- Life on a farm is a load of crap! And I have TONS of it to move today! To make the job easier, I bought a new tine bucket for the Farmall 656, and it works great. Afterwards, it's time to feed the cattle (they look a whole lot shorter, BTW), and take care of other chores on the farm.

Mr. Pete, I adore your sense humor. Thanks for sharing a day in your life. I hope to one day get to a place similar to yours.
This was indeed strangely satisfying to watch. lol You have a natural knack for editing videos so that they are never boring or drag out too long. That's a gift Pete. Even with bad jokes thrown in. lol :) You and Hillary make a great team, by the way. :)
Indeed, the chimney is through the roof. Too expensive for the roof to contain😂😂😂
Hey Pete 👋 I'd definitely watch a 15 minute video of you trying to open a gate. It would be full of wonderful facts and figures of the breaking strain if differing chain sizes and the best way to use bolt cutters, the history of 'D' clips or carabiner's and the best way to screw in base boards for deep bedding packs. Anyway, I really enjoyed the video as it was,,,,OOOH ‼️ the sneaky peek of the MD with the lovely white decals....beautiful and shiny. Take care and all the best from the UK 🇬🇧 ❤. PS God Love Hillary for doing all she does for everyone ❤
It's that time of year again when Pete is full of it!
Boy that new attachment for your 656 makes such a big difference. I've used a rock bucket in the past to help take out manure packs, and that's worked pretty good too !
Your md looks beautiful with the decals !
Thanks for the video Pete !
There is just something about cleaning the pen for the first time in the spring. The scent is just something refreshing. I was a little sad to see that you have the decals on the MD without a video of how you do them but DANG it looks really good with them.
The decals on the MD look awesome Pete!
That's what I also noticed does he have a video how he did it
@@MegaKg9 He mentioned a decal kit purchased in the final assembly video. But I don't believe he has a video on him doing the process. Pretty amazing job restoration job, the sticker kit brings that MD to life!
I seriously love the horrible "dad jokes". Reminds me of... Two fish were sitting in a tank. One looks at the other and days, "Do you know how to drive this thing?". 😬 Love the new manure bucket. Did a fantastic job. I'm looking for one similar but more grapple style. Gotta get fall compost working. I'm not gonna even start on fertilizer costs...
same fish ran into a concrete structure under water & said "Dam"
@@steveschumacher5470 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😭
@@lynnie6-. I have both horses and cattle. Just need the time and energy to strip the barns and pile for it to start composting down over the summer. A similar type of implement like his manure fork would go so much easier than bucket/pan. It's a never ending job. Ha!
After a long day at my desk and computer working here in the Netherlands, I oddly find immense pleasure watching cow manure being shovelled out of a stall. Thanks for sharing this (seriously). Always love your videos.
Looking forward to seeing the cows go out to pasture in a month or so. The MD looks great!
never seen an older man like you have such a amazing sense of humor and personality 😅😅😅
Man, I’d love to just come spend the day with you…even on poop cleanup day haha You make everything, even the stinky jobs, seem enjoyable. Thanks for another great video!
POOP OCCURS! Poor Hil, she get's all the crappy jobs. Be nice to your bride! I know you are nice to her!
As a young boy, I remember Dad never liked to see Grandpa come visit, after coming for a day & touring the farm with us, he commented " them calves shouldn't have to worry about high water & the corn ought to do well, its got plenty of grass to feed on". In later years, I understood why Dad felt the way he did.
Does the yellow bucket last very long hauling diesel!?
When is the manure pile ready for the field
I was raised on a farm in the 50-60's. This was a task we did in the spring and again in the fall. I can still smell that event! I loved growing up on a farm, but had not interest in making my living that way. Spreading manure was the source of a family legend. My Grandpa had a habit of showing up at my folks farm to haul manure on Thanksgiving morning! My mom and Grandma took exception to that, which may explain why grandpa continued to do it. He had an old John Deere "A" ( SORRY PETE) with a single front end and a cable driven loader. I was never allowed to use it, because it was very easy to tip over. I have no regrets about not farming, but your posts are fun to watch because they do reming me of those days and the folks who were there.
I love nd this is so true I’m young but I still want to farm
That was the best DAD joke I have heard in along long time. Plus, I love it when an idea like the manure bucket works like a charm
Oh yes that’s such a beautiful aroma you know it’s spring the heat is rising and the aroma of hay is in the air🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just love the smell of cleaning out the barn.
Did I just watch a whole 15 minute video about a guy moving cow poop from one place to another? Sure did! Did I wholeheartedly enjoy said video? Sure did! Thanks Pete. Good stuff as usual, although perhaps glad smell-o-vision isn’t a thing.
Good video. It's good you got a new tool. The MD looks good. Hope y'all have a great week stay safe.
I can see those new manure forks have paid for themselves. Can't wait to see the MD in action!
Your humor always makes me laugh ...great way to start ones day...Thanks :)
Pete my 2 year old son loves your videos if we are watching TV he screams that he wants to watch "tractors" and he is talking about you. He sits so happily and content and watches away with amazement he truly loves to watch your UA-cam channel.
