I have ridden everything here except the Indian range. Without doubt I found the fit, finish & quality of the Goldwing to be the best. Having ridden motorcycles for 40 years in 20+ countries the Goldwing has always been the benchmark of touring quality. Thank goodness it still is.
Most riders who go on a couple of long distance motorcycle rides get caught up in weather, be that good or bad. One thing they eventually come back to is the distance they are willing to travel. You can travel on a 500cc bike just as well as a Rocket III with its 2458cc motor, but you get better gas mileage on that 500cc bike. So, if you are done with your 3 long distance rides that turned you off to the rain, sleet, cold and snow, then you will eventually want lighter and smaller for those 2 to 3 hour rides and that is where the smaller cruiser comes into play. Even an 800cc rides well and saves you a lot of money in the long run. What large bikes have I owned to say that? Kawasaki KZ900, Yamaha XS1100 Special, Honda CB750, HD FXR-P, HD Road King CVO, Honda Valkyrie, Kawasaki KZ1300A2 and B2, Honda Goldwing 1500 and 1800, Suzuki Cavalcade 1400, BMW K1200RS, BMW K1200R Sport, Kawasaki ZX12R, Honda CBR1000F, Kawasaki Vulcan Drifter 1500, BMW R1100RS, HD Softail Heritage Springer, 6 HD Sportster models, Yamaha Vmax 1200, Suzuki M109R or let's just say 42 motorcycles in 45 years of riding and none of them were dirt bikes. Which do I think is the best? I will let you know when I find it.... But, I do like the "feel" of the Harley V-Twin thumping down the road (music to the ears too). Which would I buy again? Valkyrie, Vmax 1200, M109R, HD Road King CVO with 103 cu in, Goldwing 1500SE, Goldwing 1800 and Drifter 1500 (looks is why). Most comfortable? Suzuki Cavalcade 1400.... Best handling? BMW K1200R Sport (I am not a power twistie rider). Longest trip on which bike? Valkyrie. Best grocery store runner? Goldwing 1500SE. Best to make short jaunts on? Kawasaki EN500 (not on the list above, but it was nice). Best gas mpg? HD Sportster 883 carburated (62 mpg at times)....
I have a 2022 Rocket 3 GT (triple black) and it is a blast to ride. I wouldn't tour with it but that is not what I bought it for. It is a muscle cruiser through and through.
Goldwings are nice, but they dont entice the constant grins you get on a Rocket. Ive got almost 50000 miles on my 2020 GT and still cant stop the goofy grin when I twist the throttle.
Round trip to Lake Tahoe and back on my 2022 BMW 1250 R/T was 308 miles on a single tank with fuel to spare...best touring bike for handling and braking.
Great video and yes I agree. The Goldwing is the pinnacle of touring motorcycle. I would absolutely love to own the Triumph Rocket 3. What a beautiful bike.
Get yourself a Yamaha 2023 FJR1300 ES, nothing beats this Japanese machine interms of reliability. Fulfils all your requirements, comes with saddle boxes and you can install more too, best part is just costs 21k compared to 30K for fatbob
After having ridden a lot of these, I agree that the Wing wins has a down. I call it a sport cruiser because of the handling and cornering capabilities, especiallyin sport mode. It is better handling than any large American cruiser I've ever ridden. I know a lot of older guys bitched when they redesigned it in 2018, but it needed it. It's simply a joy to ride and has more bells and whistles than I know what to do with. I picked up the 2022 DCT touring model last week, and it is fanominal, no matter what I throw at it. Tight parking lots are a breeze! The double wishbone suspension is also incredible on rough roads. Even in a corner with bumps, the bike is solid.
I’ve ridden my 2019 HD Road King Special hundreds of miles in a weekend and it’s a super smooth and incredibly comfortable ride. Can’t possibly recommend more if you’re looking for a stripped down tourer that allows you to get that wind in your face feel. 😎👍🏻
Love that Rocket, the Goldwing is perfect (except the rear, not keen) but doesn't have the soul or kudos of that Brit machine, a bit like Punk or Rocker vs a clean cut Beatle fan,, Billy Idol vs Davy Jones, (I'm showing my age), I.m.h.o. plus owning the largest CC production motorcycle in the world is a bonus for bragging rights.
A Hayabusa? On a list of touring bikes and power cruisers the second entry is a hunched over, aggressive, top-speed machine with no luggage and the opposite of power-cruiser ergonomics. Did you guys even read your own brief?
+1 for the hayabusa. Just put a little riser for the handlebars a touring windscreen and some saddlebags and you have one hell of a sports tourer. Also the Moto guzzi v100 is coming out. I think that might make the list for next year
A touch controversial, but- who can argue w/ the GoldWing started extremely plush for the time & has been refined & honed to long distance cruiser perfection. Even if you dont love the Honda on principal- you have to respect the: longevity, quality & product consistency. I wonder how many are still running & registered since the very beginning- I bet the percentage is much higher than say a Ducati Monster, or, a Triumph Street Triple.
The Goldwing is so much more resolved and modern than any of the other bikes, particularly for hard core touring. The Hayabusa would be a close second if Suzuki would offer a touring package (larger screen, touring seat, lower pegs, bags). Besides the Kaw, I'm not sure how much I'd actually trust the reliability and running costs over the years, specially if real miles are piled on - except maybe the Road Glide, but it's not the kind of rig I'd ride anywhere but on a long, straight slab.
Its not a cruiser its a just a naked sports bike a cruiser is low seat with long legged space with front pegs pushed near to front wheel fender ducati is trying to convince n brain wash people through UA-cam n other social media channels that diavel is a cruiser bike its just like that im trying so hard or trying my ass off to convince that this🛴 is this 🏍️
Not actually a fan of some of the newest aids for motorcycles lane departure and such maybe I don't get how it works but sometimes on a bike acceleration and tight maneuver will save you. But also not a full dresser kinda guy. I ride a Himalayan and a Road king 2005
You missed out the best touring bike on the planet: BMW 1250 GS/GSA? I just sold my Diavel to buy one which was only suitable for a quick blast on summers day. Certainly no use for touring..
Big 3 auto and Harley just know retro afraid to step out of comfort zone. Although Harley’s newest bikes, PA, Sportster S, Nightster are changing that. Power from the factory as well as fancy electronics standard. Not just about new paint names ever Year. P pole buy used vs new when just about the paint jobs.
Large touring bikes need decent passenger accommodation, most of the bikes you have put up here don't have that. In fact passengers aren't mentioned. Enough room to put @ least a weekends' worth of touring equipment is also needed, I don't know how you'd get on with the Ducati Diavel, Suzuki Hayabusa or the Triumph Rocket 3 (as shown) with the wife/girlfriend on a tour with any of those.
Well I can't get past the fact that the Indian Challanger is as ugly as sin. And the Harley entries are just to, to true to the HD legacy of big fat and slow. Harley poisoned the well long ago so while the King may not be as slow as Harleys of Yore, I just cant get 50 years of bad HD bikes out of my memory bank. So a hard choice between the Suzuki the Kawasaki and the Triumph. Emotion takes my close the the Triumph , but he Kawasaki is just too good to not be my choice.

