So true. I really hope this is not the last of the lightweight sports car, but the direction its heading it seems to be that way. I have my brz for 2 years and I love this thing. You can feel they put their soul into it.

Great video, Austin. I agree, lightweight traditional sports cars are few and far between, especially affordable ones. Sure, can get some Porsche products, Lotus has the new Emira, and there are some of the boutique car makers that make different models (Factory Five, for example), but for most normal individuals with normal budgets, the GR86/BRZ and the MX-5 are really all that's left if you're buying new.
Have the Camaro, which I really love, and I'm glad I got a chance to experience a manual transmission V8, but last week I ordered a 2024 MX-5 and will be trading in the Camaro when it arrives. Had a 2020 MX-5 before the Camaro, and I just really miss that small, lightweight feeling. I've been going through a lot of cars in the last number of years, but I find myself really honing in on that traditional sports car layout.

@@Gonin60 I'm curious to see how different it is from the 2020 model I had. I got the exact same trim and options (only the color is different), but they've made some notable changes since I had that model.

I would really like to get the Civic Type R but the traffic where I live would make driving a manual like work, probably couldn't get out of second or third gear if I was lucky. And then unless you can take it to a track you're risking your license if you want to let it run, guess I'll just have to pass on it☹

If all you do is commute with it, I can see that being a negative. However, second and third gears are the most fun ;) I drive a manual in pretty heavy traffic daily and I don't find it to be a negative. If anything, it makes the commute that much more fun. Would you really rather sit in traffic in an automatic??
