  • This auger motor bracket is designed to stop the flop when your auger is running, making it cut through pellets more efficiently. In the long term this should extend the life of your auger motor.

    Had to fix my grill when got moisture in the auger cylinder and bricked it up with pellets. While it was apart I was surprised how flimsy the motor was installed inside. Bought this bracket to fix what Pit Boss should’ve designed better in the first place.

    I'm looking at a solution for the drip tray that sits on the right side of the smoker where the broiler plate sits and drips the grease to the bucket. Mine is rusted out and the broiler tray can barely sit on it anymore.

    Dennis, is this required for all new Pellets Pro smokers; particularly the PPV-2300? Or, do you have an effectively date for cut in?

    • @dallashahn3410

      The PPV-2300 are coming with a different kind of motor that is already attached to the hopper assembly. This bracket is for existing hopper assemblies to help stabilize the motor.
      The new motor is pictured in the listing for the PPV-2300

    Why do you only send 2 bolts to attach the plate to the new USA made auger motor when there are 4 holes? Thanks

    • @Smokedaddyinc
      @Smokedaddyinc  Рік тому

      I believe that we missed the four bolts to attach to the motor in your order the 2 bolts that come with it are to attach the bracket to the auger shelf. If you give us a call we can definitely get the additional bolts out for you. We are sorry for the mistake.

    The free floating motor is by design, because the augers have an inherent amount of wobble or run out, and can also bind up. When the the auger wobbles, the motor is able to move around to get past the wobble. If the motor is mounted solid, all that auger wobble and resistance is sent directly to motors internals. Which will over time will wear out the motor. Watch the motor sometime when the auger is running. You'll see the hole motor move around to absorb the augers less than perfect tolerances.

      The floating motor has been an issue for many years. By mounting it more securely I believe gives you a better feed rate and helps to cut the harder pellets easily. If the auger shaft is not bent, there should be no wobble Thanks for your comments?

      @@DennisCorrea At eye level, roll any auger across a flat surface, and you will visually see warpage in the auger. Gaps between the auger and the flat surface, and the attached welded shaft moving up and down. It especially gets worse with heat, over time.

      That's exactly how I check it. If you can spin the auger with your fingers while it's in the white bushing, that's good. If it seems to be a little tight, you can always open the hole up a little bit on the white bushing.
