    Thought it was about time for me to fully show my appreciation for this episode since it’s one of the first episodes in the series that is truly emotionally impactful and is a prime example on Joff’s musical mastery as the composer for bluey. I hope y’all enjoy buddies

    This episode gave me all sorts of flashbacks to when I was struggling to do the most basic things as a neurodivergent kid. From catching a ball to holding a pencil to playing the flute, I was last in just about everything. But slowly, quietly, just like the pups in this episode, I made progress. Some stuff I didn't get the hang of, like riding a bike. Others I got somewhat okay at, like the flute. And others I thrived in to the point where it shaped my future, like art. It's a wonderful thing, growing and learning. 😊

    We can actually see Bluey riding her bike in the very next episode "Bob Bilby". In my opinion a nice way to show, that she eventually succeeded, without giving the previous episode an ending that would feel rather cheap and would also take away from the message of the episode of persistence instead of just succeeding, I think. Also them leaving it vague allows the episode to end on a high note, instead of showing Bluey fail yet again, simple yet clever. It shows how much thought is put into the show. Or perhaps that I'm merely overthinking this.

    • @Pugly
      @Pugly  Рік тому +71

      You’re are totally not overthinking it because I remember looking at bob bilby footage for my woolcock park reference and I was really amazed that I never caught that she was riding her bike in this episode especially since it’s literally the very next one. I had a very similar thought process when I noticed this while editing

    I think it should be mentioned that all of the kids figure out how to do the things they're struggling with in unconventional ways. Muffin lays on her back to get into the backpack, Bentley has to climb to reach the monkey bars, Bingo makes the bubbler squirt water everywhere so she can drink it off the sidewalk. None of these methods are reprimanded despite being not the "correct" way to do them, which is something a lot of kids have to face sadly. Very interesting to see the show tackle it this way and show kids that even if you don't do something the traditionally accepted way, the fact that you did it in the first place and didn't give up means a lot.

    I feel like it's also worth pointing out the line Bandit says at the end: "Nice work Bluey." Bluey hasn't succeeded in riding her bike yet, but Bandit says this line. He's proud of Bluey for trying again, even if she doesn't succeed right away.
    I feel like this compliments the season 3 episode Chest, where Chilli says: "Focus on their heads later. For now, just hearts." Bandit celebrates Bluey trying again because that's a very important aspect, maybe even more important than Bluey succeeding in riding her bike.
    And there's also how Bandit stops Bluey from helping Bingo with the drinking fountain. He's allowing Bingo the opportunity to find her own way to solve the problem so that the next time she needs a drink from the drinking fountain, she knows a way to be able to do so, rather than relying on someone to help her with the drinking fountain.
    This in a way could compliment the season 1 episode Hairdressers/Nits, where Chilli tells Bluey that talking for Bingo will not help her find her voice, so Bluey instead listens patiently to Bingo so that Bingo can find her voice, instead of relying on Bluey.

    I've always loved muffin. Some people think she's obnoxious but to me she's the epitome of a toddler still learning how to process strong emotions. She has a good heart and may not show it "properly" but she seems fiercely loyal. Ex. When she's the granny on the scooter bartering for a higher amount 😅 and she's allowed to pick an item, goes with a tea towel so she can play with bluey and bingo

    This was the episode that absolutely sold me on Bluey. It reminded me of conversations I'd had with my boyfriend (now husband) when we were discussing our future and our apprehensions about having kids based on our childhood experiences. The importance of letting children learn by struggling through a task was something that hit home for both of us, as our respective sets of parents were sort of at opposite ends of the spectrum (mine were helicopters at times, and he was more of a latchkey kid). I grew up fearful of doing things on my own because I didn't often have the opportunity to learn via failure, and he was figuratively (and occasionally literally) thrown in the deep end to fend for himself with little encouragement. We now have a five-month-old son, and the messages in Bluey have been a real source of comfort and inspiration to us as we figure out this whole parenting thing. I'm elated to finally see this episode get the spotlight.

    Wow, this gave me some serious reflection flashbacks. About 15 years ago I had dropped out of college and decided to try something different, truck driving. I went to a two week truck driving school and just barely managed to get my license. The whole time I was struggling with everything expected from me as a driver. The two places I struggled was in the inspection and in downshifting. A driver is required to inspect their truck every day before they get going and I needed to remember every part to point out to my examiner. The downshifting was because when I started most trucks were still manual stick shifts. I could double clutch when accelerating amazingly well, but working down the gears again to stop was incredibly difficult. Then after I managed to find a job there was a whole new series of learning challenges. Time management, distance calculations, map reading, and all this while still doing everything else I had learned. In my first few years of driving there were plenty of times I cried because it just seemed so unfair that I couldn't find my delivery location or traffic was backed up, throwing my whole schedule for the day into chaos.

    This episode got me into Bluey. The lesson that failure is needed in order to succeed is always a great one to learn, but what got me is the idea that just because you have a different or unconventional way of doing things, doesn’t mean it’s wrong. Each of the kids has to think outside of the box to solve their problem and is never mocked by Bluey or Bandit, instead applauded. As a perfectionist, this hits home.

