Because of that (and maybe other reasons wich I forgot), they wouldn't want to make it.
I always thought Auron was somewhere around 40, which is still barely even what I would call middle-aged. My point is that I never thought of him as old. I always assumed he looked older than he really was due to aging through stress or something to that affect. In fact, I only just turned 30 and I have a decent amount of silver in my hair and beard and it's been that way since I was 25 or 26. Also Tidus and Yuna are both supposed to be 17 if I recall correctly, but they both look 20 to me. Also Rikku is 15 in FFX and 16 in FFX-2. Wakka is only 23 even though he looks 30 to me. I'm pretty sure Lulu was meant to be 22 or 23, although she looks somewhere between 25 and 30 to me. The characters' ages are weird in comparison to their appearances in my opinion. Then again, I'm a bad guesser.
I dont know why, but i felt like crying when i watched this, especially when they got to the hyme of the faith. Its like people were born to tell us this story.
Dick N'balls My big brother beat the game one day while i was at school, with my characters!!! I wanted to kill that bastard! Then my siser had the nerve to try to tell me how the game ended!
Even in this summary, in narrated form with your voice-over, I couldn't help but tear up with the scene where Yuna tries and fails to hug Tidus. It's devastating
14:48 i know this is old af, but for people unfamiliar with the story, seymour doesnt tell yuna to stop sending the souls of the dead, only stops her when she begins to summon her aeons to help fight sin
My second favourite video game ever. I loved it in 2002 and I love it now. Something about the characters, world and themes in this game married with my then 12 year-old brain just worked. Nostalgia cannot be beaten. Flawed it may be, but we are all different. :)
It's not really that relevant unless you want him to make fun of it because it was awkward even though that was its intention? The reason Yuna and Tidus laugh like that is because they attempt to relieve the stress that they both have but then once they realize how ridiculous it is, they start ACTUALLY laughing and you can hear the transition in the game.
Not sure if it'll interest you but I've managed to condense the game down to 7 hours cinematic footage on my channel if anyone's interested! Tried to make it like a movie using the newest hd version on ps4, no worries if not though! Still love this game! It's one of the best for sure!
I remember grinding in the Zanarkand Ruins and using Rikku to get a lot of stuff for customizing armor to be zombie proof. And I got elemental stuff in other places, and things for berserk and stone proof. I customized everyone’s various armors to be ready for any status effects and basically immune to the elements, or fire/lightning/water/ice etc. eater. I was so proud of myself when many enemies barely did any damage or status effects to the party. Had to switch the zombieproof out when fighting Yunalesca but that wasn’t such a big deal. Zombie proof helped a lot with the second to final boss.
The way you do these are absolutely fabulous, they are very informative and help clear up the things I did not understand from actually playing the game. Even as to why Yuna has one blue and one green eye. Love this video, and I subscribed! Wonderful work!
+Damion Shafer Why does she have one blue and one green eye? Because her mother was Al-Bhed and her father wasn't? Can't remember that being mentioned in this video.
Yeah, that is why. and it was mentioned in here somewhere, sorry I don't remember precisely where because it has been so long since I watched this. and it wasn't stated blatantly, he just said something that made it click in my head.
+Damion Shafer Well he didn't talk about her eyes at all, I've watched it twice. But thanks for the confirmation, never knew there was even a reason she had two different colored eyes.
I'm pretty sure it was something he said about Rikku, and Al Bhed having Green eyes. Something with Sid maybe? I think Sid said something about green eye.
23 year losing streak, god damn. After the 5th year you'd figure the captain would say "Ok guys, we fkn suck at this game, let's do something we are good at."
Thank you for this recap, I just beat the game fairly recently and I had a little trouble following the story after the "you're a dream" part so this helped make more sense of it all.
I couldn't hold back tears while watching this video. The music, the graphics, the themes, the story... This game is a FULL MASTERPIECE. I've been playing the Remastered PC version again and again
I'm not sure if you'll see this as this is a big channel, and an older video, but just wanted to say thanks. :) I played this game a number of years ago, and now find myself wanting to play X-2, but seriously needed a refresher. This was perfect for that. Thank you for taking the time to make this video! :)
This is one of my favorite games of all time next to final fantasy 4 final fantasy 6, final fantasy 7, and final fantasy 12. The storyline is so wonderfully done it really makes you feel for the characters and the relationship they had with each other. You also never forget the beautiful world of Spira and the long journey ahead. I love how this game gets you involved with the characters so deeply it really gets you emotionally attached. You find out that Yuna is so selfless as to become a summoner to bring peace (calm) to the land, honor to her father, and saving the people who she loves. Wonderful story, a story that I'll never forget...
