Red Means Recording - Dude, you and Accurate have helped inspired me to learn to make music, after coming off of years of dark depression. I'm a long ways from doing the sort of stuff you guys do, but I've been looking at the work both of you guys do to keep me feeling inspired and motivated. It's especially great watching the process you guys take, as it gives me lots of ideas on how to approach things, and ideas just to try out and see how it works. Thank you for taking your time to produce the videos you have.
LaymensLament how?! did he just marked the spot of the snare and cut it out, I dont know did he silence the marked spot, did he do something else... I just don‘t fucking know
Chopped sample, raw beat, bass line and scratch. Sometime that's the only things you need in the beat. This is perfect man and it sounds great! Onelove
Thanks. I do agree. A nice beat doesn’t need a lot of extra fancy stuff. You can go really far with just the basic parts of a beat. Thanks for watching
Bro i just came across your channel and im super moved by what you are going through. i pray that you regain the fullness of your senses and abilities and that you come out stronger and brighter than ever. Sending you lots of love my bro !
Serato sample can do this with one button. Keep/tweak the slices that you like, and refresh the shit slices with new ones. It might take you about 5 mins max to get the perfect slices you want, predominantly with one button.
You are steady becoming my favorite channel thanks for all the inspiration. And knowledge you drop for those of us just getting into the game and for those well versed already.
Love the beat! Little note to any producers out there who struggle with identifying pitch like myself. Ableton has a great tuner, which you can use to find the root note of a sample. Keep up the awesome work!
Filed this one under "inspiration". Man, I'm just learning to create music for the first time, and videos like yours have been helping me to feel inspired, and seeing your process gives me tons of idea on how to approach music making.
I just wanted to drop a little follow up. I found your video to be the most informative I found; regarding sampling in Maschine and how to make use of those samples. I followed through and did some of my first sample based beats. This is so fun and cool, and this is the video that sparked that fire. Thanks for the time you took to produce these videos. I can't give much back right now, but I hope these words can be enough to encourage you further, as you've encouraged me.
You are by far my favorite channel to watch man!!! I wish I had the skill you do. Sampling and making hip hop music is my dream but I dont own a turn table nor an mpc, only an akai mpd. I sample everything on my DAW and its not only time consuming, but less inspiring. I can't make patterns like you do on the pads. I don't know how hard it is to learn how to sample like you do, but I would look forward to a series of videos with you showing how! If you already have some then I'm just blind hahaha. Thank you for once again making an amazing beat! You're the best!!
Thanks a lot man! I appreciate the comment! I used to chop my samples up with a mouse and keyboard inside on NI's Kontakt and triggering the samples with a 'korg padkontrol'. I know the hustle you're talking about. The fact of the matter is that was the way I learned how to come up with patterns and making my samples work for me instead of against me. The inspiration and the workflow is waay different when you get something like Maschine or Ableton Push but the music is still much more than just gear. For me its mainly a matter of coming up with a good idea for a beat, not so much using the right equipment but yeah... Maschine enables me to work fast and get the idea down before I forget about it. Thanks for watching my channel! I'll make more videos on sampling too, I promise!
Accurate Beats Thanks for the reply! I'm actually about to invest in a Mk3 and can't way to experience the workflow once I learn it. You're and inspiration man and one of the few channels keeping my sampling passion alive! Thanks!
Nice work man!! I learned alot just from this video only, like the part that you used the end of the snare as your hihat! Rly awesome trick, never thought of that. You sir got yourself a new subscriber!! Keep up the good work and keep it real!
I just found you channel and I love your work flow first of all, so good at making beats and instructing. I really love how you add pricing links and what type of laptop your using with the specs, this has helped soooooo much, I can't thank you enough for doing this because I been looking for a set up and how you do what you do has made the looking 100% easier. Your amazing!
Hi , first off, great channel, great beats. I am using Maschine too and i wonder at 06:36 u pitch the sample. This usually harms the tempo, changes the tempo. Do u keep that in mind and do little pitches not affect it enough to really be a problem? Otherwise asked, is there a way to pich the chops without affecting the tempo? Greetings from Bavaria to everyone.

