You missed an important reason: very friendly price tag. There are beautiful exepensive knives many won't be able to buy. This one (or similar category ones) get the basic job done.

Great review man! I think it’s a great knife but I can’t see myself buying anything other than that Gerber Strongarm! Heavy duty knife, minimalistic and very modular! However this knife is a damn close second!

Gerber Ultimate Survival is the newer version without BG and nearly the same one.
