    Nice! Thanks for the info! 👍
    You should do one on axle position too, high low forward backwards..

    Been loving the videos Ryan - Have learnt so much!
    I picked up a slightly older senior chassis with 40mm rear axle and 17mm front stubs. Do you think its worth switching to 50mm and 25mm Fronts?

  • @chipsutcliffe7110
    @chipsutcliffe7110 2 роки тому +2

    The most important thing about 50mm axles for me is to keep them as clean as possible so you can easily inspect them for any cracks. Do this every day, and if you are banging curbs in the rain, you should do it every session. Pay special attention to any flattened or recessed areas (i.e. bearing keyways). I didn't see a crack which broke the axle completely at 70mph at Sonoma, locking one tire and turning me into the tire wall. And that is the last thing I remember... the kart was obviously destroyed.

    Is shortening the axle the same as bringing in the rear track. i.e the rear hubs? Cheers 🇦🇺

    If you wanna know what axle to run just go up to an rpg and pull the tape off that’s covering the label I do it all the time and they don’t seem to mind

    Hey ryan, I saw an EKN article about you and it said that a team offered to lend you a drive for a national race. Do national teams still offer drives or is the only option to pay them?

    • @NorbergNation
      @NorbergNation  3 роки тому +1

      They can offer them. Most teams you have to ask first. Make sure they know who you are when you talk to them

    What about lighter or heavier drivers? Would you suggest going to a softer or harder axle based upon driver weight?

    • @NorbergNation
      @NorbergNation  3 роки тому +1

      You might have to run a harder axle. The kart will flex too much with a softer one

    When you're talking about axle length what are the actual measurements of a "short" v. "long" axle. I think our RY30 is 1020 as standard but would short be shorter than that.

    • @NorbergNation
      @NorbergNation  2 роки тому

      yes it would mean shorter than standard

    If your rear width is say 55” wide how does have more or less axle inside the hub make a difference?

    • @NorbergNation
      @NorbergNation  3 роки тому +2

      I don’t know the science behind it. Honestly wish I did. All I can say is that you do feel a difference.

    • @bryan34wable
      @bryan34wable 3 роки тому +1

      @@NorbergNation I agree, you can definitely feel the difference between a standard N axle and a cut down one.

    • @Seb726Laviolette
      @Seb726Laviolette 3 роки тому

      It stiffens the hub if it goes in more.. if the axle is shorter the hub and axle is able to flex more. Same principal with changing between longer and shorter hubs.. thats just my opinion 🤙 lolll
