When it comes to nursing, there are a ton of options for you. These options are non-bedside and don't need an additional degree. *At the end, disregard the informatics nurse one. I meant to say legal consultant nurse!*
One of the best thing in Nursing is you can choose different fields and still be a Nurse.. did bedside nursing for a decade and now I am a transfer center RN
Exactly, there's just so much that you can do since nursing is so broad. Everyone usually just thinks of nursing as a bedside job. Nicee what's the role of the transfer center RN??
@@NursesWithAttitude we streamline the transfers from different clinics and regional hospitals to our hospital to make a smooth process by connecting the referring MD and accepting MD in one call and help place the patient in an appropriate unit with the treatment team expecting them there
@CGA Ohhh I see, that's pretty cool! I didn't know about that role, but sounds important so that the doctors and treatment team are all on the same page and don't have any miscommunication 👌
@@NursesWithAttitude yes sir. So all the doctors ( accepting , consulting and referring ), the charge Nurses of the accepting unit and patient placement are all aware and we don’t get surprises especially for direct admits
I just started as a new grad on a med surg oncology unit. We get alot of non cancer patients. How do i get hematology experience? Also i was told i myst wait a year before getting chemo certified. I want to one day become a oncology NP. Where should i work beforehand to prepare me?
It really depends on the hospital on when they will train you for such things. To be chemo certified you must pass the exams for it. They might require a certain amount of time/experience prior to qualifying. If you get a chemo certification and they still won’t train you, I’d suggest looking elsewhere to a different hospital who will 👍
You don’t need much experience being a home health nurse at all actually. I didn’t have prior home health experience and was still hired. I only worked at the hospital at the time.
Nice bro that's solid tbh! My prereqs GPA was about 3.7 I think. Be sure to do really well on that TEAS. It makes up a big chunk of impaction score for most programs I've seen