I go back and forth between X and VII frequently. I feel like the characters are more relatable in X and their stories hold more weight because of the way the world and characters are presented. X does such a good job of showing how people persevere through their hardships no matter how bad things can be. Spira, and it’s characters have resonated to me my entire adult life. I was 17 when I beat X the first time. I’m playing it now at 35 and it still hits me right in the feels.
One of the greatest games I have ever played in my life had the best storyline, cutscenes and gameplay I just wish it wasn't so linear and had more of an open world still a great game and the only final fantasy game I have beaten.
This is the first time i cried watching a summary video with flat narration. Proves how strong, dark, yet also touching the story of ffx is. Best final fantasy ever
That was excellent. I remember playing this on the PS2 and was the first Final Fantasy game my wife actually watched me play pretty much from beginning to end. Very good memories with this game.
I remember playing this and being blown away by the sphere grid concept. To me, it made this game. It was so fun customizing your characters in this fashion. Turning Yuna into a full fledged black magic caster was awesome and the trials were fun
This is my fav final fantasy, was not at first but after a few playthroughs the story and characters really get to me, this is way deeper than you take it at face value the first playthrough.
Most people i knew when this game came out hated i guess because it went linear but i always thought it was a beautiful game. The music, the characters, the story. All of it.
wow 17 likes. thats crazy for a random comment even thought i meant it. to this day i enjoy ff10 even more than ff6 or ff7. it felt like a real fairy tail being told to us. only we got to play it. square knew enough to put us in the same perspective as Tidus. in some new world we didnt know anything about. that was a good move. didnt matter about his life before all that. that wasnt important. so long as we ended up in the same place as Tidus it was fine. a strange land where we knew NOTHING.
I don't think Yuna was trying to send the people at Mushroom Rock, but rather beginning to summon Ifrit to try and stop Sin (if you look at the animation, it's her Ifrit sequence).
And the best thing about it is that you can see all characters/enemies future turns so you can plan everything accordingly. Gotta love that. The only other FF game that did that was Final Fantasy Tactics, I believe.
You know, playing alot of games (and I mean ALOT), Final Fantasy X has to be one of the greatest games of all time tied with The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. People always ask “what Final Fantasy should I start with?” I always say start with FFX and go south. FFX, FFIX, FFVIII, FFVII etc..
Tfw you generate a statistic from your imagination and need to feel virtuous in some actually meaningless sense of rare knowledge. People like you are why we came a cut hair from having Hillary Clinton as a president.
Amazing video thanks for this brought back awesome gaming memories, I especially love how you did the music to the places where the characters were on the map. Excellent job 🙌
A lot of people dog on the linearity of FFX, but seeing the entire plot in hindsight from watching this video, I'm actually pleasantly surprised with the pacing and buildup, especially once the story reaches the second act at Home with the truths revealed. I started getting teary-eyed towards the end too when everything started falling into place TToTT
There was so much I didn't understand as a kid. This is undoubtedly one of the best stories. I like the theme of how the Church's lies were what trapped the people unwittingly in a cycle of suffering and destruction, just to feed an old power-hungry summoner. I like how the antagonist is basically the same as the protagonist and has the same goal of peace and saving the world, but he is just one who gave up hope. (He actually has a few parallels with Sephiroth...) My appreciation for Yuna as my favorite female hero in the series (she IS the hero, even if not the main playable character) has deepened.
This game is linear, but the difference between this and FFXIII is that you are given more than a hallway to keep going forward. You're given more space to explore and people to talk to, bringing that illusion that you can go anywhere, plus each location takes a bit of time to explore if you're exploring.
And you can go back to any previous place/town you visited a any point of the game to talk to npcs or recruit blitzball players that get kicked off their teams.
