should do a re-test again hehe, last update improved dc charging specifically, it now ramps up to 89KW for about 30% and the charging curve drops down to 62KW instead of 50 like it was, also, after it manages to cool the car it can go back up to 89KW for about 3-5 more minutes and stays at a speed of 62KW up to 85%. which is a nice improvement with software only i guess...
I am interested on how to solve this or what remedy can be used for both the owner and manufacturer's perspective. this is somewhat inconvenient in my opinion.
In general, would DC fast charging on a 50kW be better for the battery than going full speed on 150kW+ chargers? Like if you maybe need some time to eat or something and want like an hour stop or something.
So this EV is not ideal for tropical countries like India, in India most of the area will have weather above 30degree most of the days of the year. Are you suggesting this EV is not suitable for hot countries?
Big disappointment for this Byd Atto 3, in Europe it costs like Tesla Model 3, but it charges much more slowly, it doesn't have frunk, it doesn't have Plug&Charge, It has no one pedal, it has a lower top speed, it has less acceleration, it has less autonomy (420 km. vs. 491 km.)
I signed for a 12 month lease here in Sweden. I agree that the car is not that good but it was the cheapeat EV of all. 10.000 km a year is EUR 235. Tesla is not evan close with cheapest Model 3 at EUR 660.
Chinese EV automakers have to learn a lot... not just copying from "others" 😉 ... in Germany: BYD is to expensive comparing to Tesla left lane huggers: welcome to Germany too... so much people are sleeping in the middle or left lane... 😡 ... I guess they need to save money for their high price ICE car gas 🤣
I wouldn't necessarily say copy. But Chinese manufacturers are not ahead of the German's. The one thing that's holding back legacy is still producing too many ICE. As long as they don't scale they have no chance to match Tesla and Chinese BEV makers
Judging contextually, it's clear he means that the Chinese EV makers should replicate Tesla. . @bobo-san: You guys drive plenty fast anyways. While driving at 200 km/h for a little while is fun, I don't see how you guys can do it comfortably. I did it in a brand new Skoda Superb rental this year, awful experience above 150 km/h. Most people drive cars worse than that. Promised myself not to go on the autobahn again without a big engine Merc.
The Chinese EV makers are soooo behind that companies like SAIC are signing deals with Audi and Xpeng are signing deals with VW so they can learn from the mighty VAG on how to build their next gen EVs! Oh wait, it is actually the other way around? VW just paid 700 million to access Xpeng tech instead? (and apparently the 700 million bucks doesn't even give VW access to Xpeng's latest platform, only their older stuff)
Great re-test, thanks for the effort Bjorn.
Impressive how deep you go into the rapid gate topic… 🙏🏼👍🏽
I always go deep. It's the best.
So much respect for you redoing it again!
"the bass" got me rolling (2:02)
Only one software update would make a big big difference! 20 lines of code... Total different experience after the fix if you ask me
20?
Frankenstein Lives! Legendary car.. 😊
Thank you for this very thourough testing of the Ato 3. Definitely thumps up!
LTT should watch and learn, retests are very important, thank you!
Great work Bjorn. I've not had any of these problems with my LFP MG4🙏👊
As usual, Bjørn goes the extra mile for his viewers! Now we can put the LED bar to bed.😀
All BYD’s discharge heat near the front left wheel. My BYD Dolphin does this in Australia.

If they updated Tang in any way then it would be interesting to see.
damn this guy is genius ;) "Yo-yo" pretty good damn trick
NO WAY tiny LED bar could be significant. (before watching)
maybe do a test for BYD and let them pay you to fix the rapid gate so they can fix it. :)
Do you have the option to (re-)test the new MY24 Volvo (X)C40? They have a new drivetrain and much better efficiency than before.
Adding Polestar 2 to your request. They have had the same structural change. FWD -> RWD and RWD bias on the AWD models.
Polestar 2 with new drivetrain and faster charging is coming by the end of the month.

It's 45c most days down here in Australia so I guess 50Kw would be as good as it gets. Any Aussie drivers experience something different
Can you try Leapmotor C10? It came to Greece this month and I want to lease it ... Thanks in advance
Youve probably been asked before, but how do you get that readout of battery info on your phone? ie. Which app and which OBD device?
blade battery for da win.....

Name of the app on celular and link with the OBD2 reader?

If you do multiple fast charges a day and drive fast, then maybe not. Probably not an issue, certainly not for normal daily use and slow charging
The BMS needs to be updated for cooling earlier before reaching 35 degrees. So redundant.
When I spend £33k on an EV I'd like the battery cooling system to be effective. Not convinced about this car at all .
This car only cost £27k in asean. Boycott them until they reduce the price to match asia
@@PsychedMedia Price match! Not gonna happen.
@@ohyesitsme if no one buys them they have to do it
@@PsychedMedia Really!!!! Import duty, VAT and dealer mark up and still match Asian prices. Cloud cuckoo land.
@@PsychedMediaChinese imported cars gets a 10% import duty in the EU. And that's before VAT is applied.
