Loving it, what a great vlog. You make me laugh so much but oh boy you educate as the same time. Bless you and thank you. No bungees, definitely no bungees other than in the garage….I keep mine in a cupboard, for emergencies!!
Hilarious! Behind all the hilarity though, is clearly a lot of hard work, careful planning and somehow you still manage to throw in some golden nuggets of information and tips! It is looking good! For the cabinets, why not have a spring hinged lip that goes all the way across? Best of both worlds and could even be left down when the van is stationary. (Edits: spelling and mistypes!)
Have watched many van conversion channels, but this is fast becoming one of my favourites with the comedic banter. The sponsor segment was gold. "She's a good tool passerer..." 😂😭😂

Also appreciated is the way you both show the process and preperation for the assembly of each item, in a way it can be understood by everyone. The layout inside is very practical and not cluttered. Nice video and very good work. For safety, all non factory conversions of vans with bulkheads should also consider how crashworthy the installed furniture is as debris and shrapnel may fly into the cab area in such a scenario.
About 30 years ago in the house I tried something with the bathroom exhaust I put the exhaust on an exterior wall next to the toilet at seat level it was the best thing I ever did . pull that stink out before it gets to your nose years later they came out with an exhaust fan that was almost silent with more pull . I even saw a ex Sainsbury Van yesterday when I was out with my Eldest on her Hack out, She made me walk along with her. well until they started to trot and this old fart can't keep up. It was being used as Hire Van. It has got me thinking again of building my own, but once the kids don't want to come camping with Mum and Dad. I do like the panel Saw as it takes up less room that a full size cabinet saw. I have to make do with a Track saw and a site saw. Those Kreg Jigs are brilliant. I have used mine a fair bit as if you plan how your using them you don't have to fill or plug the holes. That said I do also have there plug cutter, which I have even managed to cut plugs out of MDF, for when you can't hide the pocket hole. Another great tool for joining cabinets is the Domino. Trend is making the Domino Dowels now so it will not be long possibly before they release their own version as Festool's Patient must have run out, with them making slightly cheaper Domino Dowels. Looking forward to the next installment of Jon's Tools and Jess's Guns! Oh and the next stage of the build.

😂😂😂 to give him his dues it has been pretty handy already. We are very lucky with the workshop although there’d be a lot more space if he didn’t have multiples of. EVERYTHING! 😂 we use biscuits too, mostly for joining thicker bits of board to make a big flat piece, like most of the furniture and worktops in our house are built out of reclaimed scaffold boards so use them to join the boards together length ways, we prefer pocket holes for 90 degree joins and thinner wood even though the fillings a pain. Yes, in the garage 😂😂😂
Great video, I have learnt a good few things from watching your build. Thanks guys for taking the time to explain what you're doing and most importantly how. This has give me more so much more confidence to do my own now.

Oh my god never blinking laughed so much, you pair are right fruit bowls 🤪🤪. Absolutely love your vlogs I used to live up in kings lynn. Looking forward to next weeks ventures lol stay safe both take care xx
It's amazing! As nice as the wide open space of the interior looks - I think to myself- not possible. And, then miraculously you not only get all the creature comforts; bed, shower, kitchen - but, it actually looks bigger! And, all your crazy humor makes the build look effortless & fun! (probably, not). Looks great! even though waiting for final touches!
What an excellent choice for a conversion, and so professionally done. We'll done. Also your content and presenting style is worthy of TV broadcast. Subbed
Love what he doing with the van, just remember if you're going somewhere cold the metal will have condensation and if too cold you might stick to it. Looking forward to seeing it finished.
Me and my missus subscribed, after YT algorithms showed us your Sainsburys van's inaugural vid. We look forward to the next video each time now. We love your banter, but also I'm building a tiny home myself next year, so we have a laugh and learn too. Thanks guys! 😊
Hi friends! You are both hysterical! Really enjoyed this video Your build is looking very good and so fast! John your hair looks great Good for windy days Look forward to your next video Love and hugs from Sharon in SA
Another great video. And to think, my Mrs made me watch Strictly earlier….my eyes were rolling for 2 hours in a state of semi consciousness - and here I am now, drinking a beer in the kitchen at 23:10hrs watching this vid listening to her snoring upstairs in bed. Heaven!