    I like the episode a lot! It was almost like I was there watching Bingo, Bentley, and Muffin go through the same struggles that had once. I still struggle with the monkey bars and I can relate to a lot of things of wishing “why can’t do it straight away?!”. I was rooting for the kids to get through their struggles; including Bluey at the end because I can also relate on the very last scene of this episode that I once struggled on riding my bike. My brother still has trouble with riding bikes and I can relate to him like how I feel as struggling when I was younger. I believe that there’s at least SOME type of struggle we go through wether is it’s something so simple like walking, putting on backpacks, and throwing things properly or something complex like solving a rubix cube, solving riddles, or climbing up trees. It’s a very good way to teach kids, teenagers, and maybe even adults how there’s times where we will struggle with something but there will always be a way to solve those issues if we could look in a different angle or think outside of the box. It’s a beautiful episode and I STILL love the editing you put in your videos! The AJR instrumental in the background really sets the mood right!

    When Blue says "but that's easy" when talking about Muffin putting her backpack on, it hits me hard as I was diagnosed with dyslexia very late only being diagnosed at 18 with many people talking about things being easy when they weren't for me. Then seeing how Muffin finds a way that works for her rather than the "easy way" everyone else does it, makes me think of how I had to find so many different ways to make things work that would look strange/odd from anyone elses perspective. It just makes me well up seeing this being shown.

At 24 after moving out on my own I'm having to learn all at once that things will be ok even if I fail painfully hard. I have learned; I don't need much heating in the winter, I don't have to wait until I feel 100% ready to be able to do things that are hard for me, I'll be ok even if I can't afford my favorite foods, that I can keep going even if my dream career gets smashed to pieces, and that even 1 good friend can make a world of difference.
    While my parents never taught me that failure is a valid option they taught me something far more important.

    I know this is super unrelated but for my final in my ASL class I’m gonna be signing a childhood story. This video made me think of when I was a kid, and I learned to ride a bike. My dad tried to help, my mom tried to help, but I just couldn’t get it. They went inside to take a break and I tried the bike again, but I crashed into a tree. I got up and looked around, my legs and hands were all bloody and I was covered in dirt but I picked up the bike and looked around again. Nobody had seen it so I just went again and got it a few hours later. I remember before that, I felt so terrible because my neighbor friend, who was a year younger than me, claimed he’d learned to ride his bike when he was four (and my 8y/o brain believed him). I couldn’t stop thinking about how it was weird that he could do it but I couldn’t. And of course we all forgot about it the next day and my parents were proud of me for figuring it out on my own.

Honestly if you can find a teacher take the opportunity because I’m not sure if I’m gonna be able to take another semester since my teacher is retiring. It’s a difficult course to find a teacher for but I definitely recommend taking the opportunity if it comes!

      Haha that’s great to hear buddy; maybe someday you’ll try it yourself, the creators said when making this show they wanted it to be for all age demographics so if you do choose to watch it you’ll be surprised with what it has to offer. Lots of deeper dialogues such as death, infertility, miscarriages, neurodivergence, and many more. I think you’d love it and even if you don’t then I hope your kid loves it

    The hardest task adults are facing with children growing frustrated over failure to a point where they want to give up is remembering: We had to learn it ourselves. It is easy in hindsight but never beforehand.
    I work in a daycare with toddlers and though one might think it ghets easier to remember - it doesn't.

    I want to ask, is the VPN shown here good? I would like to get a VPN, but so many are out there, and I don't want to waste money on a bad VPN, or try a free one and it being even worst too, I just want a good and safe VPN, as I hate geo-blocking, and want to be able to watch Bluey and other shows with out having to wait for them to show up on Disney+ or be censored or not even appear for whatever reason

    • @Pugly
      @Pugly  Рік тому +1

      I’ll be honest I’ve tried free vpn and I can never find one that is free and does Australia servers. Now my needs for a vpn are very basic to be frank, I just want to watch bluey, I don’t think about the other perks of it, so I always try to go for the cheapest option. Atlas as far as I’m aware is the cheapest one as well as being simple to use, just a button press and it’s doing its job ya know lol. I’ve heard people having problems with the mobile version of atlas vpn but for me as someone who uses the computer version I’ve never had a problem. If you do decide to get it I would really consider watching Aussie girls video on how to use a vpn on the abc website because she explains the account setup you need to do for the website and that is a little specific haha. Best of luck buddy :)

    Here are three steps to overcome failure and succeed:
    Step One: Figure out what emotions is holding you back from achieving something (like sadness, anger, upset, frustration or rage) after you keep failing at the task that you are trying to accomplish.
    Step Two: Calm yourself down by trying to compose yourself through asking these questions: "How can I do the task differently?", "Are there any ways that I can do the task?" or "Is there some quality I see in myself that others don't have?"
    Step Three: Once you figure out a solution to the problem, try again and you finally succeed after many attempts and fails!

    The only thing(s) that I dislike about this episode is how Bandit and Bluey occasionally giggle or even straight up laugh at Muffin. Now, I understand her dizziness might’ve been a little funny, in an endearing way, so although I don’t necessarily like or agree with it, it’s more understandable, and I can let it slide. But Bandit subtly laughing at her inability to get the bag on isn’t OK, and what’s especially not OK is Bluey and Bandit both laughing at Muffin’s meltdown. The kid was in pain, and neither of them stopped to comfort her or showed any empathy toward her pain. It’s still a good episode, but I don’t like the laughing.

    This episode was beyond masterful; the multiple perspective storytelling, the anthology within the three, the fact the three girls managed to achieve their purpose by creative problem-solving, Ode to Joy satisfactingly playing on the background, the fact Bandit tought his daughter to never give up without even standing (that requires some skill), the adorableness... Just EPIC
