amira sing, there is no effort on her part...even when she attains those very, very high notes. It is all very natural for her. And if you ever notice, when someone listens to Amira for the first time, they almost always say, "I'm listening to an angel singing." She has such a beautiful voice. If you ever check out VReacts or Nephi Reactions videos, they are just flabbergasted by Amira. There is no more beautiful voice, no more humble singer or teenager, or teenager that knows what she wants to do with her life and has control of her life than Amira. I love that girl.

I don"t think the comparisons to Jackie(another truly great talent) are necessary any more.Those who prefer Jackie will always prefer Jackie and those of us who adore Amira will just have to settle for being right.(Just kidding) Is it not a wonderful thing that we have Amira,Jackie,Laura Bretan,Solemia and so many other young stars to entertain us for the next forty years!
i have always hated opera, but when this child sings it its beautiful, and that's something i have not seen any other singer do with opera, make it beautiful.

Whenever this sweet young lady sings, I close my eyes and I am being sung to by an angel,,,,,Then I open my eyes, and The angel continues singing. I am 78, have not truly appreciated opera,,,,until I heard this angel and I feel privileged to be able to go from one video to another, and hear the angel sing! And I thank God that I have heard one of his angels sing.

Yes. These songs she sang in Reykjavik represents for me also the best music I can recall hearing. And in my lifespan that says a lot. The other song is her Ave Maria. Together with Gounod, and the choir, she produced what can only be described as perfect music. A boon from the little girl to an old man to salve his aches and worries, and lift his depleted spirit.

Little Amira has the voice of a generation and one of the best ever to grace this earth. She can only get even better as she matures which is a frightening but also wonderful thought! She seems like a beautiful child in and out and I hope she has a very long and fantastic life and career.
Magnificent performance by Amira! However, performance might be a misnomer. I have been following Amira’s talent since she first appeared as a contestant on ‘Holland’s Got Talent’ - at 9 years old!! She immediately displayed a unique energy and phenomenal operatic voice. More than hearing her beautiful voice, literally millions of people felt and responded to her soulful inner self shining through! Since then she has been working to master her vocal abilities and shows that her body is growing into maturity to match her wondrous enthusiasm. Yet, as I have watched her develop her art, I have noticed in her something special which is unique to someone who is internally striving to reach continual heights of expression. Unlike most people who learn the techniques and become proficient in their art, Amira seems to become totally immersed in the Aria she is singing - which propels her into another world. I see more and more that she is not performing to the audience but becomes at one with the song, and the audience disappears from her awareness! - she is not singing to them, but revels in the beauty of the sounds. She undoubtedly enjoys the people’s appreciation, but that is not her motivation! As we watch her singing, most of us sense a certain inner Light that beckons us to embrace her love of the music. We feel enfolded by her alternate reality. She seems to display a sort of mastery that transcends the normal world of love. Now this might sound a bit Meta-Physical and over the top. Yes, I am a fan of Amira, however not from idolizing her, but a true respect of her unique and splendid love of opera and her genuine concern for her fellow earth people (i.e. Playgrounds etc.). This respect is always felt when we notice anyone (in any field of endeavor) who has this inner light that is all too rare in this world. Since she has come onto the world stage people have struggled to explain the feelings they have when listening and viewing her - given the thousands of comments on U-Tube (i.e. ;She is an Angel from God’ or ‘What an Angelic Voice!’) Of course, I selfishly hope Amira continues to grow and mature into a great opera singer, for if she wishes, there will be numerous Arias of beauty presented in her future in order to display her inner light for all of us to enjoy and benefit. However, even if she chooses another form of expression, I am sure she will help to bring us a wondrously different energy - an energy that is all important for this struggling and changing world.

It's really incredible; I've never seen anything quite like it (except some rare Bob Dylan performances). So you are responding to what she is doing , and verbalize it really well.

The human being and the human mind are capable of extending so far past the loftiest goals in craft and performance. Every child builds on the foundations laid by all who came before. I discovered her 2 weeks ago. Now, I listen many of her performances... 10 times a day. I was almot sure I had a soul. She opened the door by a heaven sound. Now I am sure... Like the judge said: "It's probably and old soul'". She's a gift for everyone of us...
I was not into soprano singers. I was more of a tenor kind of guy, but her voice is like a drill from heaven that drills a hole in your heart whether you like of not and then you end up not only liking it but loving it!

I've just listened to Jackie Evancho, she has a beautiful voice, but completely different to Amira. my opinion is Amira has the far better voice. She will become the best soprano in opera this world has ever seen. She is amazing and unbelievable.
Jackie is best in her field as a classical/crossover singer. People keep calling her an opera singer an insist upon calling her an opera singer. Jackie doesn't have vocal coaching. She doesn't need it for her type of singing. No one is "better" It's like comparing Apple's and oranges.

