@THE DESTROYER Inception is complicated because of it's plot but The Dark Knight is complex because of the hidden meaning of morality.
@@Hritik9000 I agree, The Dark Knight (trilogy in particular) is complicared because of its morality, more so than inception. But... It can't compete with Interstellar. A film that still doesn't receive its due.

Interstellar means a lot to me as well. It is entertaining yet so emotional. Always bring tears to my eyes. I watch it whenever I can. When I saw it first in IMAX and the melody started with the cornfield scene. Jesus I have to watch it again as I am writing this :D

Christopher Nolan has always included an element of time in his movie, and I think the groundwork for "TENET" was laid in his second film "MEMENTO" with its parallel editing (that's all I will say, for those who haven't seen it).

Yes, 'Tenet' was that good! I have seen it twice, and by Friday a third time. My wife won't watch the film with me and I think its because she knows I'll spend hours talking to her about it! It is an awesome film! I now feel I missed something by not watching Inception! John David Washington is a humble man, I can tell his father is Denzel! Christopher Nolan, you are the man!

This is what interviewers should be like - I wish there was more time, because I could listen for hours to Chris Nolan's answers to such thoughtful questions. He always warms my heart and opens my mind!
Nolan is a true visionary! He is a scientist, physicist, and thinker that so happens to be in a writer and directors body. All of the 'what ifs' that exist in our world and reality that I constantly think about, he seems to create complex stories that feed right into my interests. He is the only movie writer and director that creates stories that I can truly get immersed in that world that always leaves me asking 'what if?'

I’ve seen a decent amount of his videos, and the other guys at cinemablend. Love their stuff. What I really love is I never bothered to remember his name. Then Chris just effortlessly drops it at the end. All the knowledge in that man’s head, and he still cares enough to make his interviews personal, and meaningful. Probably made Kevin’s day (haha, thanks Chris. Now I know his name).

In every way even in the title this film has genius written all over it.

So, Interstellar is my favourite Nolan film and my all time favourite film. Followed closely by Inception and The Dark Knight. I haven't watched Tenet yet, so, tell me will Tenet lie in my top 3, replacing one of the films or will it lie outside of my top 3?
Adam Hendrickson imo ( this is what happend to me ) it will take you a little bit of time to understand The movie, so at first it won’t be top3. But after you start to get it , it will def go top 3 . 😉 Because at The end of The day this movie is not that hard to understand

I think it’ll lie outside the top 3? Your top 3 Nolan films are the same as mine and maybe it’ll change if I watch it a few more times but as much as I was impressed with Tenet, by the story, music, acting... I think it lacks a certain heart? Or a certain element that keeps you emotionally engaged which I think kinda makes a movie more impactful on a person...

But about Interstellar, people need to realize something. It's not really Chris Nolan's invention. Yes, he helped the script, he had massive input because he was chosen to direct it. But it wasn't his initial idea, it wasn't his 'baby' so to speak, unlike Inception, Prestige, Tenet etc.
Exactly. It was originally written by his brother (Jonathan Nolan) and only him, and was meant for Steven Spielberg to direct.
The Prestige isn't Nolan's original idea - it's based on a novel of the same name by Christopher Priest
You're right and since tenet is his baby idea I'm hoping he wants to turn it into a franchise(well more like a trilogy)...or at least make a sequel

I’ve been thinking about how to approach this review on Tenet without giving the impression of bashing the movie or hating on it. Cause I did like this movie but I certainly have a lot to say. Let’s start with this, I was like everyone else with Tenet. I was super excited, who wouldn’t be! Christopher Nolan directing, big budget summer blockbuster, with a complex plot, awesome trailer and a great cast! I’ve been waiting for this movie for a long time and as soon as I found a showtime for my city I decided I had to go. So I saw Tenet and I have to say, this is a Christopher Nolan movie. It has his style of direction all over it. The complex and dense plot, big action spectacles and a long runtime. Will people like it, most likely unfortunate for me not so much. What really bothered me about this movie was the plot and how Nolan told this story. It didn’t feel cohesive or even understandable really but rather very confusing, rushed and the outcome of it all made me question what was the purpose of all that just happened. Even some of the plot points of this movie that kinda make sense doesn’t actually do. Like I didn’t really know much about the villain or his goals and there wasn’t enough character development to him other than a cliche evil plan, him being just a jerk but the actor who portrays him did a good job. The acting of this character gave an impression of unintentionally being funny and entertaining. But a lot of this movie felt like it was trying to be an extravaganza of action scenes, set pieces and dazzling spectacles. Luckily It does accomplish that though, a lot of the times. The action is really well done and does a lot of the spectacles. I just wish that the movie presented a more compelling story, because it felt as though it was kinda trying too. The story, plotting and even sometimes the screenplay felt so jumbled throughout the entire runtime. It tries to be so intellectual and complex but at the end it didn’t succeed at it. Overall Tenet wasn’t as great as I hoped for but, big and sometimes fun action scenes, good acting, sound design, and the look of the movie are all positives for Tenet. Maybe I just wasn’t smart enough to appreciate all this movie had to offer and that’s unfortunate, but I did have some fun with Tenet and think most people will enjoy it.
