Long story short - Jay-Z caught LL slacking and killed him. LL so animated about it, you can tell he wish he had that back. Him saying he didn’t have rhymes says a lot because Jay-Z mastered keeping so much material in his head.
He sure did and he admitted that he did it but should have handled it another way! He's saying, handle it in a better way. He should say that as an adult in our community! However, LL didn't realize at FIRST that Canibus wanted the beef, though. He wanted to use the beef as a money grab. He wanted a big producer guy to finance the situation for ill-gotten gains. Your dude wanted the issue to blow up, so it did.

I like what he's shown here, which is his own mind and his unique thinking, but walking with it in a way where he's not giving in to what others want. I'm reminded of what of either Big Daddy Kane or Rakim said when they were explaining how back in the day there was pressure for them to begin making records about each other, for that to develop into a situation. It can't be that you're living your life for what everyone else wants; a decision to do something should be because it's what you want, as in making records because you personally feel that it's the right thing. With thanks for the content.

I didn't know about the 1996 beef I did know about the beef when Jay-Z became president of Def Jam and Jay wasn't pushing LL album through at the time Jay was promoting himself, Jeezy, Rick Ross and Rihanna even though she isn't pure hip hop. Even DMX was mad about it. Jay kinda took out the popular 90's artist and made himself the veteran with younger artist under him smart move by Jay.
JAY didn’t take them out, the fans did, this was when hip hop changed. LL dropped his album, his first single was with Jlo who was hot at the time, they shot a video, promoted it but the single didn’t bring returns nobody bought the album and LL blamed Jay. Or if you a fan of the URL or how current battle rap is done on a stage an artist needs more than what you stated 💯
@@fairgamewithtjorum I still think Jay wins🤷🏿♂️
That was the longest explanation for a loss that I've ever heard.
LL you dissed him, just admit it. If you wrote lyrics in opposition of something Jay said then in rap that is considered a diss. Jay was on the come up, the streets was saying Jay was next up and you tried to squash him before he could rise but it didn't work and it's ok. Jay tried the same thing on other artists too.
Dude why don't you stop being a groupie
LL cool j basically saying that they caught him slipping as he was making money and had more on his plate than having multiple memorized rhymes to battle as he wasn't on battling on the corner anymore
@@TownBizznizzJS you're guzzling my j!zz right now. I'm done, move on.

I raised 75k and Christina Ann Tucker. is to be thanked. I got my self my dream car 🚗 just last weekend, My journey with her started after my best friend came back from New York and saw me suffering in dept then told me about her and how to change my life through her. Christina Ann Tucker.. Tucker is the kind of person one needs in his or her life! I got a home, a good wife, and a beautiful daughter. Note: this is not a promotion but me trying to make a point that no matter what happens, always have faith and keep living!
I know that woman(Christina Ann Tucker.)
If you were born and raised in new York you'd know too, No doubt she is the one that helped you get where you are!!!!
How do I get connection to this woman you speak about!!?
There is her line!!!! under this comment!!!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🔁
Respect to LL for what he’s done but Jay is in another league in both music and accomplishments.
This is a wild thing to say when Jay wouldn't have been able to make those accomplishments without a dude like LL paving the way.😊
@@elketerbentzadikReal talk.
Not with the music
LL is a Legend
He got stock in Lexus… you saying I can’t rap about Lexus 😂😂😂😂😂😂
“Why assume the worst?” 🤔Rewind to Canibus simply paying homage and getting his head ripped off by you…on your record!!🤣🤣
💯💪🏽😆🤦🏾♂️😑
Anytime someone refers to someone else as “that man” …. There’s definitely smoke there 😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
LL really didn't use that logic wth Canibus
Ooowee, the song Ain't No Stopping This is my jam! That is a good song to get motivated on... Yo LL, what up B?
LL a real one 💯 he been in the game he knows all the secrets of industry dudes 💯 LL don't mess with P.Diddy or Jay-Z. LL OG mentality respect know dudes didn't get there positions by their craft 💯. Love to see LL do a vs battle against Jay-Z or Eneienm, 50 cent. 50 cent always to me took others people image to make his mark like Curtis took the real Gangsta name 50 cent from 70's and 80's to early 90's. And Curtis Aka 50 cent took LL swag in music and flims industry they don't give real Legends there flowers like LL kool J.
Blows my mind that I was listening to LL in 87 and here I am in 2024 watching this video. Life really does pass you by!
Long story short - Jay-Z caught LL slacking and killed him. LL so animated about it, you can tell he wish he had that back. Him saying he didn’t have rhymes says a lot because Jay-Z mastered keeping so much material in his head.
😂😂😂😂😂your lost
@@Ronthaldd you mad LL lost. 😞
LL has those lyrics to but he was on young got old early 😂
Sounds like it. Man ll fired up. 30 years later like it was 3 days ago. Suprised the ripper ran out of rhymes.. but hey whatever
Well said. Thank you L for always bringing it real. This is it.