According to interviews, Jackie, herself, has said that any professional training was for a short time until she thought they were trying to change her voice and figured her voice, the way it was, is what got her where she was,so why fix what was not broken. I am a retired choir director and professional singer, and know better than to compare their voices, for they are two completely different instruments with different repertoires. I am a huge fan of both, by the way, and have been following both since they each appeared on the scene.
at 11years old and limited lessons at this stage, there is no one better. I will not compare the very good singers from other countries that sing in other styles! they are very good also...I just prefer, Amiras' style more.

I love Amira ( and any other singer's singing from emotion of being self expressing and self-expressive, or being "just" herself" as first-and-last commandment), because to sing is a mission and even if not easy or not perfect but to have this passion...is more than school or hard work... is the life itself !

i am not a fan of opera but when i first saw amira on HGT i was blown away now a few years on her voice has become 100 times better she is a natural talent very beautiful ,charming happy and very intelligent girl, whenever she sings like this i am just mesmerised by her and i hope amira will be around for many years

I still remember the first time I ever heard of Amira Willighagen - I was watching a whole slew of those 'Got Talent' videos one evening and about to go to the bed for the night, and I thought, well, just one more - and I clicked on her Holland's Got Talent performance, and was stunned and amazed. To this day I celebrate my luck at having saved the best for last that night.
Having taken part, watched and enjoyed all types of classical singing over 70 years-(am 85 now), nothing has come near to the joy of watching and hearing Amira. It's not just her voice, oh no, she is much more than that. She is a most delightful personality and it comes through full flood and we are melted in this rendition. Thank goodness I lived to witness such beauty.

Agree that her technical skill is growing in sync with her instrument. She is now adding a richer bottom register, a more ringing top, and decrescendo. At times her clarion sound reminds me of the great sopranos of an earlier generation, such as Licia Albanese. Her potential is enormous.

I've been tracking Amira since I stumbled upon her about two years ago. To me her voice is becoming richer; her range is wonderful; and she reaches high notes seemingly effortlessly, in a manner that must utterly confound some of today's better sopranos - for example, she concludes O Mio Babbino Caro on a note one octave higher than many established sopranos will attempt. And not only can Amira reach her high notes - there's no hint of strain as she does so, and they lose none of their melodic quality - to me, a true test of whether a vocal artist has "got it." (Didn't no less than Maria Callas have some problems when she went "up there"? My ear "says" she did!)
There's another young talent and UA-cam favorite - Jackie Evancho. Often times one reads comments that, in the listener's opinion, compare Jackie favorably to Amira. Jackie's already doing quite well in her career - she does have a terrific stage presence that Amira sorely needs! - but any comparison of her to Amira Willighagen is utterly absurd. Amira is a shining operatic star in the making; pop and popera performers can't compare with her. Someone else here has pointed out that all the superlatives have already been used in describing Amira's ability ... there really is no new way to describe her astonishing skills. We observe and listen with delight; star-struck.
This is an All-Time masterpiece. It really is. The piercing passion. The slower tempo style. Absolutely stunningly done Amira. Bravo!

Amira brings it all together in this performance; it is amazing to think (because of her age) there is so much more to come. What an absolute joy she is.
Such a beautiful sound, such a beautiful child... Very good, clean performance. Yes, it's good for a singer to grow in ability (and inevitable for a youngster growing toward adulthood)... but (BUT) I loved Amira's voice the instant I heard it when she was only 9, it was near perfection in tone and pitch, with great note extension even when she was brand new to singing operatically. And I think it's her natural tonal quality that sets her apart from lesser voices, so she may not benefit from adding lots of 'technique' if it dampens her natural vocal quality. She sounded better than Maria Callas, and every other professional opera singer I've seen, when she was only 10 years old... which says a lot. She sounds wonderful here, amazing actually. And it's my hope that in 5 more years she will still sound like herself, and not be changed by all the 'professional' help that teachers and coaches are so eager to offer to 'improve' upon something that is already so close to perfection. So far, it seems like she has had the right kind of coaching, letting her find her own vocal space. It's also good to know that because of Dutch laws, she enjoys the normal life of a schoolgirl instead of working day & night. Let's pray the world will watch over her & keep her safe, so we can see her singing at age 25, the best in the world and a sight to see.

As she gets older her lung capacity will increase and she will be able to hold her notes till it is time.to take a breath. Now I don't know where you got your training from so that you are able to give a critique about proper "operatic technique" but as a professional singer and retired choir director I can make a knowledgeable assessment of her current capability which is of the.highest order.for her age. As far as Jackie Evancho is concerned she.has never claimed to be an opera singer and.is quick to correct people who call her one. For that matter Amira is not an opera singer. An opera singer is someone who is a member of an opera company, puts on a costume, and portrays a character through singing. Amira, however, sings opera arias and classical pieces. There is a difference. Jackie is just one of the best "classical/crossover" singers in the business and should not be expected to kiss the feet of the elitist, snobbish, "purists." And, judging by her international.appeal is doing very well, thank you!