This is really nice!!! I love the melody and drums are cool!!. Do more beats like this one! 👍😉🔥🔥
Agreed! I think my whole limitation with Maschine / NI sometimes is just not knowing how to do things so easily, but to that point I could most definitely put more time into learning it myself so it's 50/50 :)
Yeah. It feel like that method is a bit more "old school". I just cant find pleasure in using the other methods in maschine either. Thanks for watching!
Not to mention it gives you more flexibility. For instance, if you load a full song into the sampler, and the chops you want to use are at different points in the song you can dial em' in without having a bunch of extra unnecessary chops in between.
When you were sampling in edit more, how were you able to manually slice the tracks to a next pad, whenever I hit the next pad next to it, it automatically goes to the record window. I'm talking about what you did exactly at 2:00. What's the best way to manually slice you just did it so fast I coudn't see exactly what you did.
Oh, sorry. Hold "duplicate" -> hit the pad that has the sample, keep holding "duplicate" and hit an empty pad. That just copies the sample to the new pad and you're able to change the start/end points on the new one. Super convenient workaflow!
Thanks! 2 options: 1. Turntables output to the input on the mixer. The mixers output to the inputs on Maschine. 2. Turntable output to the mixers input. The mixers output to the inputs on my audio interface. One of the outputs on my audio interface to the inputs on Maschine. Hope that helps :)
Hmmm, I did upgrade the komplete mk1 keyboard to mk2, but I'm not convinced I should give up the studio as well. So, I think I'll pass on the mk3. I did however, get into the mpc line as well, going with the X, and it's phenominal in my opinion, I feel that I'm pretty set on hardware. Thanks for the run down.
Superb stuff! I loved the beat and performance, especially the so-called bridge part. Is the final track available online? I have a question though. I have seen quite a few videos where the artists sample parts like this from records and chop them up to create a beat/song. Is it legal to do so when releasing music created in this way commercially? Thank you!
Hi, just bought MK3 and am super excited about to start sampling my vinyl collection. My question is - can you explain where is the border between yeah, take this sample and play with it and wow wow, you need some permission from the creator of the actual track? Thank you!! ;) Love your tutorials btw!!
If your beat/music blows up. Then you need to pay the creator but if your just a small time producer then I "personally" would not ask permission since money and hassle. At the end of the day sampling is stealing somebody's song
Sampling is just pitching up the song and not making it sound like the original so I don’t really think you have to have permission. Many producers don’t do that
Great beat this and great tutorials I struggle with base lines but that's a great idea finding the notes with piano first never thought of that!! I subscribed!!!
Glad i watch this video because i just bought this drum machine. Im still learning. Me being a writer and rapper and amateur comedian. Its time to produce
I can scratch good like you can but i have no knowledge about samplers or launchpad like machines. I would realy like to record and chop samples from records like you do but is there something cheaper then this maschine? I like the pads but also would like a keyboard to pitch samples fast and play with the tone low to high of the samples. I am a noob at this so could you give me some options on what to buy? I have seen the mini launchpad novation what works with ableton but i do not know if i can record from record or just record voice from mike for example.. A looooonngg time ago i had a casio sk 1 and from then on i only scratched a lot with a local hip hop band that is why i do like sampling and playing with cool samples and sounds 😅👍. You have amazing content about these machines on your channel, maybe i need to check all your videos first and then come back to you with questions 🤣 anyway i liked this a lot!! Searching a long time actualy for something amazing like this! 💥💪💯 Well done!!
Dope video! I got a Mpc 2000xl. My friend has a Mpc One I messed with it I like it a lot I’m going to get one also. I like the MMK3 also the notes and chords are phenomenal also the sounds!
Accurate Beats I be conflicted most of my best music was sampled. But it was never my thing, building off others work makes me feel indebted. But it provides a groove very hard to recreate. I'm going to try to resample myself. Lol
"there's a big difference between what I could do, and what I should do" wise words, thanks for the great video!
This is great. Thanks for taking the time even though you're sick!
Red Means Recording - Dude, you and Accurate have helped inspired me to learn to make music, after coming off of years of dark depression. Nice, I liked that little tip where you removed the snare from the sample, very usefull!
+DeeAceBeats Thanks! Yeah I try to give some advice from time to time.
Glad you liked it
I kinda don't really understood what you did :(
he removed the snare from the sample, what exactly dont you understand?
LaymensLament how?! did he just marked the spot of the snare and cut it out, I dont know did he silence the marked spot, did he do something else... I just don‘t fucking know
I marked it and cut it out... Just make sure the wave form matches up
I've been thinking about getting a Mk3 for ages now and after watching this I'm definitely getting one!! Great vid and beat
Thanks Adam!
Nice. The scratches at the end put the icing on the cake.
Man, finally I found somebody that does not hide the details...keep rockin'
this beat has serious potential just needs a base line with Nas on the mic your golden
Thanks!
Word word
That's my boy Mac! Always giving out solid advice! Keep it up homie!!!
Mac Joseph nas doesn’t rap on these type beats tbh
I want a track with Inspectah Deck and AZ on this beat
In my opinion, one of the best beats you've done so far. It's sounds amazing!! Keep it up!!
Tight beat. Great visuals. Your production value is awesome. :)
I think that sound you put on at the end was dope. The one you took off. It was like a horn kinda. Great work. You know your stuff
I know it old but I could watch you do this all day !
Nice to see you're back in the lab! I lacked motivation and this got me back going.
Yeah man. My motivation comes and goes from day to day. I love making these beat making videos though! Glad I could inspire