I think X also masks its linearity well by the way they present the story. Its a pilgrammage so some of the linearity is justified right there.... But another thing it better is how the amount of information you get which builds the world and reveals the story is spaced perfectly and the details are revealed in game with optional stuff even providing more background lore. They didn't stuff all the lore into logs. The game and story are just presented at a wonderful pace
i’m Brazilian and without knowing I’ve always spelled Teedus, because that is how it is pronounced in portuguese, even after learn English, I’ve still spelled the name how we do in portuguese by old habit, just to came here and learn that I’ve been doing it right! Great video as always!
Thanks so much for all these videos. I've played nearly all the Final Fantasies but never really understood any of the stories (mostly due to the fact that I played them when I was a kid). These videos have helped to fill in the pieces and make me realize how great these stories really were, if not overly convoluted (looking at you FF7 & 8).
at 14:52 , she is not performing a sending, she wants to summon an aeon to fight Sin. Seymour points out it's futile as she is not powerful enough. The sending happens later
I know that Tidus' name is pronounced Tidus (Tee-dus) but the pronunciation Tidus (Tie-dus) always sounded better to me and made more sense given his affinity for water as evidenced by his sports career as well as his signature weapon.
The story was always kind of...weird to me...I liked the ending, the characters and all that, but the ingame universe per se doesn't really make sense... Chrono Trigger for example has a superior story imo.
FFX was a fun game, but the story is, to be frank, complete gibberish. FFVI and Chrono Trigger didn't have to resort to this level of complexity to be interesting. There's something to be said for narrative coherence.
@@SwitcherooU I have to disagree. The story makes complete sense within the universe presented. Everything makes sense according to the rules of the world and the world is presented enough throughout the story to make sense of it and honestly I feel like the pace of the story is told is superior to most games.
'Mixing football and soccer' that would make it football as both games are derived from the same original game. I would say water polo is the sport that most comes to mind.
Best Final Fantasy ever, sound track was amazing second only to 7 in my opinion, the sphere grid is my favourite style they’ve used for levelling and once you’ve got used to Blitzball it’s actually quite good, the only side games i prefer I are the card games in 8 and 9.
I played this as a kid, I wasn't religious, so I didn't know what sin was. Looking back it made for some interesting conversations with people when I told them how bad sin was lol.
I own every way you can own this game. It’s my personal favorite. I think it tells one of thee most beautiful stories. It was original. Well done. Amazing character development. Fantastic score. Just well done. I know many say 7 is the best in the franchise but this story is a strong contender, it’s one of the only games I have ever played to actually make me cry. It’s very rare for a game to have that much of an emotional grip on me. Idk it was just awesome. Cant wait for the remake cause you KNOW they aren’t gonna do FFX-3 without remaking X and X-2!
@@FearAndFaith you can keep commenting 7 whenever somebody praises this game but it's literally their opinion. I've played both VII and X and I prefer X. It might be because X was my first experience with an rpg game and made rpgs my favourite genre of games. Just because you prefer Final Fantasy VII doesn't mean other people can't like this game more
@@FearAndFaith and that is your opinion. It does have a great story but I prefer X's story even if I wish you could learn more about the lore in the main game. If you prefer VII's story then great, enjoy it. I love VII's story but I prefer X's
Seeing so many people saying that Seymor didn't stop her from sending the dead but halted her from trying to fight Sin at the Mushroomrockroad operation. But didn't see anyone mention that Seymor didn't intend to make Yuna the next Sin at 26:58 but meant to be the Sin himself. "I will take from you your strenght, Yuna, your life, and become the next Sin." He's talking 'bout him taking Yuna's life because he'd be the Final Summon of Yuna and thus taking her life when she summons her. And like later when you fight him inside Sin he's talking 'bout being the next sin. Edit: The first time I played this I didn't pay much attention to the ending cutscene, but the 2nd time nearly 10 years older, I appreciated the story on a whole new level, as I understood English better too, I realised what Yuna meant with the line: "..and the dreams that have faded." Back as a kid I just thought it was some random jibber jabber. But damn did it hit me hard when I realsed she was talking 'bout Tidus and the rest.
FFX, FFVII, and FFXV are my favorites so far. Hopefully Final Fantasy will not have a finale. I hope to share all these amazing games with my children one day.
