I am TOTALLY with you Amanda - if I don't like any of the characters then I am going to have a rough time getting through the book. I felt the same way about His & Hers and the book club discussion was the only thing that kept me from dnf'ing it! One of my biggest disappointments this year was The Villa - weird vibes and storyline, plus I just didn't connect with any of the characters :(
The House Across The Lake was my least favorite book of the year. I loved it until the paranormal plot twist, then he lost me. I literally dispise that book now. It actually made me mad that he took the route he did because I was loving it so much. 🙁 I don't know if I will ever get over it enough to read another book by him. Lol
Twisted Love was my worst book of 2023 and I was so hesitant on starting twisted games since I read twisted love back in march & that book was 6,7,8 stars for me. I read it in 1 sitting it was everything highly highly recommend you continue the series
my friend read the inmate and i read never lie. we can both confirm we hated the experience. never lie was the most outrageous and ridiculous read i think i have ever put myself through.
Amanda two of the books you read I read also and didn't like it. The first is No Exit thought the ending was weird. Anxious People made me laugh through about two pages then it got boring. Started Lattes and Legends got a short way through and found it boring and stopped reading it
you two are the first book tubers I've seen say that "the atlas six" was not great. Which I agree with, i did not like any of the characters and also thought none of them were actually good people.
My policeman, I wonder if you’d like the series ‘fellow travelers’ on… uh… 👀… max? One of the streaming services. lol. It’s gay spicy tho. Just a heads up. Like, chile arbol, Thai chili, roasted, dipped in habanero oil spicy… 🫣

Right! Like at least one person has to be likeable 😂

this!!!! I was so mad. Felt like a cop out for not coming up with a more creative way to tie up the end
I was loving Caraval but the ending made me so mad, I haven’t continued with the rest of the series.
I’m glad I’m not the only one!!!
I felt the same about My Policeman, The Kiss Quotient, Twisted Love. Love the honest hot takes
🫶🏼📖

See I know it can’t just be me!!! 😭 the writing style is just a no go for me
@@laurandareads the main character in never lie went on a full tangent about her sweater being cashmere for no reason 😭😭😭
So sad Lauren didn’t enjoy Caraval. I love that series. Also sad that you didn’t love Twisted Love. I hope ya’ll find some better reads in 2024!
The Inmate was on my DNF because I just couldn't handle the stupidity!
Omg im glad I’m not the only one 😭
I had a hard time with Atlas six. It gave me a headache.
Right!!
That edition of Atlas Six is worth money
Caraval. What a let down. It SHOULD have been a favorite of mine! Ugh.
Definitely!!

You shouldn't Have Come Here was a very slow book for me and I was Not happy about the ending. It made absolutely no sense.
Oh no!!
I also didn't like caraval. it felt really childish and dry to me
I loved Roxy!

HBO Max doesn’t hold back on anything so I definitely believe you! 😂
Caraval was a dun read, but not really memorable. The Writing Retreat was the worst book for me.
Y’all just need to write a book…haha
We can’t even write Instagram captions 💀