This performance along with her performance of Ave Maria in Reykjavik were probably two of her best in her early career. Amira in comparison to other singers, doesn't seek that validation of her talents. She does her performance and thanks her audience. She is humble in her presentation and life. To her singing is natural; like walking. I watched a recent video of Jackie of Evanco and she has to work at her vibrato and she does have a beautiful voice but it is difficult to watch her quivering lips trying to maintain he vibrato. If you watch Amira sing, there is no effort on her part...even when she attains those very, very high notes. It is all very natural for her. And if you ever notice, when someone listens to Amira for the first time, they almost always say, "I'm listening to an angel singing." She has such a beautiful voice. If you ever check out VReacts or Nephi Reactions videos, they are just flabbergasted by Amira. There is no more beautiful voice, no more humble singer or teenager, or teenager that knows what she wants to do with her life and has control of her life than Amira. I love that girl.

Whenever this sweet young lady sings, I close my eyes and I am being sung to by an angel,,,,,Then I open my eyes, and The angel continues singing. I am 78, have not truly appreciated opera,,,,until I heard this angel and I feel privileged to be able to go from one video to another, and hear the angel sing! And I thank God that I have heard one of his angels sing.

Yes. These songs she sang in Reykjavik represents for me also the best music I can recall hearing. And in my lifespan that says a lot. The other song is her Ave Maria. Together with Gounod, and the choir, she produced what can only be described as perfect music. A boon from the little girl to an old man to salve his aches and worries, and lift his depleted spirit.

Magnificent performance by Amira! However, performance might be a misnomer. I have been following Amira’s talent since she first appeared as a contestant on ‘Holland’s Got Talent’ - at 9 years old!! She immediately displayed a unique energy and phenomenal operatic voice. More than hearing her beautiful voice, literally millions of people felt and responded to her soulful inner self shining through! Since then she has been working to master her vocal abilities and shows that her body is growing into maturity to match her wondrous enthusiasm. Yet, as I have watched her develop her art, I have noticed in her something special which is unique to someone who is internally striving to reach continual heights of expression. Unlike most people who learn the techniques and become proficient in their art, Amira seems to become totally immersed in the Aria she is singing - which propels her into another world. I see more and more that she is not performing to the audience but becomes at one with the song, and the audience disappears from her awareness! - she is not singing to them, but revels in the beauty of the sounds. She undoubtedly enjoys the people’s appreciation, but that is not her motivation!
As we watch her singing, most of us sense a certain inner Light that beckons us to embrace her love of the music. We feel enfolded by her alternate reality. She seems to display a sort of mastery that transcends the normal world of love. Now this might sound a bit Meta-Physical and over the top. Yes, I am a fan of Amira, however not from idolizing her, but a true respect of her unique and splendid love of opera and her genuine concern for her fellow earth people (i.e. Playgrounds etc.). This respect is always felt when we notice anyone (in any field of endeavor) who has this inner light that is all too rare in this world.

I was not into soprano singers. I was more of a tenor kind of guy, but her voice is like a drill from heaven that drills a hole in your heart whether you like of not and then you end up not only liking it but loving it!

Wow what performance by an 11 year old non the less. Amira's voice just keeps getting better with age. Really enjoyed her Iceland concert. One of her best to date.

I've just listened to Jackie Evancho, she has a beautiful voice, but completely different to Amira. my opinion is Amira has the far better voice. She will become the best soprano in opera this world has ever seen. She is amazing and unbelievable.

Jackie is best in her field as a classical/crossover singer. People keep calling her an opera singer an insist upon calling her an opera singer. Jackie doesn't have vocal coaching. She doesn't need it for her type of singing. No one is "better" It's like comparing Apple's and oranges.

jennifer wedgbury Not as intemsive.training and only when she was on AGT. According to interviews, Jackie, herself, has said that any professional training was for a short time until she thought they were trying to change her voice and figured her voice, the way it was, is what got her where she was,so why fix what was not broken. I am a retired choir director and professional singer, and know better than to compare their voices, for they are two completely different instruments with different repertoires. I am a huge fan of both, by the way, and have been following both since they each appeared on the scene.

I've been listening to Amira since her 9 year old appearance on utube. Two years and she sounds like this. What will she sound like in her 20's? I've listened to others and enjoyed them all, but this, words hardly express how much I enjoy her sound. Bravo, bravo.

i am not a fan of opera but when i first saw amira on HGT i was blown away now a few years on her voice has become 100 times better she is a natural talent very beautiful ,charming happy and very intelligent girl, whenever she sings like this i am just mesmerised by her and i hope amira will be around for many years
