- After more than a year of never ever doing something like this ever again, I recount my experience in participating in a 14 day game jam with PewDiePie. Obviously, a huge thank you to Felix -- it was an incredible honor.

For anyone who wants to click that link - DO IT. I'm like 20% through the FTGD course and am loving it. Thomas is a super good teacher and I already have a Steam page set up for my future game, which I NEVER would have thought I would be able to do. Two thumbs waaaay up.

I just realized how important that game for me is. Not only did I found out about your fantastic channel through this crossover game, BUT I also got the motivation to learn the game development by myself! I mean, turning this idea into a reality in 2 weeks is truly one of the best inspirations for anyone.

Honestly I love this channel it always gives me so much motivation to push on with my own projects because I know one day, I’ll get there. I just have to keep pushing and pushing. I don’t want this journey to end by any means but I do want to hit important milestones and I’ll only hit them with perseverance and hard work!

I didn't realise this collaboration actually took place. It just goes to show what taking a leap of faith is able to do for you. We reap what we sow and you have shown this to be the case, many times now. I can only imagine the pressure you must have felt whilst creating this game. You pulled it off, so well done! I do agree that we are responsible for our own destiny. A fellow guitarist also I see. I have to ask, do you ever write and record music for any of your games?

I remember doing something similar with an old platformer game - staying on the game development all day and night - and it was HELL! The game even got corrupted later, so I ain't doing that ever again...

It was fun watching it be made!! You should do another 2 week challenge + live stream. Maybe use a random game generator and make a game of what every comes up, and then add stuff from live stream viewers votes?

I live in Iran, some people don't believe this but computer parts are 25 times more expensive here than in countries like United State or Canada, just do a quick search and see it yourself, it's really hard to live. sometimes i just wanna quit and just give up ... : (
what finally got me to stop making excuses and learn how to make games. I'm currently in a job I'm not particularly fond off and I'm always looking forward to my break time, so I can continue working on my game 🙂 thanks for the push I needed Thomas!
At the time, I was learning Java at school. We didn't use it in practical situations, only in theory. I thought that I only know the basics so I couldn't create anything with it. And then you started working on Pewdiepie's game. Man, I watched all of the streams and I was so hyped. I thought to myself - if he is making a game this great in 14 days and in his basement, maybe I could try that too.
I started learning Unity, and I realized that C# was so familiar so my Java skills were good enough to build something after all!
Around the same time, we were asked to create art for academy work. I immediately knew I want to develop a game. A friend came to help and worked on the art, and I wrote the code. We work on it for 2 months. We created 3 levels, a couple of cutscenes, and a boss fight. Your game was the inspiration!
We got an A+ score and our game was sent to the Ministry of Education in our country to show it to other students. We were so proud. I proved to myself that I am good enough to create something good.
After that, I was offered to join Cosmic Duck Games, where I am till today :)
We are working on a space-pirates game called Solar Sails.
All of this because you inspired me. Thanks, Thomas!

13:48 that's exactly how I reacted while playing neversong :c if anyone has played it on the keyboard it's a real pain because you're forced to use the mouse to attack, but I use the arrows to move AND still have to jump with the space bar u_u having someone like pewdiepie experience the same thing means we're not wrong at all, thomas you reallly need some advice from someone else playing your games before the release, no offense meant.

Zero Deaths was a great game idea, even the title is amazing. I watched almost every live stream. Pewdiepie got his 100 million subs and we won the war. Good Times

I did a degree in game design which taught me nothing. I took a QA job on a one month contract, worked 17 hour shifts, left QA job for a girlfriend and more money, she dumped me and the job was terrible, ended up being the worst decision in my life and most depressing year ever, went back into QA, worked my ass off, now Im a game design at an amazing studio. If I can do it ANYONE can do it. Take Thomas's advice, take it one step and a time and keep going.