poor build quality... not as properly made as the early air-cooled. Versions
Great video and yes I agree. The Goldwing is the pinnacle of touring motorcycle. I would absolutely love to own the Triumph Rocket 3. What a beautiful bike.
had 9000km on the rocket3 gt . satisfied for the torque and the sport handling. nice to leaning. super high quality of the parts finish

I went to purchase the Goldwing and ended up coming home the Indian Challenger. I have some regrets. 😮
Agree with premium Rocket 3

Without a doubt the Goldwing trumps all.
Only ones I'd consider would be the Rocket or Busa. However if I was really doing major touring with a pillion it has to be the Goldwing.

I have the Goldwing Tour DCT and it is wonderful. I highly recommend it

Agreed. Goldwing #1
Would have thought the Bussa and Kawa H2 were not in the class of the title. Otherwise a good informative video.
Yeah goldy smashed it
The Indian Chief is starting to spark my interest

I ❤❤❤❤❤❤LOVE HAYABUSA ! ! ! ! ! ! !❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
WOOOOOOOOOW ! ! ! ! ! AWESOME VIDEO AMAZING FANTASTIC MARVELOUS SUPERB TOP ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Honda has been gone thru with a fine tooth comb for sure

Goldwing is so much better looking than any of the American offerings, which appear bulky and clumsy especially viewed from the front.

I'm looking at the Honda Rebel 1100T bagger for '23...two and a half times less the price of it's HD rival and 200kg lighter(????). No brainer!
Your right. But the rocket is for me.
Goldwings are so dreamy… 🥹 (but ill never spend more on my bike than on my car! 😂)
Justified
Honda Goldwing is the best
Surprised FJR is missing
Not every shot in the video has to be 0.000478s long.
Yes goldwing is best touring motorcycles in this pack
Not actually a fan of some of the newest aids for motorcycles lane departure and such maybe I don't get how it works but sometimes on a bike acceleration and tight maneuver will save you. But also not a full dresser kinda guy. I ride a Himalayan and a Road king 2005
I'd sell my soul for a road king
Halo bikes showing off tech and horsepower
Higher booza has always been rubbish for tall riders unless they have a long torso and short legs. Shit for touring unless your under 5/10.
You missed out the best touring bike on the planet: BMW 1250 GS/GSA? I just sold my Diavel to buy one which was only suitable for a quick blast on summers day. Certainly no use for touring..
Indian is the SUV of bikes but has the power with it vs a Harley
❤️🔥
Guys, which one would you choose
Royal Enfield meteor 650
Kawasaki Vulcan S 650
Moto guzzi V7
No super duke gt?
The K1600 is the king
Indian Pursuit is my No1 unlike the Goldwing you can stretch out your legs.

Kawasaki SX SE can also be rephrased as Kawasaki “Sexy.”
Harley cvo at $40,000. Why for a few more horses!
Really? Kawasaki Concourse 14 is the large sport tourer not the H2.
No mention of the M109R?
ಠ_ಠ
I believe Visordown is UK/Europe based and the m109r isn't sold there any more
@@davidshugars947 Noooooo! Those poor Europeans! My heart goes out to them.
@@magnanimus9692 the Rocket is a way better bike than the 109 in every conceivable way. At least get real.
No longer sold in Europe due to emissions regulations. I had two 1800 and loved them. Rocket 3 would be my next choice.
or the kawasaki vulcan voyager. let the good times roll...
