Vassalize Mantua, as they historically vassalize Montferrat. Then Annex savoy, as they would annex Montferrat. Vengeance for Montferrat! Then after that...im not sure.
Obviously this wont be for ages but this just came to mind so Im posting it here, for wallachia, the goal should be to conquer welsch tirol, all walloon culture provinces and wales as all of these words are cognate (From Walhaz, an old germanic word for foreigner) Anyone who sees this feel free to repost it on the video right before wallachia if you remember
To form Byzantium you do need to take out both Byzantium and Ottomans (thats what the decision says) Edit: better said you need to completely make them both not exist
I'm assuming this is a reference to that guy from montferrat that brought Alexios IV to the fourth crusade and suggested they sailed to Constantinople?
15:08 if you get the popup that someone will declare war on you there is no way to stop them; even if you ally the whole world, the wardec is effectively already sent from the perspective of the game
Friendly tip: it is worth intentionally staying behind in admin and diplo tech so you can dev your provinces, it makes a huge difference, especially if you are a small nation
Admin tech is hella important tho and tax dev is pointless and bad for you, idea slots are must have rushing adm tech 7 should always be a priority, dip as long as you no futher than 2 behind is fine when your not doing naval battles, but you should never prioritize dev over tech unless u play outside euope and need an institution, lowe autonomy and conquoring the gold provinces would have helped way more than ditching tech.
With Moldavia it's actually kind of OP if you choose to submit to Poland and get Poland's rivals to support your independence. I think it's actually the easiest country to form Ruthenia besides Lithuania.
I did the Dracula's revenge couple months ago, and I enjoyed similar amount of pain. Funny that Ottomans declaring on you is probably the best thing that can happen.
This video is actually cool. Most eu4 youtubers record the optimal run but this one was just like one of my runs. Nobody allied you in the beginning Got warned by the ottomans Lost the polish guarantee Austria allied hungary Yet you still showed how you can make a comeback instead of having a super romania by 1472.
One of my favourite achievements, took me a while, ended up allying up and not getting declared on by otto, built up a power base in Poland and then finally beating ottomans in 1600s, though by that stage it was basically commonwealth (dev wise) vs ottomans,
I have never seen so much pain in one redhawk video. I feel guilty for liking it, as if I've watched some immense human suffering just for my entertainment. Which I have.
I usually skip the episodes where you look like you’re just suffering. This is the kind of difficult games that are actually fun to watch imo. It was incredibly skillful play.
Since Monferrat has a Byzantine Cousin dynasty, you could go for a bit longer game (like with Ming) and aim to Conquare Italy and Balkans and form again Byzantine empire. :)
I mean, the people at paradox did do Romania historically accurate. The pain you feel playing them is exactly the same pain the historical voivodes felt. Take Michael the Brave, united the voivodes, all three, Transylvania too. Had a damn great general and friend too (Baba Novak), then the Austrians killed his friend, then a few months later killed him too and screwed over the voivodes again. One must imagine Sisyphus happy, right?
As Montferrat (Mountain of Iron), you are dwarves. First goal, surround the impassible parts of the Alps. Bonus goals, do the same for the Pyrennes and Carpathians.
@@barbadoskado2769The Polish guarantee its really a pain my stategy is allying Bohemia and striking Hungary first than go for balkans and the ottomans if their fighting a big war like Mamluks.
of course as Mongolia: form mongolia (n empire). Khaaaaaan can easily be done by them, especially now with the stronger start for tribes by getting a lot of free cav. Just be sure to declare on solon or someone like that immediately after becoming independent otherwise you can't complete your first mission
i think if you hadn't gotten that popup for the ottomans you would have lost. no way could you have fought the ottomans with your original alliance network at that point.
The start is the annoying part, but Wallachia allying Byzantium is your golden opportunity, though it does mostly remove any pain. No CB on December 11 and full annex Wallachia and vassalize Byz. That's all you need to setup an expansion path and alliance network to take down the Ottomans.

Montferrat is the only nation that can form Byzantium without switching to Orthodox religion and Greek culture… so, as Montferrat, form Byzantium!
Vassalize Mantua, as they historically vassalize Montferrat. Then Annex savoy, as they would annex Montferrat. Vengeance for Montferrat! Then after that...im not sure.
As Montferrat, conquer Montenegro and nearby Mountain province's
Conquer a Mon culture province

Man, the pain from this episode hurt my soul. Solid job!
As a Romanian, watching you play Moldavia was soothing, as you've now got a taste of our history.
See you on Wallachia 😵

You made Ludi proud.

Watching the series as we speak, awesome stuff mate, and cool mo!
The only thing you can do as Montferrat is form Byzantium. It's the most unique aspect about them.
The self defeated look while saying, "why didnt i tell my self to dev besarabia" had me laughing so hard.
When he said the 4th goal for a moment I thought he need to betray one of his allies as Romania 😂😂
Good job, Ludi is proud of you now

I was so about to said that kek

Btw, A to Z is more fun when you get pain! This video is one of the good ones.
It is funny how you chose the Punitive war as the beginning for the video and not the Ottoman-Poland sandwich

When you get to Ottomans don’t do anything boring like migrating go to war with the other top 7 great powers day one or after like 10 years
Since they added a path for the Teutonic knights to form the Mongolian Empire you should conquer their lands for such hubris.
always satisfying to see the ottomans get beasted on by moldavia/wallachia
That final peace deal lmao
Once you go for the Ottomans try the Mehmed's Ambition
Montferrat did a fair amount of crusading back in the day, so try to take Jerusalem.
Can't wait until you get to Wallachia muahaha
Have you played the bear faction? I just found and had no seen it ever played.
