Donald Trump has been accused of rape, sexual assault, and sexual harrassment, by at least 25 women since the 1970s. He raped a woman in a changing room of a department store because he was horny and there was a chance. He settled an accusation of raping a 13 y.o. girl with money (when he was still partying with Jeffrey Epstein). Of course he would not be moved knowing people died because of him. I am surprised that people are surprised😬.
If you would have told me in 2014 that by the beginning of 2024 Bush would no longer be the worst president in history and that every democrat's favorite republican would be a Cheney, I would have called you insane.
Bush was never the worst president, though he's not one of the better ones. He's closer to the middle than you might think though. Trump isn't the worst either, although he's definitely in the top 5. As horrible as he is, he's still a better president than Andrew Jackson, or James Buchanan (Lincoln's immediate predecessor). After that it gets a little tricky as Trump could rank 3rd, 4th, or 5th, depending on where you rank him in comparison to Woodrow Wilson or Ulysses S Grant. Then you've got various early presidents after Trump, Hoover, and Nixon somewhere in there before we get to Bush Jr. Andrew Jackson was not only openly and blatantly racist and an ardent supporter of slavery, he was the president directly responsible for the "Trail of Tears" and the horrors of "smallpox blankets". Andrew Jackson gets #1 worst president of all time by a pretty significant margin, and terrible as Trump is, he's not THAT bad. #2 goes to Buchanan, as though Buchanan was every bit as evil and cruel and rotten of a person as Jackson was, Buchanan committed fewer crimes against humanity during his time in office and was technically not as bad. Then we get to the two presidents who are roughly about as bad as Trump, so it's arguable where in the top 5 Trump is. Woodrow Wilson supported the Klan and also attempted to subvert the Constitution to try and take more than his fair share of power with the office of the presidency. Ulysses S Grant, meanwhile, may or may not have been a good man, but he was supposed to be the president overseeing Reconstruction and reparations after the Civil War, and making sure the South was held accountable to freeing the slaves and making sure to help black people get onto even footing in this country... Grant absolutely bungled it, perhaps the most catastrophic failure we've ever had in this country, worse than The Great Depression, worse than the Vietnam War, or any of Bush's wars. We've been seeing the fallout from Grant's atrocious handling of Reconstruction and reparations ever since it happened around 150 years ago. He fucked it up so badly we're STILL dealing with the aftereffects TODAY. But at least Grant wasn't actually that bad of a guy, he just royally screwed up, so it's arguable whether or not he's worse than Trump, while Wilson is about right on par with how horrible of a person and president Trump is, I think. It's possible that if Trump gets reelected he could start concentration camp bullshit and begin his own Holocaust with fascist power. If Trump ever did do that, that might be enough to put him in the running for the worst president ever, but the highest I'm willing to rate him is at #3, which would put Wilson at #4 and Grant at #5.

I care about what they're going to do in 2024. That's the thing that is now important. And do you know who else helped and voted (unofficially) for Donald Trump in 2016?? Those tens of millions of people on the left who sat out the election or voted 3rd party, BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T LIKE HILLARY CLINTON. And they sat out the election or voted 3rd party (there by squandering their vote) while it was no secret that the fate of the Supreme Court (for decades) very likely hinged on the 2016 election. And yet those people on the left who sat out the 2016 election, or voted 3rd party just couldn't be bothered to care about that. The 2016 election should have been seen at the very least as a WAR FOR THE SOUL OF THE SC, even if one didn't like Hillary. MAGA certainly understood that. @Heartwing13 you're comparing standing up to massive corruption, getting continuous serious death threats, losing your career, unfathomable ridicule and more to washing your hands?
Kind of an obvious one, actually, and perhaps even counterproductive in the long run. Pelosi, like most ineffectual Democrats, had a futile but consuming objective of appearing impartial, moderate, and non-partisan. "Look at us, we are all following the rules and being the good guys; please give us more power to never wield on your behalf!". How many Republicans did she have to choose from in order to accomplish this veneer? No number of Republicans on that committee could convince the right that the investigation was a fair accounting of facts. By parading Liz Cheney around as a paragon, the left only burns whatever legitimacy that remained to her in the eyes of the right. They _will_ hate whatever we pursue, even to the detriment of their self interest. While Trump is most definitely the monster that the GOP and their media arm created, Democrats like Pelosi were required to give him power, as well. Slow-walking, watering down for the benefit of the donor class, and negotiating with bad faith actors on the real policy demands of their constituents played a role in the political disillusionment of the last few generations. When the time was right for a populist to reanimate the disaffected, they allowed Trump to be a pretender to that mantle as they doubled down on the status quo. Their inaction and group-think allowed Trump to entrench a plague of which we will not be free for a generation - if not in perpetuity.

