Parashuram's Bhushandir Mathe by Utsav- adapted from Kharaj Mukherjee's Bengali comedy

“Bhushandir Maathe” is a well-known novel written by eminent Bengali writer, Rajshekhar Basu, aka Parashuram. Utsav's presentation is adapted from the extremely versatile actor, Kharaj Mukherjee’s dramatization of the novel.
Shibu Bhotchaj, the protagonist of the play, lives in village called Peneti, near Sheorafuli. His life is made unbearable by his dominating and quarrelsome wife, Netyakali. The daily quarrels lead him to seek divine intervention by the Goddess Kali, by praying for Netya’s death. But the Goddess misunderstands his intentions, and Shibu dies instead. He wakes up in the netherworld, and discovers he has become a ghost in Bhushandir Maath, adjacent to the Keoratola crematorium. Destiny then hands over the reins of his fate to the spectres of Bhushandir Maath. Will Shibu get the freedom in death, that he so intensely sought for in life?!
