I always wanted to see that being done!! From the looks of it, despite whats being said in the video, it's definitely a two man job....but that IS what friends are for, eh? Great video boys!
As a envious viewer, I love this plane. It tics all the boxes for fun, sporty, and inexpensive flying. And the crazy small footprint for storage is a definate plus. Regarding the work involved in folding the wings; Ben Kairys seems to handle his Firefly's wings singled handed and can do it in well under 10 minutes. Go check out his channel. Pretty cool content.
I don’t believe it’s one of the easiest aircraft to fold up but with one person but it folds up none the less. With a little practice I bet you can get it done quite quickly and safely. I wouldn’t want to have to bring another person with me to help me assemble and disassemble my aircraft in the field. If I had another owner that would be willing to bring their aircraft out with me and we could go flying together that would workout well for the both of us and my wife could do what she wanted to do instead of having to help me with my aircraft. I think I need to get together with other local Kolb aircraft owners to enjoy our aircraft. This completed Kolb aircraft looks amazing and solid! I would slide into its cockpit and take it flying every chance I got!! Sorry wife but the sky is calling me and I’m answering the call! See ya!!
I fold mine by myself, instead of holding up the wing tip I lay it on the ground and secure the front wing pin then I lift the wing tip and put the strut in.
Amos Chupp There’s always a way of converting a two man job to a one man job. It may be slower and take some ingenuity, but it can nearly always be done. Good on ya!
That sound your hat makes when it goes through the prop :)
Didn't go through the prop - he caught it.
I thought it was a hat too!
Perfect for attaching easily and safely..on back of..50' sailboat ⛵️ 👌

I like how Dwayne's bandage matches the plane's color scheme.
Oh man! Your hat!