Just come across your channel and so glad I did - you two are a perfect match for each other. The fun that you two generate is just what the doctor ordered. Your workmanship is first class and attention to detail is second to none. Jess, I can clearly see that you are the boss, and I have to agree with you - absolutely no bungees in the living area (would destroy the whole aesthetics), garage area is fine. Looking forward to further vlogs.
Only discovered you two at the start of this build and you quickly became one of my fave channels (and I follow about 40). Perfect build for me. I wouldn't need to pull the bed out unless I had a visitor 😜 so my dog would have floor space (he ain't allowed on the bed/couch).... Good job
If I ever buy a plot of land will you two build the tiny home village that I dream of. A circle of houses (all back gardens will not be overlooked) my tiny home will be in the middle with a wrap around porch/veranda (as if living on a roundabout) and the village shop will be the first building and it'll be my shop 😂
Guys, I found your channel two days ago and I’m sad to say I’ve lost two days of my life just watching your back catalogue of your videos! Thought I enjoyed the travel beans channel until I found you both. Great personalities, a cracking couple, and Jon, I’ve got tool envy along with envy of your practical skills! Owning three classic Vw beetles myself I like to think I’m quite patient and creative, but you two take it to the next level. I could do with some of Your knowledge and experience on the mechanicals. Your channel is just brilliant. Throughly enjoyed it and you’ve made my Saturday evening to see you’ve got a new upload. All the best to you both, I’m expecting your channel will blow up in the coming months and rightfully so. All the best, Ben

BTW, when you guys are coming to the true north, I would love to show you one of Europe's biggest rapids that never freeze no matter the temperature, and some northen lights!
Hey J & J😁. Great vid, been following for quite a while now and loving the adventures! I would love a bit more on costings, especially the defender, it would be good to have a comparison with yourselves and the average coach builder? Keep them coming, can't wait for Scandinavia!!!❤
Hi Ian, thanks for watching. We did a cost breakdown video on the defender you can watch it here 😊 ua-cam.com/video/kdErkCdPo4E/v-deo.html Sorry we don’t know how much it would cost to get built by someone else as we’ve never looked into it as we enjoy doing it ourselves 💙
I know you wouldn't have the information on professional coach building. It is just ballpark figures so I could see what the savings are, if the hours are put in by yourself. Sorry I missed the Defender cost breakdown, I will catch up when I get home. Maybe throw a figure in to the corner of the screen at the end of every build video, I'm just being nosey? Anyhow, great job, keep them coming and stay happy.😁
I'm afraid I am a bit late to the party of subscribers and as the first video I've seen of you guys, it's a breath of fresh air to most of the mundane content creators. Both your personalities shine through and enjoy the back and forth quips along with the helpful tips and tricks. Well earned subscription from me.
I hate when you say “see you next week“ it’s a reminder of how much time I have to wait for another video 😭😩I love your videos
😂😂😂😂😂😂 thanks 😁
Another fantastic episode, roll on the next one..lol..
Cheers David 👍
Great video, I have learnt a good few things from watching your build. Thanks guys for taking the time to explain what you're doing and most importantly how. This has give me more so much more confidence to do my own now.
Thanks John I’m glad it’s been helpful to you 😁
Recent subscriber here. Loving your videos and banter. And amazing what you’ve achieved in a short space of time - both with the builds and with your channel. Keep up the good work! 😊
Thanks very much seamus, the weather has been quite good to us so it’s been nice to be able to crack on, tables are turning now tho, fast 😂😂😂
Jess, you have so much patience,I’m surprised you haven’t said”see you next tool’s day” to Jon yet,lol
😂😂😂
😂😂😂 That’s a good one!!! He drives me mad but luckily I love the fool… or should I say tool 😂
Oh my god never blinking laughed so much, you pair are right fruit bowls 🤪🤪. Absolutely love your vlogs I used to live up in kings lynn. Looking forward to next weeks ventures lol stay safe both take care xx
Thanks Alison 😁 💙 so grateful that your following along 😁
Outstanding build, love your videos, better than anything on the telly😊
Wow, thank you! That’s very nice of you to say, much appreciated 💙
Thanks Judith, the plan worked out out perfectly, we were confident, honest 😂
Great build you are both doing such a good job.