The beat is DONE! it doesnt need anything else. So dope
This is still one of my favorite vids of all time. I’ve written down this recipe and pull it out often
Haha! Thanks a lot man!
As always, great stuff! Love those gospel music samples!
Love this master piece of hip hop beat creating craft documentary 👍 Thanks I really enjoyed this one and as a result I am now following ✌
so satisfied to watch you work. just learned a lot from your workflow
Wow just got an mk3 and loved seeing your workflow and reasoning behind your decisions. Great stuff can’t wait to see more
Got that same record with a signature from one of the band members. Great album full of samples!
Serato sample can do this with one button. Keep/tweak the slices that you like, and refresh the shit slices with new ones. It might take you about 5 mins max to get the perfect slices you want, predominantly with one button.
Really like your use of turntables at the end..
The scratches just finished it greatly
Woooow fire 🔥🔥🔥 I love it... I should start sampling more
i was recommended to buy a mk3 micro and came here to look for vids.... Blown away, seriously talented. Subscribed, cant wait to watch more.
You are steady becoming my favorite channel thanks for all the inspiration. And knowledge you drop for those of us just getting into the game and for those well versed already.
wow! Thanks a lot!
Story of my life. That little snare others me a lot! Haa
Love the beat! Little note to any producers out there who struggle with identifying pitch like myself. Ableton has a great tuner, which you can use to find the root note of a sample. Keep up the awesome work!
Ordered my first drum machine based on your videos. So much fun to watch!!
Your channel should blow up already ....man please continue uploading !!!🙏🙏 (awesome beat btw)
Thanks a lot! I'll keep making my videos no matter how the views looks. I appreciate everyone watching!

+Palatable Platypus oh thanks! I love hearing that anyone finds my videos inspirational. Good luck with your own music making and just go for it!

i been droling over a mk3 for days now.. hope one day i get to own one!
Just stay motivated and the day will come!
Bro, just get a used one for half the price. I see them selling on ebay for $400 or less.
NI shared this on their Maschine Facebook group! Nice to see you gettin recognised my dude!
So that's how you made it. Such a chill beat
This beat is lit

Very dope. Was awesome to watch, I really liked how you layered those bass sounds!

