I love David Bradley as The First Doctor and how respects the role
David Bradley is an amazing actor. He nailed the first Doctor and I can't wait to see more of him
I would LOVE to see an updated remake of the first couple of Doctor Who Seasons, especially the episodes that are missing. It would fill in gaps that are missing for people who started watching Doctor Who later and would be a great way to honor and continue Hartnell's legacy as the Doctor.
@David Blyth everyone sees the same things differently
@David Blyth their quite different but i still really like davids adaption
@David Blyth hes a lot more like him in the big finish range
@@Lunzatis_Palemoon Them being remade should be forbidden. It would be great to see him bring the first Doctor into current and future shows to kind of add the wibbly-wobbly of time travel. Hell, I would love to see any of the extant Doctors make appearances in future episodes.
An incredible actor - we are so lucky to have him as the first Doctor
Oh, it would be great if David Bradley had his own "Don't forget to subscribe to the official Doctor Who UA-cam channel !", no ?
Nahh. Thei gota half Jodie's voice in et.
No. I’m not sure when that became a meme. I liked it as Capaldi’s thing, but I was hoping with the next Doctor they’d do something different (like before it was Matt sonicing the subscribe button and then the Silence chilling (and I guess telling your subconscious to subscribe)). Its kinda boring when they keep making different actors do the same thing.
Hands up. How many people would jump back into the show if he got called up to play a full season as the first doctor. It's a time travel show, no reason why he couldn't do the show set in contemporary times.
When he appeared at the end of The Doctor Falls, I actually thought for a moment that he was going to be the next Doctor! I'd definitely like to see a full series with him.
100%. Adventure in Space and Time was one of the best pieces of Doctor Who I've ever seen, and a big part of that was because of Bradley's Doctor. Hell, bring him back in his own spin off and the show would spring back to relevence immediately. Baffles me how the BBC never do anything like this, they're missing all kinds of tricks
I’d love that. Particularly if they revisited the Zarbi or The War Machines with new SFX. Also, imagine if the First Doctor made good on his promise that “One day I shall come back” and finally reunites with an older Susan, played by Carole Ann Ford!
@@stevetayler9518 Bring it on! It'd be awesome to see the Classic Series era with modern day technology. The possibilities are endless!
I'd like them to do a series of Hartnell's lost episodes like Marco Polo, Galaxy 4, the Massacre etc.
I really enjoyed David Bradley's portrayal of the First Doctor in "Twice Apon A Time"!
I knew David Bradley was coming g back that distorted picture seen yesterday with a script there was no doubt it was him :)
David Bradley is brilliant. Just brilliant. He was amazing as the first doctor and did William Hartnell’s legacy absolute justice. No matter what you think of the Timeless Child plot, the 12th doctor’s last story payed absolute respect to everything he stood for. Can’t wait to experience time fracture, especially now Bradley is involved!
You can hear and see the respect he has for the role, the show, and Hartnell.
One of the best in the world. He is amazing.
So humble and kind. Love seeing him play The Doctor. 👍🌟💜❤️✌️
David Bradley you got a fan here in Tel Aviv Israel 🇮🇱
I’d like to see them remake a single missing episode with him for the 60th. Would be amazing 👍
am agree and good idea
Hes a damn fine actor
Very few actors could have pulled off what he did. All cred to him, the writers and producers for doing such a great job.
I had the pleasure of meeting David Bradley at the 2018 Nottingham Comic-Con, I got him to sign William Hartnell's page in one of my beloved Doctor Who books, and I explained that since William Hartnell isn't with us anymore, who better to sign his picture than the actor who played him so well on screen. I think my comparison of him to Hartnell humbled him since he thanked me so sincerely, and he waved at me every time I saw him after that at the Comic Con
David Bradley is a class act, one of the most genuinely nice people I've ever met, not just at a Comic Con but just in everyday life
Ive just realised how much David Bradley looks, sounds and acts like my granddad. like pull back the hairline and it's *chef's kiss* what the hell
He is the Doctor. The Original Doctor, The original you might say.
I hope they make it available to people outside the UK in some form
I’m not sure how; it’s very much dependent on you on the day, from what I’ve heard.
DAVID Bradley does a great job on Doctor Who. Have been a fan since 1974 my dad introduced me to the show. Love it Love it Love it.
You can't have a bigger tribute in a live Doctor Who show, then an appearance of the very first Doctor.
Bbc if your listening make a mini-series with David as the doctor. Set before his regeneration and meeting the 12th doctor. All new adventures. This would boost ratings
Big Finish is audio, but a good start!
David is a big fan of Tom and Louise sounds like we need a 1 and 4 team up!
They might with big finish
First Doctor and Mr. Flich team up.
Remakes of lost serials could be a serious project, just remember that they weren't expensive and don't really need more explosions...
It’s not just special effects, you have to pay for sets, costumes, camera and sound crew, lighting, and the actors themselves. Stories like Marco Polo and the Dalek’s masterplan also have the added problem of having a huge amount of locations and characters. That’s why they’ll probably stick to the animations, as it’s just a lot cheaper in comparison
David is such a talented actor! Love him!
Oh, David. You've come a long way from being the caretaker at Hogwarts. We love you.
Now he is caretaker of the first doctor role
I love Doctor Who
I loved it
@@declanhugors Why don’t you now?
@@DrWhoFanJ Chubnall
@@declanhugors No such person.
Do you mean Chris Chibnall, the most-underappreciated showrunner ever? The one who’s opened the show up to myriad new possibilities, and just gets an extremely vocal minority wanting him removed from his post as a “reward”?
@@DrWhoFanJ Spot on. Wow but you have proven that this other rage guy in this comments section was right. People actually do like Chibnall. (Btw I deliberately called him "Chubnall."
I mean I hate to say this but compare it to the majority of story quality of Davies and Moffat. Do you thinkt he timeless child was a good choice? Telling everybody that you can't be the Doctor and help people in need because the Doctor is special? Why would Chibnall do this other than when he runs out of story ideas? How about Orphan 55? 2nd to worst episode behind the End of Time Pt. 1 (God that was horrific). How about the companions? Might as well just remove Yaz because after getting rid of Graham and Ryan, 2 pretty much useless companions compared to the last ones, Chibnall just adds in a new companion. WHY? Why not just add character to somebody he already has. Everbody was hoping for potential coming from Graham and Ryan but Chibnall's decision confirmed that they were totally useless. Anything to say? Don't tell me to write and see how I do because Chibnall is much older than me and has much more experience in writing than I do; I'm comparing Chibnall to every other screenwriter in Doctor Who previously.
Absolute perfect choice for the First Doctor/Hartnell. I don't think anybody else could have pulled it off like David Bradley 🙏
Curious, how would you fare Richard Hurndall’s take in The Five Doctors?
@@jonL88 Hmmm, it's been a while since I last watched The Five Doctors but I would still say I prefer David tbh.
I'd say David Bradley's take on the First Doctor better captured Hartnell himself and all his little manurisms, but Richard put his own spin on the First Doctor which I did enjoy as well.
Both of them did a wonderful job at the end of the day though and The Five Doctors is still one of my favourite Doctor Who episodes ever. Twice Upon a Time doesn't even come close 😅
Going too see this at the end of the month 😬 beyond excited
GOT TO LOVE THIS GUY
Such a lovely gentleman
He did it a good job.
I think Bradley and the bbc should re-shoot the Heartnall series with mordern day effects and sounds but keep the stories to it's original core. Let the new Whovians know what it was like. Bradley has the look of Heartnall and his voice and essence of him. I would deffinitley pay to watch it!
That sounds fun but it would be hard. There's fewer episodes of William Heartnall because each episode is divided into 4 30-minute parts. Plus some episodes like the very first are more boring than you can imagine compared to New Who, so those would only be about 30 minutes runtime when compressed.
A shooting schedule like that would be hard on an actor of advanced age and it might be a bit disrespectful to the originals. Maybe a better idea would be to re-shoot a limited number of episodes such as some of the 'lost' Hartnell episodes or a particular episode arc rather than the full Hartnell run.
@@witchdoctor1394 yeah maybe they could remake some of the missing episodes with him like with the live action recreation of Mission to the Unknown a bit back. Bradley's getting on though so no pressure to do so
@@witchdoctor1394 I see what you mean, that's a good point. But what the bbc could do is they could remake SOME of the Heartnall episodes that were more popular with the fans and shooting lost episodes seems a great idea.
The look. Sure. The voice? No.
One of the greatest actors in the World!
I need a miniseries w this guy as the doctor my god
Ohh look at my Doctor ❤️❤️❤️
when we going to get some classic Doctor Who Season 8 HD clips ⏰
It's nice to see he's gotten better work after being Filch however many films he was in

