At approximately midnight on Sunday morning, an Exhaust Fan caught fire in the 1100 Block of S 4th Ave in the city of Avondale. Firefighters from Avondale and Goodyear responded to the house. When firefighters arrived they encountered heavy smoke, Firefighters attacked the fire with handlines and were able to extinguish the fire quickly with little damage or exposure to the home itself. All occupants of the home made out safely.
Avondale & Goodyear fire remained on the scene till utility workers could come out to check the home to be sure the home was secure for the residents to go back in.
