And in India, our maids keep tap open in full speed for 1 hour as an average to wash utensils. We wash our balconies, entrance floor with high speed water pipes instead of just cleaning by broom. Our maids and gaurds waste water on every day and nobody even thinks about it.
I think the biggest issue is what happens next. Water goes back to be "recycled" again by waste management, which uses a *ton* of energy. The more water used flippantly, the more extra energy is used to process it again. There are arguments about fresh water shortages all over the world, and even clean water shortages here in the US (like in Flynt, MI where they *still* haven't fixed the problem), but I have a hard time making the connection between that and anything we can do at home. Again, it's more of an energy consumption issue to me.
