- Video showing how to fill a dent in a motorcycle gas tank with Bondo. The video only shows the first layer. I later built it up again and feathered the edges down with 1200 grit. If you can feel or see an edge it will show up in the paint later so take your time and sand the edges carefully after getting your basic shape with the lower grits.
YOU NEED A BLOCK...BE IT PAINT STICK..OR SOMETHING...YOUR HAND WILL FOLLOW THE CONTOURS AND TOUGH TO GET RID OF THE DENT....
Totally agree. Sanding block must be used or the technique you are demonstrating will follow the contours of your fingers and show up as wavey in the final paint.
I’m an actual body work person and I’m not stoked about your technique. It was tough to deal with, but I learned.
Is there a way to bondo over that logo area so you don't have to put it back on?
you could totally do that, just make the curves right.
IF YOU PLAN TO..USE SHORT STRAND FIBERGLASS FILLER AS BASE LAYER...80 GRIT THE AREA FOR TOOTH...
you don't know what your doing
It's going to pop out within a year. You can't mix bonds pn cardboard.
Also. You will leave fibgee marks by not using a sanding block.
terrible video
Awesome simple video ill let yall know if the glue trick works too
Hai fatto quella presentazione per poi riempire con dello stucco?
Nice rock wall!
that tank is beautiful....how did you get it so clean and bare
Lots of sanding. Paint stripper would have done it too though. I rode the bike with no paint on the tank for a year or two. Every few months I'd rub a very light coat of oil on it and then wipe it off. That kept if from rusting. Looked cool bare... sort of like stainless.
You can buy some stuff at AutoZone called aircraft remover it's by Rust-Oleum it will melt paint and even body filler off
