Finally. A Sonic.EXE I can finally believe in.
Make a horror series of this rom hack but dont put the rom hack title in the video's title and what you Gotta put in the title is: "MY SONIC GAME IS HAUNTED 😟" just so you get to make a great horror series

Personally it still doesn’t feel convincing to me. But, it is. I mean, it’s *literally* on the Genesis.

im actually working with lava gaming to make an analogue horror on this rom hack!
the ending was a little anti-climactic though tbh. you cannot just end it with Tails jumping into a portal ring and then rolling the credits after two stages with very little happening.
Maybe more things will be added in the next update
@@SamuelSonicYt i hope so. seeing more of this game would be great, but its been 3 years already. how do we know for sure that its ever going to get updated? but then again, Streets Of Rage 4 didnt come out until a whole 25 years after Streets Of Rage 3 so i dont know
Hello@razor and zenon, there is a green ring hidden under the bridge at the beginning, to locate it you have to jump just below where the spring is and fly straight until you see grass, you stop there and go down slowly until you see thee green ring
I discovered it accidentally while I was playing
but it's really a bit useless because it doesn't do anything I grab it and it doesn't do anything (as a fun fact if you play the game a second time the color palette is a bit darker and sonic has the sonic.exe eyes (that happens in the first encounter with him)and nothing else I think

This was an interesting hack concept, but why was it so short?
It's hard to make an extremely long rom hack from nothing, this hack literally imported green hill and angel island assets into sonic 2 so it's quite a feat on its own
It's still just a demo.

Why so short
Turns out doing original 68K Assembly coding for a sonic romhack is quite hard and pretty time consuming.
So it’s very limiting in terms of how much exe gameplay you can do, most times it was done in fangames where they can easily just use up 200 MB of storage for an exe file because of uncompressed and unoptimized assets.
But here it’s working with a 4 MB rom. And of course hardware limitations of the Genesis.
