History
Superman The Escape was originally intended to open in 1996. Due to problems, it was never open to the public until the 1997 season. There was a preview for season pass holders in the fall of 1996.
For the 2011 season, Superman The Escape was transformed into Superman: Escape from Krypton. The most significant change was positioning riders to face backwards so they now look towards the ground rather than the sky on the vertical track.

Bruv they do the same thing on the blasts off at Darien lake (I wasn’t expecting it it was my first time going to Darien lake, first ride I went on)
I was working there today and anytime my coworker said "When I say Ooh, you say Ahh. Ooh!" I screamed
It's scarier being near the end of this ride when it goes by, compared to actually being on it. It is SO LOUD. It sounds like a jet engine right above your head.
Just imagine yourself as a United States Navy fighter pilot with the ability of becoming the Best of the Best !!
Imagine standing in line for an hour for that
Its great ride imo. Worth the wait.
When i was 8 i screamed on virtually all the coasters. Except for this. It strangly felt forsless to me. Also lacking that stomach dropping feel. I think its the lack of airtime that bires me :P. Rode 4 more times then never wanted to rude it again.

@@Williamafton7891 It is XDXD its just personally not my ride. But I can still say for many its a great ride. I crave crazy movements and stomach dropping artime which this ride lacks but it is SUPER FAST like +100 mph.

Just noticed they took out the Superman at the very top of the tracks what a bummer that used to be a cool feature

That’s right.
This looks like the exact coaster my 4 yr old niece built on planet coaster, it's really the only thing she can built in the game
No one is talking about the defunct Tower of Terror rollercoaster from Dreamworld (best park (biased but who cares), Australia. It opened a few months before this, making it the first rollercoaster to reach 100miles, (160km), and closed 2019. Without it closing this ride most likely would’ve become too expensive to maintain.
The operators at Six Flags Magic Mountain are so funny.😆
I think my favorite operators are on Full Throttle, Goliath, Scream, and Superman.

I rode that thing years ago, when it had a statue of Superman facing down at you at the top (IIRC). One visit, it was late at night and the park was near empty, so they let us just ride it several times in a row.
You're correct. I miss that statue of Superman because it looks so small when you're walking under the ride and then you see it when you're close and you realize just how high up you are by how much bigger it is. I wonder when/why they took it down
To anyone scared of this, trust me:
I am HORRIFIED of any rollercoaster, but pushed myself to go on it anyway. The launch is definitely sudden, and feels extremely fast. Not much faster than you drive in a car normally, though. You are in shock by the unexpected speed however, but the good part is on the way back down from the drop, you barely even feel it 😭
If you are scared of heights and speed though, be warned. No matter what though, you’ll definitely have fun! Hope this helped!

Dang we went today, first time going. This was the ONLY ride that wasn’t open. Kinda sad but all the other rides were a lotta fun.

As someone who hates big forward drops, I would love to try this. I love when the big drop is backward.
I rode Superman soon after it opened and our car experienced one of its' first rollbacks.

Yup. A simple launch that goes 100 miles per hour, up a vertical ramp and back while facing backwards, and that's it.

Well that’s underwhelming
Nothing is great about this ride.. I waited about 30 mins first and only time in line and never more
Disappointed. the only reason this ride is still operating is because they have lex Luther giant drop attached on the 400ft side . They should replace this ride and build the dragster coaster like they have at cedar point where it actually goes up 400ft and comes back down