Can’t wait for the next episode and I’m loving the tool talk 😁😁😁😁😁😁
Cheers mate much appreciated, 👍😁
What an excellent choice for a conversion, and so professionally done. We'll done. Also your content and presenting style is worthy of TV broadcast. Subbed
Thanks very much for that😁 it’s much appreciated 👍
Love what he doing with the van, just remember if you're going somewhere cold the metal will have condensation and if too cold you might stick to it. Looking forward to seeing it finished.
Cheers mate 😁👍
Brilliant love the build and the two of you's banter 👍
Loving the track saw 😉
She’s a beauty isn’t she 👌 cheers mate great to hear you enjoy it
Another banger guys! ❤ I have the same panel saw it’s a beast!
Cheers mate, they are Brilliant hey 👍
Me and my missus subscribed, after YT algorithms showed us your Sainsburys van's inaugural vid. We look forward to the next video each time now. We love your banter, but also I'm building a tiny home myself next year, so we have a laugh and learn too. Thanks guys! 😊
Thanks guys that’s much appreciated 😁
Loving the progress you guys are making. You need to have your own show on tv. You should transfer your skills to narrow boats etc
Thanks Andrew, we are stoked with how it’s shaping up. A narrow boat could be fun!!
Hi friends! You are both hysterical! Really enjoyed this video Your build is looking very good and so fast! John your hair looks great Good for windy days Look forward to your next video Love and hugs from Sharon in SA
Thank you so much Sharon 💙 so lovely to hear it gave you a laugh 😁 but dear god don’t encourage him about the boofy mop he’s currently calling hair 😂
Lol okay! Can you imagine what that hair does on a really windy day! Have a great week! ❤
Another great video. And to think, my Mrs made me watch Strictly earlier….my eyes were rolling for 2 hours in a state of semi consciousness - and here I am now, drinking a beer in the kitchen at 23:10hrs watching this vid listening to her snoring upstairs in bed. Heaven!
😂😂😂😂 brilliant 😂
Just come across your channel and so glad I did - you two are a perfect match for each other. The fun that you two generate is just what the doctor ordered. Your workmanship is first class and attention to detail is second to none. Jess, I can clearly see that you are the boss, and I have to agree with you - absolutely no bungees in the living area (would destroy the whole aesthetics), garage area is fine. Looking forward to further vlogs.
Thanks very much Ken, yes Ken 👍💪 no bungees is the way 😂 thanks for following along with us 😁
Great build guys and it’s coming on so quick, loving the tool selection 😎
Cheers Nigel 👍
Another great watch and I will see you next week, also liked your facebook.
Cheers mate much appreciated 👍
John reminds me of "Doc" from Back to the Future! 😂😂
😂😂😂😂 if he keeps going there will be no future for him 🤦♀️💪
Gotta love your sponsorship section... normally I skip UA-cam adverts, but this one I was tempted to rewind! 😂
😂😂😂 maybe he did a better job than I thought, I was reviewing our contract 😂
Thanks very much, that’s kind of you. I’m guessing Sonny is your dog and he looks gorgeous from your profile picture 💙
@@truebluetravellers Sonny is my dog and he's the best dog. Your dog is super cute too
You guys are hilarious, great video. Camper looks awesome. Loved the “this weeks sponsor is….Jess” 😂
Cheers mark, although he didn’t really promote me well enough in my eyes 😂
Videos get better every week! Vans looking wicked! I want it 🙏🏻
Cheers Chris, much appreciated 👍
All the best,
Ben
Ben, your a star, love getting these messages and love that your enjoying them, it’s much appreciated mate 👍💙
Lucky you. Got the billlty. And healthy life to do it not many have. Good luck 🇬🇧🙏
Thanks very much Arthur 👍
Top work and top bantz 😅 Love John's hair with the blower ! He needs to do a calender for the ladies 😂
😂 cheers mate, don’t worry if I do I’ll be sending u one too 😉😂
@@truebluetravellers Can't wait 😄
Happy Sunday, another great vid. Love watching you guys. Fet saw in the house, yesssss.