That is awesome Daniel!
Your MD turned out beautiful. Great restoration job Pete!
I’ve been waiting for this video ever since you said something in a previous video about cleaning up the bed pack! Call me crazy but I also love the smell of cow manure. Couldn’t help but notice the MD decals and that seriously looks amazing! All around awesome video like always Pete! P.s we are getting closer to hay season!! Can’t wait! Have a good one Pete can’t wait to see what you have in store next!
Compared to the smell of pig manure, cow manure does smell sweet but we used to say the pig manure smelled like money.
@@markenge9348 for sure on the cow manure. On money and pig manure, is that literal? Or is there some hidden meaning. I suppose it could mean the worse it smells, the more money you get for your pigs.
@@johnwythe1409 "Smells like money" was the not too literal reply you made to people's disparaging remarks about you being a pig farmer. When working with pigs one soon becomes nose blind to the smell, and the stink will get on you and stay on you without your being aware of it. My cousin told me once he got cleaned up and went to town and sat down in a restaurant. The people at the next table asked the waiter to find them another table for them to sit at. The best remedy for that problem was baking soda. Always keep a box in the shower and apply liberally as you soap up your entire body including your hair.
I can definitely contribute to that and confirm that is completely correct. After while you don’t hardly notice the smell off pigs.
Love your channel! Your humour, stories, life, and Wife are wonderful! Thank you for sharing 👍🏻
Been there with a pitchfork love your comments have a great day and always be happy
Thank you for your video's I've been watching you for about a year and my wife and I just inherited her old family farm I've been doing lots of research and we have decided to take the plunge and start farming I can't thank you enough for your inspiration I hope and pray I'm as successful as you and your family I will continue to watch your videos for more advice again thank you I hope one day I get the opportunity to thank you in person I hope soon we will have our own UA-cam channel for our farm however we are not going to raise animals to sell just veggies and fruits and hay we both grew up farming now we are going back to our roots
It's nice to see Hillary in your videos always look forward to them with you two together so what's happening with the yard walkers and they're cackleberries
Great Dad joke Chimneys are thru the roof 🤣🤣
Congratulations on the new bucket Pete. I really wish i had a tractor with a loader occasionally. Does come up often, but it does come up.
Oh! You woke the pigs!!😂 It was so cute to see them all resting🤣
Now that's what you call deep bedding in barns.
Great video, have a nice day!
Thanks for the cheap therapy, Pete and Hillary.
MD looking good with the decals
That tractor does a shit ton of work 😉
I dont know what it is but doing stuff with a tractor is super satisfying. In highschool I worked as a maintenance/groundskeeper at my highschool and loved moving piles of woodchips, grading the road etc. Just super satisfying.
@7:50 timestamp... thank you for that Pete! You made my freaking day! 🥰
A little muddy! When is a dirty job you get Hillary.....that's not nice Pete! I want to see you treating her like a beautiful flower that she is🤗🤗
My dad had a bucket like that on his Farmall H back in the 60's. He had a solid piece that would slide on over the spikes to make it into a regular bucket. Watching you brings back a lot of memories even though you are about the age of my children 🙂.
I remember those days back in the 40's. We farmed with horses. All winter long we forked that stuff out the door onto a pile. In the spring we forked it into the spreader and on to the field, Yes I think I can still smell it and see the little thin red earth worms crawling through it. Sure would have been nice to have all that modern equipment that you have back then,
Thanks for the videos Pete, keep them coming I do enjoy them.
I like the chimney joke.
I really love when you channel comes on because I get to learn something and it makes me happy . Keep putting them out pete

Another great day at just a few acres!
Who else here farms and still gets excited to get on youtube and watch somebody else farming?
Great dad joke, Thanks
I worked my summers on my uncle's farm growing up in upstate New York!! I enjoy watching you and Hillary farming !!! Good Videos THANKS
The MD looks great with the decals on!! I really enjoyed that series of videos and learned a lot. I’m looking forward to the next tractor you do.
Thank's for the video.
High peak boy that bucket sure is nice
international tractors have been around forever, extremely reliable with more than enough power to do every job on the farm.
Some of those jokes are tougher than woodpecker lips! Love your channel
Hi Pete. You asked for feedback on future content ideas. I enjoy watching you and millennial farmer on you tube. I have recently lost interest in Millenial because he has been playing vacation videos all winter. Snooze! I like your field videos as well as the animals and moving them all around the farm. I like the tractor repairs also. But please don't just post to post. You are very good at explaining and showing up close how stuff works. That's awesome. Thanks for listening. Hello to Hillary.
I really enjoy your videos. Keep them coming.
Chimneys......through the roof......love it
I like how funny Pete is. 🙂
well done Pete and Hillary. ty.
Hilary's smile is like a sunshine:))) I hope you know how lucky you are to have her by your side!
Brings back many great memories as I grew up on a mixed farm in northwest Alberta, Canada.