Accurate. That was straight🔥🔥🔥🔥👍🏻
+Christian Martines thanks!!
That beat is amazing
You should be the next member in the Snowgoons! You would fit in just right!
You just sold another Mk3 picked mines up after your first sample beat video, peace ✌️
Nice work man!! I learned alot just from this video only, like the part that you used the end of the snare as your hihat! Rly awesome trick, never thought of that. You sir got yourself a new subscriber!! Keep up the good work and keep it real!
this dude blitzed through his process like it’s nothing damn talk about experience

keep going man, you've got the skills, production quality, and vibes straight. You blowup will come before you know it
Thank you man! I really appreciate it
Would love to see how you deleted the snares more in-depth.
I might make another video on it. :)
Thanks!
Agreed! I think my whole limitation with Maschine / NI sometimes is just not knowing how to do things so easily, but to that point I could most definitely put more time into learning it myself so it's 50/50 :)
Yeah that's how I chop my samples too. I think that's how people that started on the Roger Linn MPC's as well as the ASR-10 prefer to chop as well.
Yeah. It feel like that method is a bit more "old school". I just cant find pleasure in using the other methods in maschine either.
Thanks for watching!
Not to mention it gives you more flexibility. For instance, if you load a full song into the sampler, and

Nice workflow on Mk3, beat is nice.
Sounds like a DJ Premier beat. I like it.

Fantastic video. Keep it up! Totally agree with you that the track was finished.
That beat is so freaking perfect !
Fyeeee one question, how u connect the turntable to the Maschine ?
Thanks!
2 options:
1. Turntables output to the input on the mixer. The mixers output to the inputs on Maschine.
2. Turntable output to the mixers input.
The mixers output to the inputs on my audio interface.
One of the outputs on my audio interface to the inputs on Maschine.
Hope that helps :)
Welcome to 2020 and this beat is still a CERTIFIED BANGER!
Hmmm, I did upgrade the komplete mk1 keyboard to mk2, but I'm not convinced I should give up the studio as well. So, I think I'll pass on the mk3. From a gospel rapper stand point, this is dope

Simply...you are amazing guy
Mon frère tu es le meilleur 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾👍🏾💥✨🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Whoa the MK3 looks so sick!!! I'm still rockin' the MK1 xD Wavy sampling though! That sounded awesome. :D
+D'Angelo Gonzalez thanks a lot!
Mk1 still gets the job done though!
Thanks for watching
Straight fire, 1nce again 💣!!!
yo this was dope, you chopped the fuck outta that sample. salute
Still one of my favorite Episode!!!
Love this mate, sounds 👌
I love it, you are a master 🎹🥁📀
I wish I could do that! very nice!
Thanks
Nice beat bro!
Regards from Chile
I'd love to scratch over ur beats bro. Proper good stuff, nice work
How long have you been messin with drum machines? How long was the learning curve?
Dope video! I got a Mpc 2000xl. My friend has a Mpc One I messed with it I like it a lot I’m going to get one also. I like the MMK3 also the notes and chords are phenomenal also the sounds!
Super dope bro! Im about to get me this machine
This is 🔥 sir. Guess I'm going to have to start sampling something .
Thanks!
Just get to it! Sampling is awsome
Accurate Beats I be conflicted most of my best music was sampled. But it was never my thing, building off others work makes me feel indebted. But it provides a groove very hard to recreate. I'm going to try to resample myself. Lol
Sounds really good , love this 😀
You fucking nailed it!!! 🔥 🔥 🔥 Your beat is dope as hell
yes brother nice beat, was wondering do you use the tape machine for your masterings of tracks or to run samples from?
Geeze man you're wild!! Gonna make me have to go grab a maschine and learn how to sample like this! Beats are too nice bro
Thanks a lot!
Maschine MK3 i a beast! It takes a while to learn it but it sure is a nice piece of kit to have in any home studio!
Accurate Beats right on bro!! I bet it takes a bit. I used to have the mikro and loved it
Was always curious did you ever make beats for big named artist ? Or even local artists
I wish people didn't play the full beat before they make it 😭 I want it to be fresh while your making it but ik what to expect that way
Ah... I see your point
Fan va’ dope!!! Du får det att se så jävla enkel ut...har du tänkt på att göra nån ”tutorial” nån gång? Skulle uppskattas ....
Really love how it bounce 🔥