Oh yeeeeeesssssss 👍👍👍👍👍😂😂😂
John. You're starting looking like Ed China from Wheeler Dealers mate. Love the banter between you two. Seriously the build is brilliant.Thank you Jess for sponsoring john new saw. I hope you continue to sponsor. Great content you guys .looking forward for your next vid 😊
😂😂😂 gold! Thanks very much, I’m not sure I’m satisfied with my 60 sec of promotion so he might be pushing it for future deals 😂😂
Hey Jess, I agree. Jon's looking like Fido Dido with a beard going on 🤣
😂😂😂 had to google this but burst out laughing when I did 😂👌
@@truebluetravellers 🤣 love it. Loving the channel. Only discovered you yesterday and have binge watched hours so far. I've been following "touringwiththekids" and "jammygits" both brilliant channels for you if you don't already follow them.
Love the content you guys bring, and the banter between you is brilliant. Keep it coming, looking forward to more soon 👌🏻👍🏻
Is looking bloody brilliant !
Well done you 2
Thanks ever so much 💙 that’s lovely of you to say
Ever since i seen this van build its pickled my head as i really really need to get one of these and follow suit but not finished my 1st van yet :)
😂😂😂 what van u converting mate ?
Damn, just got your channel in my recommended like a week ago. Can't stop watching all your vids now, waiting for the next to come up as they're so good!
Been wanting to do a campervan for 10 years but life and business have come in the way. And this build, as a northen Swede is like a dreambuild as not many have made builds for our climate. Really love your vids, keep em' coming!
BTW, when you guys are coming to the true north, I would love to show you one of Europe's biggest rapids that never freeze no matter the temperature, and some northen lights!
Cheers mate that’s much appreciated, can’t wait to get traveling in the beast 👍
😂😂😂😂😂💪🏻💪🏻 🔧 brilliant as ever, can’t wait for the next instalment, cheers.
Cheers mate 👍
I think when the van is travelling around the bungee cords will be featuring at some point 😂
😂😂 I’ll have to watch he doesn’t sneak any in😂
@@truebluetravellers 😂😂 they will appear, I’m not a gambling man but I’d put a quid on that bet 😂😂
Great team work...Jess, not sure about cake for breakfast 😮 Love you guys ❤❤
😂😂😂 it’s a regular thing with her Susan 🤷♂️😂
That bit with the hair was giving off serious Marv getting electrocuted in Home Alone 2 vibes!
😂😂😂😂 I’m gonna miss all these marv jokes when I get it chopped 😂👍
We did a cost breakdown video on the defender you can watch it here 😊
ua-cam.com/video/kdErkCdPo4E/v-deo.html
Sorry we don’t know how much it would cost to get built by someone else as we’ve never looked into it as we enjoy doing it ourselves 💙
The high level cabinets alloy angle adds strength and looks good .
👍 cheers mate we think so too 👍
You could put a door in between the seat and the kitchen so if it is cod out you do not need to go out side to get in garage.
We did think of that, still might do it 🤔
Great video and love your style ( and banter !) .. totally agree. No bungies 👍💞
Thanks Johanna 😁 him and his stupid bungees 🤦♀️😂
Great episode again guys, informative and as funny as ever. Roll on the next one...
Thanks terry 👍😁
I'm afraid I am a bit late to the party of subscribers and as the first video I've seen of you guys, it's a breath of fresh air to most of the mundane content creators. Both your personalities shine through and enjoy the back and forth quips along with the helpful tips and tricks. Well earned subscription from me. Now going to go catch up with the rest of your videos :)
Thanks very much Timmy, thanks for following along with us 😁
Hi John/Jess, my first time watching today and I really enjoyed watching your program. But you must be a proper carpenter to do work like that very professional. The best commentary on the job including your tools etc great. Only problem is you guys are making me homesick as we live in Western Australia. I don’t know where you are living now but it looks very nice are you guys from Hertfordshire area? Anyhow great video guys thanks. PS he deserves a bungee🥴🥴 Jon 🇦🇺🇬🇧
😂😂 thanks 😊, no im a mechanic and Jess worked for the council.
Funnily enough Jess was born and raised in WA and I lived there for 4 years too, it’s where we first met, and no matter what country we are in we always miss the other, I get where the term ping pong pom comes from now,
we live in Norfolk tho but miss WA like crazy 😊👍
