Power Steering Pump Noise Dodge Grand Caravan 2006

My engine was making a very nasty sound when we got off the freeway after a long road trip. Yikes! Turns out it wasn't anything super critical, but it scared me pretty bad! My power steering pump was being starved for fluid due to a loose fitting cap that allowed dirt, dust and debris to get in the fluid. This caused the filter at the bottom of the reservoir to become partially blocked. Turned out to be about a $24 fix when it sounded like a VERY expensive repair was about to be needed!
