Dramatic footage has surfaced of the moment a civilian cargo plane crashed shortly after take-off at Afghanistan's Bagram airfield on Monday.
The footage, taken from a dashboard-mounted camera inside a car driving alongside the airbase, captures the moment the US-based National Air Cargo company flight drops out of the sky and slams into the ground, killing all seven crew members on board.
The police chief of the surrounding area, Ezmarai Nasiri, said the plane "crashed soon after it took off and its tail caught on fire." The plane belonged to National Air Cargo, a military contractor based in Orchard Park, N.Y., outside Buffalo. Military officials said that the cause of the crash was being investigated, but that there had been no enemy activity in the area at the time.
