    I have the CXC 3, and I LOVE it. Can’t recommend it enough.

    Beautiful frame! Really caught my interest. Although too big for me even if I go XS then go dropbar setup.

    Nice frameset! Seems future-proof, esp with the ability to use a belt drive. Weight, as you stated, seems a bit much tbf. If you were to mit the luxury items you mentioned (esp the Nitto stem, no matter how awesome ;) ) I'd say you could easily get down to 1.3k€ for the full build.

      Hi ! yeah totally if you keep it simple ... it can be a super nice, not-to-expensive bulletproof commuter

    i can see holes on the fork near the axles, yet cannot find mention of them documented anywhere. Would they be for water egress or do you think a dynamo cable might be routed through there?

    • @bicyclepicnic
      @bicyclepicnic  Рік тому

      I’m pretty sure those are the standard little holes for water egress and/or a bit of air flow. Holes for routing are a little bigger and there is usually a second one on the top where the cable can go out (not the case on this frameset)

    With a ~75 deg headtube angle and 45mm tires there's gotta be some toe overlap? Especially on the smaller frames.

      @bicyclepicnic  Рік тому

      Good point, that’s maybe a good reason to go 650b on the smaller sizes. My friend has actually finished the build and that’s something we should check, at least for the size he has: M

      @@bicyclepicnic Any updates on that?

    • @bicyclepicnic
      @bicyclepicnic  Рік тому +1

      @@schwarzpulver yes, I just tested the finished build with 43mm tires / frame size M, there is toe overlap. Shoe size UK 10.5, there is a couple of centimetres overlap

      @@bicyclepicnic 700c in this case, yes?

    • @bicyclepicnic
      @bicyclepicnic  Рік тому +1

      Yeah right 700c, I reckon on 45x650b the toe overlap would be smaller but probably still a bit. Unfortunately I’m not sure I’ll be able to test that.

    Very very similar to Soma bikes, same rear dropouts as well. I was 1 click away of buying a Soma Grand Randonneur in 2021, but couldn't get past the rear dropouts, absolutely hideous.
    It's a practical decision and I'm sure it works as intended being that it takes 3 different types of drivetrains, and 2 wheel sizes, but this type of bike gets a pass from me because of that.
    Yes I'm vain. I'm slowly starting to do my research for a custom frame, can't see anything available that I would like to ride for the next decade so it's the only logical option.

      Ah ! A custom frame ! It’s a bigger budget but worth it 👍🏽
