I am running a bit late (sept 29th!), but it was a great idea to walk down Memory Lane again, indulging in guilty pleasure video footage / mentions of DM, Lloyd Cole, the Cult...and Fish! I cherish dearly my student nights at Ritzy-Plymouth 92-93. Grateful thanks to you Matt. 🧚♀
Better late than never🤣…another great addition to the series! I particularly liked the ending 10 minutes or so….could watch a whole video of you just going through old music magazines…very entertaining. Cheers!
I was on YTS in a tiny builders office inputting thousands of old invoices in triplicate , it was sweltering luckily I had Laser 555 pirate radio to listen to which did occasionally play Eyes Without a face by Billy idol , the van Halen album 1984 was big
@@MatthewNorthMusic Going to the newsagent to see the one-off or serial pop magazines was such a joy in the '80s, almost as much as going to a record shop itself. Info about your favourite band could be really hard to come by in those days. I remember the excitement of spotting a magazine I hadn't seen before with FGTH in it, for example. My dad worked for the Government in the '80s, and would often travel to Germany on business. He would bring back LOADS of German pop magazines that were full of interviews with the British stars of the day. I guess kids have some kind of equivalent today, but I really miss finding stuff like that in local shops and putting the posters on my bedroom walls.
