The Breitling Pistachio dial is unbelievable stunning. I receive so many compliments on this watch. It really brings a vintage but modern look. Highly recommend seeing this timepiece at the boutique.
Robert, I agree with you it is a stunning watch. I just can't get over the 2,4,8,10 numbers being cutoff on the dial. Otherwise the design is superb. Does this bother you at all?
You forget to mention that Sylvain Berneron, creative director at Breitling also runs his own Berneron watch business on the side with a wonderful new watch being released. He will have a lot to do with UG release and I think he’s going to do a fantastic job
I currently own a Navitimer 1 38mm and the new super ocean 42 Kelly slater edition. The reason they are overlooked on certain models is the movements. The finishing and build quality is probably better than most others I have seen but when it comes to specs they sometimes disappoint consumers. Still my favorite watch brand. The chronomat gmt is my next watch.
Michael is just adorable. He’s just such a cute kid with enjoyable facial expressions. The other guy who sometimes fills in for Michael is a poor substitute and a bit of a bore. Yes, this is Christian’s channel but Michael is the star of the show.
I own several Breitling models. They probably are not as popular as they should be because of their marketing. Their quality is excellent, and they should get more love for being too watches then they get. I only learned about the Universal Geneve brand in the last year. I wish I had known about UG before Breitling bought them, but I look forward to seeing how Breitling rolls out the new UG models. I still do not understand why it takes 3 years to make a new UG, unless the models will be totally new. I would love them to make the iconic models first, like the UG design that mirrors the Paul Newman Daytona.
I got an Omega SMP 300 this year and it's an amazing watch. Sure the bracelet doesn't taper, but the build quality is impeccable. Looked at a Breitling Superocean Heritage yesterday and especially the clasp was nowhere near as solid as the one of Omega.
Nina Rindt was a Finnish model married to German Formula 1 Driver Jochen Rindt driving under the Austrian Flag, which had a fatal crash at Monza Italy in 1970. So, another watch brand, apart from Heuer, strongly connected to F1. This UG is just a stunner and Breitling has to be very careful not to mess it up. My favorite UG however is the Polerouter, which is the only Genta Design I really like.
Quite correct; but important to note that the main UG connection with F1 was that Nina Rindt actually wore the watch to the Grands Prix. It is iconic of the era, but tangential to Formula 1. On the other hand, Heuer Carrera (and later the Autavia) were spawned through Jack Heuer’s actual participation in motor races. He was keen to expand this relationship and Heuer became closely linked to F1 through Jo Siffert and said Jochen Rindt, and later the Ferrari drivers. Motor racing is part of the Heuer DNA. The other brand very closely linked to motor racing is Longines, who provided the timekeeping since the 1930s through to the 1980s in F1, if my memory serves me correctly.

I was extremely excited that Breitling bought the Universal Geneve brand, and not some hedge fund! I was looking at the original UG models, and there are several that caught my eye. The homage to the Paul Newman Daytona has been on my buy list if I could find it at the right price. The White Shadow, which mirrors the Patek Golden Ellipse, is also a compelling model to buy. I can't wait to see how Breitling rolls out the new UG models!

Breitling rubs me the wrong way, all because of one guy I saw wearing one once. He had on an older navitimer and I complimented him on it and he said something to the effect of “if you work hard some day you could afford a 15k watch like me.” I was like 17 and on crutches at the time, not the message I want in the watch world.
Makes you wonder what is it that really makes a watch brand appealing. The perceived history even though the brand has already changed ownership several times?
The very first time i saw one a friend just bought. Thought got to get myself one, was a Chrome with leather bracelets. Was summer 87 at St Tropez, if I had the money would ask him to give me a lift to buy one. Vacation was over and flew back home at L A. Two months later went to work in N York for a week. Got a fat paychek for my work, woke up next day put a pile of hundreds in my pocket . Went out to buy one, where had no idea but start on 5th ave felt logical. Went by Tramp Plaza...know is not the name. and start looking for a watch boutigue. When I saw the Celine shop, knew they would have. Got there even before going in, saw the entire models at the shop window. Bought a beautiful chrono model , was the second expensive watch, for my standard. My standard i call reasonably, see people spending fortunes, what for? Nobody pick-up a woman for having an outrageus expensive watch. Know for a fact, would Love to read some real history of people that had their real expensive pieces stolen. We all know there are plenty.
I am ridiculously excited for UG's return. I really hope they do open with a salvo of manual chronographs, Compax to Tri-Compax. I'd take a Nina any day over a new Daytona (yawn). I think you guys nailed a lot of great points about what Breitling could be doing...and I may just have to save my fun money for a Breitling to grease those palms...
Universal Geneve are responsible for some of the greatest choronographs ever made. There history and back catalogue is unbelievable. Breitling have one of the greatest chronograph collectors in there ranks with Fred Mandelbaum. If he gets involved they will slam dunk.
This will turn out poorly. The mystique will fade quickly. Wisdom: sequels always suck. If I owned a vintage UG, I’d sell. Caveat: if Breitling hires the team that reinvigorated Nivada Grenchen and Vulcain, then there’s a small glimmer of hope for UG. But don’t make any emotional or monetary investment in this news.
Breitling are still in my Top 3 for the Everyman. Over 5k they just lose too much on resale. Keep forever, not a problem. Most men however…. just want to move on to the next.
I completely agree about Breitling but...In 30+ years of being in watches, I've never sold a watch I've bought for myself. I don't understand the "resale" mentality. Guitars, knives, guns or watches... if I buy it for me, it stays in the collection.
I see the original dynamic duo, I click. I like Breitling a lot. I own a Chronomat my wife bought me for a birthday gift, and I would trade my Speedmaster Professional for an Avenger 44 GMT.
Fun stuff. Breitling hmm 🤔, I have several watches of this brand and not over the top. Sadly they are scratch magnets, after a short time of wear they looks like being used for years. Also quality problems, have several cases with secondhand falling off and even index marker the same. The movements are nothing special and the looks are in some way "commercial". I love my Breitlings but the price vs quality can not compete with Omega or Rolex. All the best.
While I am happy to hear about the revival of UG, but I cannot be excited to hear about another brand of watches that I cannot get. I can only admire from afar - again!
If Rolex is seiko omega would be timex then Brietling would be the invicta in my opinion , I love brietling but they are the Rodney Dangerfield of watches
I have the Premier in Pistachio dial its so cool a great quality piece. I really love it plus the black or tan/yellow straps are great quality. Cant justify $22k for Datora salmon dial whatever it is, just too much.
Breitling is eh. I do like what they are doing; however, the REASON why you don’t hear about Breitling is because they are just copying other brand designs.

