OK this is blocked in 244 countries, probably because it has members from more than one band in it so copyright is tricky. If you live in Micronesia you may still be able to see it ;-)
Hi Hedgy, glad you liked Borknagar. They are a super group actually... consisting of ICS Vortex (vocals, bass) - Arcturus/ ex Dimmu Borgir Lars Nedland (vocals, keys) - ex Carpathian Forest Andreas Hedlund aka Vintersorg (harsh vocals) - check out his solo work, he is great Oystein Brun (Guitars) Baard Kolstad (drums) - Leprous / ex Abbath The lead vocals in this song is from Kristoffer Rygg aka Garm --- founder of Borknagar, left in mid 90s. You may know him, he is the founder and front man of the legendary Ulver. He made a guest appearance in this album.
I know your comment is a year old and you are probably aware of this, but Andreas Hedlund has since left the band to focus on his main band, Vintersorg. Lars Nedlund (aka Lazare) is also a founding member of Solefald. Cheers!
haha, did NOT expect that! Never got a request fulfilled so far, but glad you liked it! Name was more or less correct, it is a label first and foremost and more or less has become a online moniker for me. translated from GE to BE would be something like lout, tyke, yob, bugger (can also be translated as... you know what I mean *chrm chrm* "willy" but that wasn't my intended notion). I don't mind that LiV can't fulfill every request, with their channel going through the roof lately and all that. that is why I try my requests with other reactors as well, tzehehe... maybe we can make you react to other stuff apart from Rock/Metal as well (I have songs from a lot of different genres on my mind right now)? Anyway, thanks!
Great band, great song! New subscriber here. There are 4 singers in this song actually...only 2 in the band now (Simen Hestnæs aka ICS Vortex and Lars Nedlund aka Lazare). As mentioned in the comment by RuBH, Kristoffer Rygg aka Garm was a founding member of the band but did a guest appearance on this album and Andreas Hedlund aka Vintersorg has since left the band. Borknagar has just released a new album in September and it also is very good (they have never made a bad album IMO). Cheers!
There were 4 vocalists out there. My favourite is Kristoffer Rygg - one of the most beautiful baritones I've heard. ICS Vortex is also outstanding. The song has many great moments but it's a tiny bit too long. They were all members of Borknagar at different times, here all 4 at once. The drummer - Baard Kolstad was 24 when they recorded it. He's an epitome of a success. Hard work, passion and creativity can get you from buskering in the streets to being a part of an epic band.
Now, this is a surprise! ... Yes, Vortex (ex-Dimmu) sings there as well. Don't know who of them reminds me of Ihsahn (Emperor vocalist). Please do Insomnium "While We Sleep" (have also been insisting, since October, that Lost in Vegas should do them too).
Curious to hear what you think of the album as a whole. I like the three vocalists and a few tracks, but remember it as being pretty inconsistent. Ill have to give it another listen.
Loved tht album, some real highlights in Rhymes of the Mountain and Erodent. I consider it a great album for easing people into Black Metal as a genre as the mix of singers styles and the more neutral lyrics makes it less of a sonic wall or culture shock to overcome.
ULVER "BLOOD INSIDE" one of the best avantgarde black metal albums you ever heard, it will blow you away.. PLEASE react to it, you wont regret it. another one is DØDHEIMSGARD "666 INTERNATIONAL" it takes a few more listenings, but when it hits you it takes a hold of your soul. after that you are ready for VED BUENS ENDE "written in waters" and then you can call yourself an afficionado of norwegian avantgarde black metal
You haven't done Dark Tranquillity yet! Pioneers of Melodig Death Metal and they still put out good records after over 20 years being active. Atoma from their latest album is really good :)
Hi hedgy, you have a best perception of music among reactors. Please, react to "Archspire - Relentless Mutation." It is nothing you have heard before, guarantee

See it here in the USA.

Great band. Kind of like a super group in fact. For instance the drummer is also in Leprous which i understand you are familiar with.
I've just bought the CD from Amazon.co.uk for £4!!! with instant download too. That's too cheap.
I wish j rock/metal albums where this cheap, some are sky high.

Mastodon has four vocalists, almost five.