You got an LL interview! Niceeee

🔥🔥interview
Great interview, the energy was top tier. Now I go listen to more LL Cool J :D
LL is The 🐐
LL is so dope!! Always been. Both him and Hov is slick!
He assumed the worst wit canibus tho 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 come on L you the 🐐 but thats literally what you did to canibus
Your dude wanted the issue to blow up, so it did.
humility is important and respect for opponents is what makes this art amazing. we all have all lost at something, instead of excuses and saying this and that, just own it
Well LL obviously isn't over it 😂😂😂
Young LL was a MONSTER....this makes sense to me. He was already eating and they was hungry.
"Why assuming the worst" ... starts the Canibus beef ;)
I like how he put that!!! the G.O.A.T!
This right here actually makes me respect JayZ more because Jay aint NEVER brought this up in no songs or interviews
Neither did LL it was the goofy interviewing.. he took a L. End of story.
He just does things behind the scenes and nobody asks calls him out on his bullshit
@@asifamilyinvestments5052always the behind the scenes 😂😂😂
U don listen either he said Jay Z boy sauce was rhyming and Jay tried to follow suit but L ran out of shit to say but like cool J said he wasn't gonna beef with some peanut rappers who haven't done shit I think Jay z could've been the first Cannibus 😂😂 if he really wanted the smoke
Yeah right 😂😂Jay-Z been sneak dissing LL since writing foxy bells over rock the bell beat LL cool j was hurt than
LL COOL J OLD SCHOOL 🏁
I believe their believed tension is just like when two dominate animals are in the jungle and all the other weak ones just gossiping
I think this his way of saying if he wants to address it we can address it. But in his mind I bet he knows Jay tied to that diddy shit and basically saying it’s best we don’t even worry about each other and keep movin
@@Cipher0ptic24LL is known to deal with trannies he would have no room to talk
if Jay is tied to diddy them so is 95% of the hiphop industry
I like what he's shown here, which is his own mind and his unique thinking, but walking with it in a way where he's not giving in to what others want. I'm reminded of what of either Big Daddy Kane or Rakim said when they were explaining how back in the day there was pressure for them to begin making records about each other, for that to develop into a situation. It can't be that you're living your life for what everyone else wants; a decision to do something should be because it's what you want, as in making records because you personally feel that it's the right thing. With thanks for the content.
He reminds me of The Rock currently
Yea growing up I always thought Rock & LL were very alike. Both of them very Charismatic. They both have Mic control and can control the crowd. They have similar attitudes/personalities.
@@michaelclayton7603 I agree
@@michaelclayton7603 Same here, I always thought that. I remember seeing them interacting at some awards show, thought it was one of the coolest things at the time, as a fan of both.
I want to find contradictory statements but LL is still so smart and so relevant. real G
Sensitive says the man who did the samething to Cannibus🤷🏿
What I like about LL is he still performing and laying it down still showing up for hip hop he doesn’t let the fame and money go to his head he still doing it and doing and doing again he’s the man
Is CTG gaslighting LL to get in his feelings about Hov?? 🤔
I love LL’s perspective. It’s like lighten up. People get crazy over stupid stuff. It’s just playing around.
Big fan of LL…but he gotta hold that L. This was like Kobe or Bron going up to Prime MJ and dogging him in a pick up game.
Not bron But Yea Kobe especially in the 1998 season
LL definitely the Big homie when it comes to rap but he reacted crazy when it came to cannibus so he understands how things look when you do certain things
Everybody running their mouth about hov, once jigga cuts them dreads off he putting out an album.and all of you gonna get it.dont let his silence fool you😮😮.
😂dead
I love these interviews will L...this is hip hop history😂😂
LL: Brothers be so sensitive
LL: Proceeds to be the most sensitive brother I’ve ever heard in an interview.
LOL
It's funny how he said that's not a diss, but he started ac whole beef with Canibus for doing the same thing
This is one time I respect about Nas and Jayz
I have NEVER had them blame anybody whenever they made a bad album

@josephkanu2778 Jay wasn't president then he was president in 2004-2007 that LL cool J and J Lo song came out in 2002 and those weren't my words DMX and LL both said that Jay didn't push their albums around that time only rappers being push on Def Jam were the ones mentioned plus Kanye he was affiliated with Jay I like Jay-Z he is a smart business man and a dope rapper Redman and Method Man probably felt the same way it just happened LL and DMX said something.

Why dont these guys just laugh it off & say we were young, who cares 🤷♂ . End of story, instead of coming out a lil crazy, passive aggressive.
You're so busy trying to create a narrative, you misinterpret his intentions and emotions , because he's vibrant laughing and assertive about his position. "Why don't these guys just laugh it off" is what you typed correct??? DID YOU NOT SEE HIM MAKING JOKES, DID YOU MISS CHARLAMAGNE LAUGHING??? Lastly your projecting with the "lil crazy" , "passive aggressive " you seem intimidated. How bout this let him do him, don't create a narrative and just watch and comment without projection