"That level of depravity" is a great summary of what transpired and is still transpiring.
That level of depravity sums up today's Republican party.
If you would have told me in 2014 that by the beginning of 2024 Bush would no longer be the worst president in history and that every democrat's favorite republican would be a Cheney, I would have called you insane.
I literally made this same comment over Thanksgiving.
@@ryangainey94 As hard as Trump has tried to be number 1 (worst), I'll always think of him as a number two.

I have voted for Democrats for many years, but She and her father John. Are folks that I would vote for, truth. Good people
One courageous lady. She's gained my respect
Welcome back Stephen!!
W Bush/D.Chaney, Bush Sr. And Rush Limbaugh Are the reason for the mess we have in america. I'm glad that she's righting their wrongs
? You mean righting or was that a pun about the book?
"W" was warned against invading Iraq before invading. That it would be a quagmire, but he and Chaney were anxious to start the agression. Cheney was anxious to get his private arny in on the money grab. How many of our service personnel were killed or wounded for a money grab. I will not praise Liz Cheney for her recognition of Trump as a Hitler wannabe but NOT her politics.
Later in the interview, she makes it very clear that she does *not* acknowledge the machinations of GOP design that made Trump a possibility. She neither rights nor writes about the forces that created the Trump era. She merely acknowledged a symptom of the disease of which she was a part, the bare minimum. That she is an exception in this regard is proof that the cancer remains.
It was a pun. And a good one. Duh.
She has not accepted responsibility for any of that. She only stands against the logical conclusion of those prior GOP shenanigans, which is Trump. She's hoping we don't notice how we got to Trump. Which means she is still fully a Republican.
Please put part 1 and part two and part 3 for these videos so those of us who watch it on UA-cam know what order to watch it in. You speak them for 3 minutes and you have to take a break to sell SUVs and cell phones and then you come back and you can't tell which video is which
Regardless of her politics, I admire Liz Cheney’s integrity.
Her dad said, feeding pinenuts and hummus with the biggest tube possible wasn’t torture. It was trying to feed the hostage or the prisoner. He wasn’t even guilty do your research.
@@AmandaM-q4w What the H are you talking about? Your inane rambling has nothing to do with Liz Cheney’s integrity.

