- Join me today on my Kuala Lumpur cost of living grocery haul. We are staying at the Star Residences in KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Center). The grocery store is in the Avenue K Mall nearby, it is the Village Grocer. So far we are loving Malaysia.
So very much like the Asian food superstores near where I live in NYC. Westerners like me can happily live on what is available in these stores! Everything you want, plus things you never knew existed. Thanks for sharing. Robert in NYC.
The cost also depends which store you go to. As a local, village grocer and Jaya grocer is high end. Imported stuff

I really enjoy your video hopefully I can move to Asia from San Francisco, CA. That Boncafe is $ 8.00 USD, so definitely more here. Ground beef 90% lean at Whole Foods it cost $ 9.49 per pound here in San Francisco. America has gotten very expensive recently.

Enjoyed the video! Whenever I've traveled abroad, I've never really been anywhere long enough to go grocery shopping. Looks like the Village Grocer had a really good selection of items! Do they have a deli section as well? I saw you walked past the cheese area. One of these days I'd like to visit KL. I've "worked" there for years remotely for multiple companies. One question...did the room/apartment come with 2 fridges? 1 for the minibar and one for your use?
There were pre packaged deli items in the meat department as well as cut to order in the non halal section of the store. We have one full size fridge, no mini fridge. It’s a great city with lots to do you would enjoy it.
Vegetables? Did they also sell fresh vegetables?
I used to work at Village Grocer for one day before I quit because I got a better job offer the very next day 🤭🤭🤭
