I worked for the federal gov in DC my entire career, I've walked the halls of the Capitol and eaten in the cafeteria. On Jan 6, I stood in front of the tv crying. Listening to Ms Cheney's view of the insurrection makes me cry again. The confederate flag flying inside the Capitol? Obscene.

I was appalled watching it on TV myself. I didn’t join the military to support a person, the Confederacy, a religion, a wanna be dictator- I joined to defend the Constitution and the dream it stands for.

Ms. Cheney is a person with a high level of intestinal fortitude.
You don't know what she's up to. Her successor is brilliant, and they threw Liz C out with a resounding loss for her. There's a reason for this. If you read her book, and you're younger than 50, you'll probably live to see what she and that group have done to this country truth has been out there but all of you haven't bothered to take the time to question what they're telling you or your common sense by simply looking around at the state of our country since this administration took office, then go back and look at our status 3 years ago-doesn't it bother you or make you wonder at all why wars have broken out all over the world? Or why this 'green' climate hysteria has been buying, hat in hand, oil from Venezuela, etc.. and it's the dirtiest, most polluting source of oil in the world, I know because my husband was in the oil industry for 50 years; or why the riots of '20 were allowed to rage with 30 people dead, 2-3 billion $ in damage, federal buildings burned (I live in Oregon and saw this with my own eyes) or why they've allowed the borders to be opened to anyone? They vet NO ONE. The Chinese, almost all men of military age, are flooding in by the tens of thousands, the cartel controls the border and has taken over large parts of Shasta County, San Bernadino County, California, and in more places. go check on what you hear because we're in trouble and it is only going to be downhill from this horrible disintegration we've already experienced.

So you can write a long book on the damage you believe she did to this country, but the short of it was she was forced out of Congress in the defense of one man. That is the truth about what has always made America great. The choice I spoke of in the beginning is put in danger because people like you lose sight of that fact.
Wyoming voted her out of office for a good reason. Harriet Hagman represents the state now. Wyoming voters recognized Hagman as a brilliant, erudite woman, that was a stark contrast to her incumbent, Liz who was masquerading as a 'Republican.' Those who've had their eyes opened to the encroaching red flags, knows which of these two will uphold the Constitution and be an incorruptible representative of the citizens of her state and the country, and they voted for Harriet Hagman, who won by a landslide. Liz C's moral disintegration hasn't stopped and the book you read was fiction and should never have been categorized as 'nonfiction.' While in office, Cheney's hatred and revenge against Pres. Trump guided her political decisions, and to bring him down she resorted to intimidating and/or blackmailing witnesses, many have sworn to this and others, for example, evidence came out that Hutcherson (sp) lied under oath and 'Lizzi' was fully aware of it (the Secret Svc man she quoted had signed an affidavit saying he was willing to testify in the sham jan.6th committee productions) and to lie even after having sworn publicly to being honest. Had I not known differently, I might have believed her myself. Her duplicity being 'outted' has her backing out of the political arena; I just recently heard this & haven't vetted it yet. But I don't think it's just a Coincidence if true.
@wandalf Here is the thing. You started with a lie, and then you ended with a lie. Wyoming voted for Liz three times by overwhelming numbers. Liz voted for all Republican policies while in office. She stood up for American values and against the authoritarian Bible Salesman and lost overwhelmingly in a state she won overwhelmingly just an election before. Unlike MAGA, I don't think anyone is owed anything. However, knowing the reason she lost and the people defending it is sickening to me. So Americans in general and MAGA, in specific, look like fools and hypocrites. So maybe Trump is a symbol for America now instead of the flag.

As you read an excerpt from her book, I started to cry. It brought it back to life the horror of trump’s presidency and the damage he’s done. Liz Cheney has integrity and honor and I admire her service.
Hearing the harrowing experience they all endured brought tears to my eyes as well. It makes me angry that all of these he-man alpha males left it all up to the woman to fix, the cowards that they are. It's shocking that any of the co-conspirators are still allowed to walk the halls of Congress calling themselves our 'representatives.' They represent nothing but hate, division, and self-indulgence on the taxpayer dime.
I love the piece you chose to read. We all owe so much to Liz Cheney. Her courage.. Her commitment to character.. Her patriotism is something we should all strive to achieve. While I'm sure she and I would disagree on most political policies, she's the type of Republican I once voted for. The type of Republican that wouldn't strike fear or make you wonder if America will survive if, for example, you watched a network call an election for her. She's the type of politician who, if elected as president, for example, you could immediately shed the vitriol of election season and fall back on the "if she does well, America does well, so I'll pray and cheer for her success" even if you voted for the other candidate. I miss those politicians and I will vote blue, all the way down every ballot I cast in every election I'm eligible to vote, until the Republican Party starts nominating those types of politicians again.