You got the part at around 26:59 wrong. Seymour doesn’t want “her” (Yuna) to become the next sin, he wants to form a bond with her so that he can become her Final Summoning, so that Yu Yevon can posses him so HE can become the next sin, Hence the wedding and all that
Ok ok, I admit that I didn’t watch the full vid before I posted lol, but he did say that Seymour indeed wanted to become Sin later in the vid... my bad 🤫😂
I have many good memories of 10 and 10-2, from finding the Al Bhed letters to finding the weapons for the characters to revisiting the Guado and the temples during the story when the Guado would fight you. I miss playing this game, I hope to start over from the beginning and play agan.
They study the story structure, then carefully come up with a conclusion that Tidus must be a outsider so we learn the new world together with him. Then FF13 completely ignored this lesson AND also double down on the jargons.
Yuna didn't try to perform a sending when Sin attacked the Operation and was leaving. She wanted to summon an Aeon to attack but Seymour told her it was no use.
Thanks for the recap, never finished FF10-2, was going to restart it. But, I haven't played FF10 scene it first came out many years ago and could not remember all, "I did not want to play the who thing all over once more" =P
You forgot about all of the reloaded saves during the first game against the Goers haha. That first match was so hard when I played this game as a kid.
Actually, if I recall correctly Yuna does not start to send the dead and Seymor stops her; She starts to call for an Aeon to try and stop Sin but Seymor says that she is not strong enough and stops her.
Am I really the only one who wants a prequel with Auron and jecht? Seriously missed opportunity.

TFW 99% of the people playing the game pronounced Tidus wrong and got salty when they found out the truth.
Unless your native language is a romance language and you have been taught since childhood to pronounce "i" as "ee" :P
Or unless we have better things to worry about.
Tfw you generate a statistic from your imagination and need to feel virtuous in some actually meaningless sense of rare knowledge.
People like you are why we came a cut hair from having Hillary Clinton as a president.
@@anagramconfirmed1717 And people like you is why we have Angry Orange as president now, congrats you played yoself.
Amazing video thanks for this brought back awesome gaming memories, I especially love how you did the music to the places where the characters were on the map. Excellent job 🙌
Nice recap! Man what a crazy history FFX have
A lot of people dog on the linearity of FFX, but seeing the entire plot in hindsight from watching this video, I'm actually pleasantly surprised with the pacing and buildup, especially once the story reaches the second act at Home with the truths revealed. I started getting teary-eyed towards the end too when everything started falling into place TToTT
This made me want to play it again! >_< such a great game!
botanbutton me too! xD

OBM: “Tidus, Auron, Yuna, Wakka, Lulu, and Rikku…”
Kimarhi: smoking a cigarette
Best final fantasy for me. The story, the characters, the plot, everything is perfect and brilliant. I missed playimg this game
Only mistake i Saw was that Maester Seymour wants to make HIMSELF the next sin not Yuna
(He actually has a few parallels with Sephiroth...)
My appreciation for Yuna as my favorite female hero in the series (she IS the hero, even if not the main playable character) has deepened.
In my version of events, the Besaid Aurochs use a save editor to beef up their stats to Level 99 and hand the Goers a resounding 0-8 loss
Damn the music is too good, I keep loosing focus of what you say as I get lost in the soundtrack. That game was so good, so much memories.
i’m Brazilian and without knowing I’ve always spelled Teedus, because that is how it is pronounced in portuguese, even after learn English, I’ve still spelled the name how we do in portuguese by old habit, just to came here and learn that I’ve been doing it right!
Great video as always!
*Tidus and Yuna laugh scene plays on repeat*
Thanks so much for all these videos. I've played nearly all the Final Fantasies but never really understood any of the stories (mostly due to the fact that I played them when I was a kid). These videos have helped to fill in the pieces and make me realize how great these stories really were, if not overly convoluted (looking at you FF7 & 8).
at 14:52 , she is not performing a sending, she wants to summon an aeon to fight Sin. Seymour points out it's futile as she is not powerful enough. The sending happens later
Thank you. She is initiating the summoning of Ifrit.
Literally just played that boss battle/scene. Can confirm.
Just finished X yesterday after a week. Took me 23 years to hop on it :P
You’re comment is a year old and even now the game isn’t 23 years old
@@willmorris12345 well if we’re gonna be a stickler for details... “Your* comment...”
And ok yeah, 18 years It took me to hop on this.
@@SeniorSuiki haha. Touché.
awesome explanation man. I remember when I was a kid it took me ages to understand this game.