That MD is a thing of beauty! I’d have a hard time taking her out on anything but smooth pavement!
Lord when you startled the sleeping piggies, i outright cackled. Good thing i was alone at work!!
Chimneys thru thr roof…WAY too easy Pete!🤔😄
I had my headphones on watching your video, my wife said something so I paused and took them off and said I’m watching my favorite UA-camr move manure. So that was a failed attempt at sharing my enthusiasm.
We had to shovel it buy hand , dad said that was all we needed. That was not my favorite job. The title sounds like Washington lol 😂.
hi pete love the vids they are always good to listen to while looking for tractors on facebook haha thanks for making these videos!
What a sweet implement for your chores! Great news on the herd's health too. Congrats.
Moving manure is like any other chore, most of the time you neither like or hate it, it just has to be done. And yes even after 40 years from being on the farm I can still smell the smells of both fresh and fermented manure and it still doesn't disgust me it's just something that's there.
Wow Pete that is a heck of a deep bed method for the winter wow that is some deep Doodoo😂😂😂😂
I'm looking forward to hay season to see that great looking MD working .
Drove to stste college pa yesterday from central pa. Sweet smelling country air all the way.!! Spring is here!!
Love the small farming life and poops part of it...but sir, when your garden segment is done please show us all the 2 year old manure pile that is full of red worms ready for the garden.
Thanks.
Good job Pete! Nasty nasty job, put you took it like a real trooper!! Can't wait to see your pastures come spring! Pretty and green!!!
Love your channel Pete! I just love watching you work around the farm. A big shoutout to Hillary too 👋
that manure bucket was a great investment. amazing how short it made the cattle. the pigs look great. that dad joke was soo bad it was great.HAHAHAHAHAHA. nice to hear the herd is healthy. and with the onset of spring we're all getting busy.
For the people that might complain about the dull colors in the video. For me it gives off a really 1970ish vibe and I love it. Speaking of fuel prices. People are afraid that the 1973 fuel crises would happen again but this time it would be far worse then in 1973. It's not a joke and I try not to think about it. However I have a Soviet newspaper article from 1974 that has a title: Fuel crises in the west- the end of Capitalism? I guess somethings in this world don't change even after 45+ years.
Happy Spring Pete! Thanks 😊
Another great one, Pete. My first look at the MD with its new stickers. Sharp machine!
Oh that MD! What a stunner!😍
Good morning too both of you!!
Wow love the manure fork and the chimney joke!
Congrats on the new bucket
You sound in better spirits, hopefully things are working themselves out for you.
That manure was certainly easier to manage with the new fork, looks like you made a great choice getting it. Those little pigs aren't so little anymore, going to make some good hams out of those fat butts. I enjoyed your video, as always it's good to see the farm work, especially when someone else does it besides me. Thanks for sharing Pete, have a nice week and a great weekend ahead.
I love your relationship with the pigs!
I like that Bucket
Always have enjoyed the smell of manure. A former neighbor would spread it on his fields and to me it had a earthy smell. Miss those days....
Looks good 500 farmers just ordered that manure bucket the royalties are in the mail thanks Pete
Impressive driving with one hand! I know having 3 or 4 while driving a tractor with a bucket would be nice!
I thought the same thing. Looks like an art more than a science.
The new forks worked good, and the old MD looks GREAT!! I sure wish it were mine. and this is not an offer to buy it either. One thing I have to proud of you for sure, You use a lot of bedding for your animals, a sign of care for them. Well Done.
I enjoy your UA-cam act so much every day I look for new post
I think all the videos are great the last video I watched you asked our opinion, on what we like to see the most. I think all of it is great and my father-in-law had a place where your Farmers Market is located we live in Florida. Tampa Bay. And love taking our small boat out. We love your show. And find it all educational and fun. Whatever you choose to show. Is wonderful. Thank you great job.
Hi Pete, first time commenter, medium term lurk. Have you ever thought about the Joel salatin deep bedding method? Basically what you've done but as the bedding builds up he puts corn amongst the bedding. The cows will stomp silage / hay int the bedding too as waste fodder. After the cattle leave, he introduces the pigs. The pigs then turn over all the manure and bedding/wood chips and aerate the compacted manure. They do the tractor's work in other words, without moving it to a pile elsewhere. It speeds up the decomposition rate and gives the pigs a job to do so they can earn their place before they're butchered. Keep up the videos, I really enjoy them.
I'm jealous. All I had was a pitch fork and a wheel barrow when I was kid.
HEY! Pete! Don't quit your day job.
God bless you farming is a hard and dirty job. You have a great sense of humor also. I enjoy your videos.
That new manure fork is alright. I'd add a grapple, to add to it's capacity. Doesn't look like it holds near what the bucket does.
The only thing that would work better would be a shear grab, but that would require more hydraulic pressure, so I think you chose wisely.
Yay! Spring is here. Things are warming up out here in Colorado too! Thanks for the video. "The Lord bless you and keep you!"
