I have a few of these in my screen. They are beautiful trees that have performed very well in zone 7a. The light blue color really stands out and pops next to the darker greens of the Green Giants, Nellie Stevens Hollies, etc...

These would surely provide much needed winter seasonal color!

The blue color is so beautiful in the landscape. I think ours are Carolina Sapphire since they’re so fast growing. They were about 3.5ft T by 1.5ft W when planted two years ago. They’re now 8-10ft T by 6ft W.

thank you !! I love the look of a blue conifer but living in N. Atlanta have been hesitant to purchase/plant one for fear of its demise in our hot humid climate. Now I know the perfect one for my garden - yee haw !!!!

I swear Mr. Jim it's like you are reading my mind! I've been researching for the last few weeks on a uniform plant type back property line screen that is about 150ft wide (and has trees just on the other side of it but not enough to fully screen at our level like we want). I went back to your old nursery vids on the other channel narrowing down to either blue point juniper, spartan juniper, Carolina sapphire cypress or blue ice (which you mentioned in another video to be conspired with Carolina sapphire but).
I find myself coming back here year after year for the most accurate info, and now all the plants we are interested in have a home on one of your channels. How lucky are we?! Thanks for the info you give, especially when you compare them to each other because those details answer any possible questions before we even think of them (this one grows faster/slower or that one grows more full, etc.) Great video!!

I love these type of videos Jim!! I have one of those Blue Ice Arizona trees and I am in zone 6B. I have it planted on a south side of a building and I am really hoping it stays alive in our zone. It’s gorgeous with everything you plant around it!!!

I can attest to the fast growth rate on the Carolina Sapphire variety. The ones in our yard are outgrowing the green giants by a foot or two

I love the color. This channel gives me too many ideas lol love it.
My mom has a bluish cypress but it was there when she moved in so she isn’t sure what it is. It’s so beautiful. It’s strange looking though like someone limbed it up so it doesn’t become a conical shape till it’s feet up. Very interesting tree. I think it might be a false cypress. I need to send you a pic Jim.

I got an Arizona cypress awhile back through your recommendation on your Q&A Sunday episode - I was looking for something here in 7b that also had a Christmas tree form. I love it!

I'm in LOVE with my 3 blue ice cypress trees. Two of them are a bit funky looking, but they're doing great. They have lots of room to grow and we're in northeast Texas, zone 8a ^_^

Have you done any videos on redwood trees? I just planted two Dawn Redwood saplings (they're doing great) but would love to hear your opinion on them!

Hi Jim, I swear you are the man! Such good stuff you bring to the table. How do these handle ice? I assume the same goes for the Sapphire variant too? We live just south of Winston and ice storms can really damage things.

I’m always longing for blue conifers but I’m in the south 8b. Arizona Cypress Carolina Sapphire is one of few options I have. When I saw them in a local supply store, I jumped on them!! Wonder how difference do Blue Ice Cypress look comparing to Arizona Cypress Carolina Sapphire when they’re full grown?! I really love the icy blue color!! Tks Jim for educating us!! 👍😃

I have a ‘Blue ice’ Cypress, It’s its fist season in the ground so it’s still very young.
Unfortunately the leader snapped right off in a storm.
There was a part in the video where you said not to cut the leader off. I guess my question is, what happens if you do, or it snaps off like in my case?

I bought one of these today as our Christmas tree. How can I root a cutting that will be successful?

I wonder how well they would hold up to heavy snow or ice in my zone 6a garden? I sure would like to be able to plant one of those? 🌸💚🙃

Hello. Should Arizona cypress be pruned? I do NOT want it as a hedge.
