The silver is the most versatile of them all and I think it will look awesome with a bracelet. I love that it is not completely silver but has a golden-ish hue under certain light.
Noticed this watch after it sold out, youre a lucky guy getting one. Thanks for the great review, you've given me a nice overview and a real world perspective on how it looks and wears. Much to think about.
My favorite watch is the Serica 4512. One of the aspects i love it's the squariness. I love square watches and it just gives me that square vibe while being round too. This seems like it's PERFECT companion. Both with 20mm lug width, from french brands too, same price, gorgeous movement. Yeah I'll get this. Now i just have to look for a dive watch to complete my trio.
Haha thankfully the square is for you! Different taste but that’s why there are so many watches out there hope you like this one and that the perfect diver isn’t too far off
Looks great!! I think when the crystal is sapphire, the effort will be made to mention that, so I'm guessing not sapphire. At that price I would definitely want sapphire though.
Great looking watch and thanks for pointing out the flaws. I saw this coming out and was also impressed with it, but it sold out the first day! So it's likely that if a viewer were to go and buy one now, they wouldn't have the number written on it. For me the only serious flaw is that the text is a bit low, as you stated. I take no issue with the logo being crowded out though and I prefer the logo to not be obvious. I personally like the sub-seconds being simpler, I think it would have been too busy with a deeper circular etching going by other watches I've seen and had. By the way, hesalite doesn't need AR coating at all huh? It's only a consideration on sapphire and mineral crystal watches it seems. One question since you brought up the sound, which I found interesting. Is the micro-rotor particularly loud? How is it compared to the Lobinni?
Hopefully you can get one once they restock it is a pretty cool watch. I think that hesalite doesn’t end up needing AR but I don’t know if I’ve ever consciously put that together. The rotor itself isn’t too loud, not nearly as bad as some of those from miyota. Maybe a tad louder than the lobini but by a very small margin
@@theknightswatch Thanks for coming back to me! Incidentally I looked around Baltic's website, it looks like the logo is low on all their watches. It's a brand signature I guess. One more thought on the overall look I had since I passed by the Longines boutique yesterday and saw the Spirit on the window, a wonderful watch (sadly too big for me). This Baltic watch has some resemblance to pilot's watches in terms of case, which makes it a bit less formal I suppose. I don't want to overthink the categories because I think that's mostly fluff and the loss of formality in culture means dress watches can also be casual, but there you go.
Yeah good point about them refining that case design. I’m comparing it to the HMS-001s that we both know. I had that in my cart the morning it came out, then dithered about which color, by the time I was maybe making up my mind, they were gone. Anyway , rambling here. So great review and even those minor imperfections you showed were among the more insignificant ones compared to some watches you have exposed for poor QC. I absolutely loved both of those suede strap options you showed it off on. Great review and also yeah. Even the macro of that movement caught me off guard. Much better than expected. Even the edges of the bridges looked decent. Best review I’ve seen of this. 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Too kind! This watch was a pleasant surprise since after the hms-001 I wasn’t too thrilled by the brand. But they definitely stepped it up! Look forward to what they do in the future. Maybe my perfect, less square baltic will exist one day.
@@theknightswatch after being in this obsession for only two years now, I’m finally coming to the conclusion that there just is no “perfect watch”. Maybe that’s why we love the hobby. And Xavier, I forgot to mention: the fact that you actually had the other watch with that movement is just crazy. Big props to your channel
I really wanted to love this watch ! This was my second salmon Baltic, and although the finishing was excellent the movements made them feel cheap. My other Baltic was the salmon HMS. I sold them both. Both were beautiful though. The straps could be better as well.
@@chia-mingyang5804 I semi disagree. Their HMS 002 is $400 with a Miyota 821a. There are plenty of examples of other watches at the same price point using higher quality movements.
I really love this watch and you did a fantastic job of reviewing all aspects of it. I will say that I also had the Hamilton Khaki and sold it because it just wore much to large and I attributed that to the very large dial area and small bezel and the 47mm lug to lug. The Baltic in contrast has a smaller dial and larger bezel and a perfect 36mm diameter and 44mm lug to lug. I missed out on the first release but am looking forward when they offer more.
Thanks for watching. The Hamilton definitely wears very large for a 38 and that was really unexpected for me since I usually find 47mm lug to lug watches to wear really well. I think you’ll like this one on wrist. Hopefully not too long before they restock!
I'd like to see a two-hand version of it. Drop the small seconds, have all the indices. No second hand. Make it even plainer and dressier. Make it a sapphire glass.
This watch uses the Chinese made Hangzhou Cal 5000 movement and the Hangzhou watch factory also produces tourbillon movement too. When compared with the Japanese movement manufacturing industry and the Chinese product chain is more complete, it can be clearly felt that Chinese watch factories are investing more resources in movement research and development.
You could put a watch in there but I just use it for straps. Just look up watch strap organizer on Amazon and you’ll come across it. Mine is by a brand called pacmaxi
If this was an aliexpress watch it would cost 200$ So you pay an extra 400$ for movment finishing and a "French" branding. Not worth it even with a micro rotor movement. Plus the movement might not be durable, it's still a mystery. It's like a Pagani watch, many good specs for the price that don't add up to a great quality, cohesively designed watch.
The watch is indeed beautiful, interesting and seems very well made for this price point. However, I'll never buy one for a simple reason: The Chinese movement. I am not talking about its inherent qualities, or relability, or finish. Maybe it is a good movement. I am talking about the trap we all fell for in the Western world: At first, they produce cheap copies and no one cares for it. Then, European or American companies start locating manufactures there because of labor costs and the possibility of increasing their benefits. Then the Chinese start learning and copying our technology. They provide Western brands with engines, batteries or in this case watch movements that are improved but still cheap. Western companies assemble the final product, keep marketing and sell to oblivious Western customers thinking they have "value for money". But don't get fooled: In the end, these companies will disappear, we will lose the know-how and the happy customers will lose their own jobs because they wanted to save a few bucks in the first place. I am French and I don't see Baltic as a French company. They (and their customers) think they are clever and they sort of are for the moment. We are all digging our own graves folks.
This is an original movement though and not a clone. I also think you're seriously undermining Chinese industry and ingenuity. The perception is there partly due to history but for decades now they have been making amazing supply chain innovations that put what we're doing here in Europe to shame. This seems like a cope to be quite honest. Same thing that was said for Japan after WW2 until they joined the first world in the 80s and then became a 'prestige culture', which shows how nonsense the concept is.
I hope brands make more 36mm watches.
Same here!
Youre reivews are complete and SO accurate. I think you mentioned everything I though after owning the MR01.
The silver is the most versatile of them all and I think it will look awesome with a bracelet. I love that it is not completely silver but has a golden-ish hue under certain light.
Thanks for noting the dirt. I watched many reviews of this watch and you're the only one that noted this, which actually is an important point.
Thanks! Not going to hide things that are there