I completely agree about Breitling but...In 30+ years of being in watches, I've never sold a watch I've bought for myself. I don't understand the "resale" mentality. Guitars, knives, guns or watches... if I buy it for me, it stays in the collection.
@@shepleonard8695 you live how you want to live. Good man, keep making your own path.
I see the original dynamic duo, I click. I like Breitling a lot. I own a Chronomat my wife bought me for a birthday gift, and I would trade my Speedmaster Professional for an Avenger 44 GMT.
Breitling is the best ❤ now with UG, this will be epic 🤩❤️ love the video 🙏🏼
Been waiting on this video since the news dropped.
Good Video, but Nina Rindt, the Ex-Wife of F1 Champion Jochen Rindt (1970) is from Finland, not Sweden. :)
If your friends don't talk about Breitling, you need to change your friends.
Breitling likes to specialize in the super complicated ‘Chinese Algebra’ dials that perform every function except being able to tell time.
TAG Heuer comes to mind for Chronographs before Breitling.
In fact, a lot of air in chronographs
i hope this is true universal Genève is my favorite watch brand of all time
also: imagine the polerouter is back
rolex is crushing itself every day
Same, Breitling is not a "watch guy's watch".
ug is also one of my favo brands
I have two for the past 30 years, no scratch and still working just fine. My colt i surfed, played tennis and don't dive without it
I would not be surprised if Fred Madelbaum had something to do with this, if it is also under his direction its in very very safe hands
While I am happy to hear about the revival of UG, but I cannot be excited to hear about another brand of watches that I cannot get. I can only admire from afar - again!
I think you are just a bit salty because they don't want to hire your services. Breitling is definitely IN the conversation
Can you please stop being mean to sam!?
I mean I like Michael a lot, and there chemistry is very positive and fun, but come on ,lay off Sam.
If it ain't broke though.. P!ss off Sam 😂
I agree Breightling should be a top brand but maybe they offered too much when Rolex and Omega do the same year after year after year
"The only chronograph brand is Breitling"?? What about Zenith!
Whose funnier than michael ?! 18:21 😂😂😂😂😂
I am not a fan of most Breitling designs, though I like the Premier. Their cases are very well made. They should do well for UG.
Zenith as a Chronograph icon?
The greatest duo on UA-cam. End
Is this the iron snail guy?
UG will hopefully be a sub $4k brand under Breitling. Thats a market that UG could dominate and a Breitling really doesn’t cover all that much
Highly doubt it. Its history is too rich to be that cheap. My guess is they’ll start at $10k and up.
Remember when Sicura purchase Breitling
When u say chronographs wouldn’t u say ZENITH?
I am team Michael about the chronographs. SUCK THE AIR OUT, LADS, LET'S GET IT DONE!
Breitling is eh. I do like what they are doing; however, the REASON why you don’t hear about Breitling is because they are just copying other brand designs.
Guy in red jumper is so difficult to understand he needs to slow down and be clearer took me a few attempts to understand what company was bought
umm Seiko never left guys , did we all forget or what ???
Very interesting episode. Such a better vibe with Michael and Christian. Keep Sam behind the camera. Ciao
Wtf is so universal about geneve?