I seem to cut onions at a frequent rate while watching this game
Omg this game was released in 2001 damn iam old
@RainFlawlessGaming I was released in 2001 and loved this game as a kid
@Dark Rain I was around when they invented the wheel.
I born in 2001 and completed this game now on mobile that was great game with great story
I know that Tidus' name is pronounced Tidus (Tee-dus) but the pronunciation Tidus (Tie-dus) always sounded better to me and made more sense given his affinity for water as evidenced by his sports career as well as his signature weapon.
I loved this game so much. I have played it through too many times to count. Such a sad beautiful tale.
phenomenal recap, not too fast so u dont miss out on information but not too slow that its boring. nice
The story was always kind of...weird to me...I liked the ending, the characters and all that, but the ingame universe per se doesn't really make sense...
Chrono Trigger for example has a superior story imo.
Chrono trigger has a superior story to everything though..
You did a lot of hard work for this video. Very good job!!!
Y'all, for the record,
It's TEE-Dus. If you've played dissidia 012, Yuna actually called him that way.
CJ Salvador also in Kingdom Hearts
Best Final Fantasy ever, sound track was amazing second only to 7 in my opinion, the sphere grid is my favourite style they’ve used for levelling and once you’ve got used to Blitzball it’s actually quite good, the only side games i prefer I are the card games in 8 and 9.
I played this as a kid, I wasn't religious, so I didn't know what sin was. Looking back it made for some interesting conversations with people when I told them how bad sin was lol.
Finally understood what I played 3 years ago. Maybe I just didn't comprehend the fayth and dreams part and was confused if Tidus was real or not.
Just love how u do your intros and endings...
Best story I have ever played in a game. They really tried hard to bring this game's story to life.
7
@@FearAndFaith you can keep commenting 7 whenever somebody praises this game but it's literally their opinion. I've played both VII and X and I prefer X. It might be because X was my first experience with an rpg game and made rpgs my favourite genre of games. Just because you prefer Final Fantasy VII doesn't mean other people can't like this game more
@@kaitlyngarner740 I'm not saying that 10 isn't good. I'm saying that in comparison, 7 has a better story.
@@FearAndFaith and that is your opinion. It does have a great story but I prefer X's story even if I wish you could learn more about the lore in the main game. If you prefer VII's story then great, enjoy it. I love VII's story but I prefer X's
@@kaitlyngarner740 I've played both plenty. I wish you would learn more of the lore in 7 😑
A part that always sticks with me is cids and Titus’ deal to save Yuna ❤
14:48. Yuna isn't about to perform a sending. She was about to summon, and Seymour tells her not to.
These are good. Watching from my tv so I can't comment on all of them but thanks a lot, Mage.
thanks! this was exactly what i was looking for, now i can play X-2 with my memory refreshed :D
14:50 - Eh? That's not what she was doing. I know I'm being nitpicky but I can't help it, sorry.
+Mekanatarry True that, she was going to try to summon to help and Seymour said don't do it because it would be useless.
fck, this made me cry. better play it again. thanks for the video and the other videos as well
FFX, FFVII, and FFXV are my favorites so far.
Hopefully Final Fantasy will not have a finale. I hope to share all these amazing games with my children one day.
Hands down my favorite videogame overall; I have a history with this title, and as such hasn't been matched by any other game.
You got the part at around 26:59 wrong. Seymour doesn’t want “her” (Yuna) to become the next sin, he wants to form a bond with her so that he can become her Final Summoning, so that Yu Yevon can posses him so HE can become the next sin, Hence the wedding and all that
Ok ok, I admit that I didn’t watch the full vid before I posted lol, but he did say that Seymour indeed wanted to become Sin later in the vid... my bad 🤫😂
really thank you so much for your all hard work to make videos
this is the most convoluted game plot I've ever witnessed. I still love it though
you must be unaware of the kingdom hearts and dark souls franchises?
My favorite in order: VIII , X , IX , VII (XII is amazing too tho)
37:47 was Kimahri taking a nap at this time? :P
+Haseo Misaki Lol, good catch! I didn't notice I didn't mention Kimahri in the roster recap.
This is the best Final Fantasy game ever. Such a beautiful game.
good memories
thanks for your amazing work
My favorite part of the game is Lulu during the victory fanfare.
Crazzzzzy that this games 21 years old. So many memories
Really good video, exactly what I was looking for!
the best thing about this game has and always will be Lulu's amazing chest