Thanks for watching. It’s a very cool watch but thankfully it wasn’t a limited run so it’ll be back at some point!
Those high polished numerals look striking as they tie in with the case! Killer.
Agreed! They really got the numerals right on this

Great review. I appreciated all of your insights on this model.
Exceptional and informative review. Many thanks
Watch looks great, and it's a beautiful looking movement. Thanks for the video!

Baltic is an amazing company! If they ever release an Aquascaphe with a Swiss movement for around a thousand bucks count me in !
Beautiful watch
It' stunning like Patek. Great job from a micro brand.

Stunning piece. Also that grey suede strap complements the watch very well. Was the strap stock or purchased separately? thanks!
Thanks. The grey suede is from the brand fluco
If this had sapphire and a black (or even cream) dial option, I'd already be wearing it.
My favourite channel 💖 Allah bless u sir , ameen
I'd like to see a two-hand version of it. Drop the small seconds, have all the indices. No second hand. Make it even plainer and dressier. Make it a sapphire glass.
So a completely different watch then.
Nice. Is this Salmon or Silver dial? Seems silver in natural light but salmon in artificial light?
Sorry for the late reply, this is the silver
Great review, thank-you!

whaoh what are the wall mounted watch holders you have?

is there a ghost date position? nice watch.
Nope no ghost date
Baltic claims the screws are heated, not painted (they commented on Instagram when someone asked)
Well not the best my favourite is the Aquascaph GMT but I would still buy the MR01 it's simply beautiful
I love it ! But... 5atm... And no sapphire glass for this price range. Hmmm. I'll stick with my Bambino for cost performance.
Just get the Lobinni version. Same movement, but with double sapphire glass instead of Hesalite.
Domed Hesalite fits the aesthetic better IMO.
Will be available for pre-order from January 20th 2022 for 20 days.
Best part is they used a $100 Chinese movement inside and are charging $600
Looks like kikuchi nakagawa
Hangzhou sounds like hang-joe. Silent Z. It's the city in China where they male them

If only it came in an adult size.
I have no idea what you are seeing, that not fare you trying rate a $600 watch like a patek
Man stop complaining about the case, is not blocky, just cut it.
If someone cut the case it would be less blocky you’re right