OK THIS WAS UNEXPECTED! Really annoyed I can't do this event now, not because I'm not from the UK (I am) but because Covid and location and all that stuff :(
What's going to stop you? By the time this opens, all restrictions will be dropped
@@DistantCousin It's more none of my family drive, I'm in Wales and it's a bit pricey etc
@@alternatethirteenth5594 That's fair enough :)
David has done a fine job as William Hartnell's First Doctor. Let's have some more.
Can't wait
Oh wait is he coming back again to play The Doctor?
Sorry but Chris Chibnal would never allow that
Yes he is
No, this is for an immersive theather thing they're doing. But he's still playing the First Doctor in the Big Finish audios, Volume 5 of which just came out today!
@@declanhugors Actually, with the whole Pre-Hartnell discussion, the chance is more likely that he might come back to clear that up.
@timrob12 that’s actually a good point, I hadn’t thought of that!
Yes I get to see the first doctor and captain Jack on real life. My day is so much better
I can not believe he is still Alive
David Bradley should be the fifteenth doctor someday
DOCTOR IN THE TARDIS
Mr Filtch ❤
A fantastic actor through his career. Just an absolute shame he only gained his acclaim at the end of his life with the harry potter movies and doctor who.
Hold on ... I think I've got something in my eye...
Great interview, Bradley is such a great 1st doctor. Although, do we actually know what time fracture is. From looking a trailers all I can gather is its an amazing imersive experience, but what even is that, what does it entail
Can anyone provide me some more information on this because I’m a bit lost on what it is about
As far as I know, Time fracture is a new doctor who attraction opening up in london. It is known as a "theatrical experience", not a stage play mind you, but more so a little adventure you go on, there might be escape rooms, minigames, we arent too sure what it will actually contain yet.
@@doctordisco2980 Oh, that is SO COOL!!
This is the old @MegaSim intro music
Honestly, I think Baker is most people's first.
It’s scary how similar he is to the first doctor..
Imagine if 13 met first doctor and Jack in season 13
Imagine if 13 would hurry up and regenerate already
@@adscott27 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣yawn
@@johngurnhill8743 viewers seem to agree she should go, lowest viewing figures in New who history
@@adscott27 I think most if not all viewers agree Chibnall is the problem, not Jodie.
First would hate jack 😂😂
Didn't he played a character in the Harry Potter movies which had a red-eyed cat?
@dragonOllie I remember a scene where he is running in a funny way.
@dragonOllie Yes, he was a Squib, he had at least one magical parent, but couldn't perform magic himself- I think that's why he took things out on the kids.
YES! Argus Filch)
Also, can someone read lips and decipher what the First Doctor is saying in the green screen footage?
Is the first doctor still the first doctor or doctor who number 3,202?
Unless Chris Chibnal wipes his crap off the floor, the timeless child idea indeed makes every incarnation of the doctor unspecial
@@declanhugors You clearly don’t like the show any more, so why are you hanging around polluting the channel and community? 😡😡😡😡
He's the oldest, that's for sure
Until I know if Whittaker is involved I can't decide weather to book or not