These are very odd times that we're living in.
I can't applaud a person who did the absolute bare minimum of their job. It's so deeply discouraging and sad that that's the norm now. 😞
I understand where you're coming from, but look at all her colleagues who couldn't bring themselves to do the "bare minimum"
Do you understand how much she lost for opposing Trump and even voting to impeach him? She could have kept her head down like most of the others.
@@peaco1000 so we forget all the bad things she's done and still does because she did her job one time and maybe lost a few voters. I don't care if she gets voted out of office it was quite litterally the bare minimum that we should expect from all politicians. They should all be willing to lose their job in order to do what's right and protect the constitution. The fact that they aren't is the problem. It's not like they aren't already filthy rich and won't get a new job immediately. She still does not deserve applause. That's ridiculous. Like going to a cop and telling them there were 3 bikes you could have stolen but you didn't and now your friends are mad and demanding a damn cookie. No!
There are things that matter much more than politics, to some people. They only matter more to people who aren't rabid fascists hell bent on the destruction of democracy. Thank you, Liz Cheney, for not being like so many people in the MAGAt party.
I get it, but applauding a member of the House for following the law feels a little like applauding a dad who remembered his child’s birthday. It is only in this Bizarro world where this is extraordinary.
I put my kid to bed last night..... GIVE ME A MEDAL AND A BOOK DEAL PLS!!!
She wouldn't be applauded if she wasn't nearly alone among Republicans in standing up to Trump's anti Constitutional behavior. So yes she DOES deserve to be applauded.
Love Liz
The comments from Colbert listeners are all so very insightful. I thank you for being able to string coherent sentences together. Truly! The place we are today in the republican party was incubated when Liz was an infant. Newt a major player
She voted with don over 90% of the time.
Politcaly I don't care for her.
The idea that she's now a
' hero. '
For doing the absolute bare minimum.
Says a lot about our current political situation.
EVERY single politician should have denounced jan 6, and it's leader.
Don should be under house arrest, and humiliated as the worst thing to happen in this nation since the civil war.
Respect to liz for doing the least any politician with any morality would have to do.
She didn't realize his threat till after the 20 election?
Don was claiming election fraud prior to and after the 16 election.
He repeatedly publicly stated.
He would not accept the results.
He could only loose an election if there was fraud.
He beat that drum for 6 years.
It was impossible to miss, or not understand.
Its interesting that she points out that she would never be on the show without these circumstances, yet like so many conservatives, she's argued that its the rest of us who won't debate/discuss with them, & its the conservative media who usually refuses to invite others on.
I've never stood up and applauded one of your guests behind my laptop, but, I just did for the Honorable Lady Hero Liz Cheney.
Don't put this woman on a pedestal for doing the bare minimum. She supports everything that her father did in office. I'm sure that she also owns Halaburton stock. She is an integral part of the GOPs long con.
I am glad someone else sees beyond this “literal smoke screen” besides me.
She is truly “Her Father’s Daughter.” Besides their gender, there is absolutely
no difference between them.
I don’t usually “post comments” on these (or other platforms). But I will make a “silent deal” with you. Watch what her next announcement will be, standing in front of a crowd of gullible supporters saying, “I am here to announce that I am running for President of the United States of America.”
I don’t know who you are, but I am willing to “bet the farm” (that I don’t even own yet) on this. If I am right (and I am sure I am), I will post a brief response to you saying, “See, I told you so.”
Until then, stay safe, be blessed, and continue to remain alert.
Contrary to popular “political belief,” there are some Americans that aren’t as dumb as they (on both sides by the way) think we are.
Peace and blessings to you and yours…..
N. Anderson
P.S.
Because of the world we all live in nowadays, I must add that I did not post this comment based off of some “conspiracy theory," just the facts as they are being “laid out” in front of us in plain sight. If you are at least as old as I am, you get to the point where you say, “Not Again….” smile.....
@@nicheleanderson9368 I have been retired for a few years now. Been voting since 1972. I am from Wisconsin. My biggest fear, and I have been saying some version of this for the past few years, Is a Ryan/ Cheney ticket.Or some version of that. Paul Ryan has been very much out of the spotlights since he left the speakership. Most folks don't even know that he has been serving on the board of directors for News Corporation. The parent company for Fox "news". The GOP knows that they have to lose the votes of cult45 to recover from Trump. But they can make up for that by gaining "moderate" voters. It sure seems like Cheney is roping them in right now. Thank you so much for letting me know that I am not alone in seeing this. Be well, stay safe and keep fighting the good fight.
@@nicheleanderson9368She already said she might run on an independent ticket, if needed, to pull votes from Trump. Anything to keep him out of office.
@geekfreak618 Your lies are no longer working. Her father is a war criminal and she agrees with EVERYTHING he did. It's just sad when juvenile name callers pretend to be the ""intelligent people".
@@SN-sz7kw I'd be happy to vote for her over Trump, but I believe Biden has a better chance of winning if I vote for him... so I'll vote Blue if Trump is the opponent.
Love President Liz.
I have to commend Cheney for doing the absolute minimum required of an elected official.
sigh. Losing sight of the looming existential threat.
Liz Chaney is a true Patriot she will go down in history as a true American
I'm a die-hard Dem but I adore Liz Cheney. What an inspiration she is and should be to Congressmen/women, and to America. I have so much respect for her and all people who put everything aside for the betterment of the nation.
the bad news is she is right wing, just like you...
@@hairywhodini3429 But, her education is fully to the democratic traditions - some I suspect is from education in Norther Virginia - where I also went to school with 4th and 7th grade emphasis on Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson, John Locke and curriculum that mandated reading PRIMARY sources, including Federalist Papers. I think when she was still in High School Northern Virginia was still quite firmly Republican but has since transitioned to more Democratic.

I admire Liz, she is a gutsy woman who stuck by her principles, and honour for the American Constitution. She is a hero, am sure, to many.
She is being celebrated for doing her job and upholding her oath. This is more a indictment of her Republican colleagues and less a glorification for Liz..
Comments like yours prove that it just takes a little PR and marketing to make a so-called American "leftist" root for the daughter of an imperialist war criminal. This reflects much, MUCH more badly on liberals than it does on Trump voters.

Thank you Liz Cheney for fighting for Truth and Justice💯

She voted for Trump 90 percent of the time. That tells me everything I need to know about her.
She didn't really answer the question as to how it feels to be imbraced by the left. Weird is not an answer. I think she's afraid to admit she's been wrong about many political and civil issues. I still respect her for the work she did on the j6 committee.
The Cheney name being 'rehabilitated' shows how low the rest of the GOP have gone.
"Put up or shut up" is the only reasonable way to respond to Donald's bs.