David called him Doctor Who
I mean, that was what the character was credited as until the early 80’s, he might just be more used to calling him that.

Peter Capaldi calls him that too!
Wow he’s still alive.
Ofc , he's not William Hartnell

And still doing big finish
I love David Bradley and he's a great doctor but I can never unsee him a Filch from Harry potter 😂😂
Just me who is still confused about Time Fracture and Time Lord Victorious? No? Ok...
Time Fracture is part of the Timelord Victorious event. Basicly, it's UNIT's side of the story as far as I got it.
@@timrob12 yeah, it was just kinda like this is happening, a bit of a rip off imo, you pay for the escape room, live event, comics, audiobooks etc
@@NotAgnor But you don't need them all to follow the story. So far, I am only reading the novels and I get the story just fine.
I’m not; I’ve just completely ignored the whole lot.
It wasn’t easy come Christmas, I must say; almost every single present I got was TLV-based in some way, so just got discarded immediately. 😭

Flushed, just like every franchise recently.
“Flushed”?
@@DrWhoFanJ You ever use a toilet?
@@FoulPet I don’t see how this relates to Time fracture?
@@EditedAF987 So you're of the opinion Dr Who hasn't been damaged beyond repair thanks to the current trend of stupidity? Even if new writers take over all the franchises that have been crapped on during the last few years, they have all been tainted by cancer and will never be the same.
@@FoulPet this isn’t the show’s first big catastrophe or dip in quality, have you already forgotten about series 7 and 8? Or Hell Bent?
What about the behind the scenes production nightmare that was season 23? It was so hellish they made a terrible song out of it called “Doctor in Distress” which was basically cast and crew begging not to be cancelled. If the show could recover from that then it can probably (and hopefully) recover from whatever Chibnall pulls.
But even if this “cancer” as you call it has irrevocably ruined the show, what does that have to do with time fracture? This is an immersive theatre event that has nothing to do with the show and probably has no involvement from Chibnall. That’s like saying the Star Wars sequel trilogy ruined the mandalorian or the upcoming Kenobi series.
