Great footage some lovely Pollack a couple of local marks i fish look exactly like where you were and they are only fishable at low tide and about 2 n half hours into the flood b4 getting cut off, they use to produce Pollack and coalie as big as those you were reeling in on the regular now your doing well if you get one that size every other session its all fish around 2lb maximum and i really don't know if its over fishing in the bay or something else??? Shame
loving the vids, just got the mrs into lrf and had 3 4lb pollock from beadnell last week. shes now hooked! was thinkingh of taking her to eyemouth next weekend.
It's all part of fishing in my early yes. It was a beast! it was snagged for a while and when i came to land it, the leader snapped and the fish dropped on the rock, i went for net and it was gone with the next wave. Glad yo like the vid.
Yes i did have great time in Eyemouth. I want to go back sooner rather than later. The people were great . Check out The Contented Sole Bar/ Restaurant. Its great. The owner is so welcoming. Fantastic fresh food too. All fresh seafood at silly cheap prices compaired to Edinburgh etc. Thanks so much for getting back to me. Maybe we can swap messages regular or indeed meet up at some point. Steve in Fife.
fishing fanatic north east Good going mate! look fwd to watching your vid. what's it like up there at the moment? thinking of heading there for an early evening session
Stonking video but two things, get yourself one of the inflatable life jackets before the unthinkable happens , I once had a river bank section collapse under me and I had to swim 200 yards in a spate to a bank low enough so I could get out - not funny! Secondly, check out a match fisherman’s collapsible landing net handle , the ones meant for carp, they’re very tough and some extend to 4 metres, pretty useful for some of the places you fish. 😁👍🏻
Glad you liked it and thanks for the tips. Sounds like you were lucky to get out! I definitely need a landing net and have been looking at the telescopic rock fishing nets, they pack down really small, which is important for the areas I fish
WOW! That mark was THICK with big pollock. Have you been back there in the six years since you made this video? I'm very curious as to whether this spot typically holds extra-large fish or whether that particular day was an exception. Best, Chris (in Maine, USA)
Forgot to mention, on one trip back there was a huge pile of dead pollack in the carpark from a guy who'd spearfished them all. Seems he wiped the local population out 😢
great vid,do you fish round the pipe/crab hill area of whitley for Pollock ?.often here of nice ones getting caught of the pier/castle rocks area.never fished for them but thinking of getting a spinning rod ect to have a go
+longsusan it depends which species you're targeting, coalies and mackerel are normally near the surface but pollock and cod are near the bottom. Fish slowly near the bottom and a bit quicker nearer the surface. hope that helps
Great fishing there and support C&R keeps thelocal stocks good for all. Looks like the gullies fill up quick, how long do you get before being cut off? Are there no high water marks there?
thanks for the comment. it depends on the size of the tide but normally about 1.5 hours either side of low tide, there are plenty of high tide marks as well. I just didn't have the time to keep fishing
+Slippy Limpets some nice fish there Nathan. Where were they when we tried st abbs though! is this just at the golf course? going to eyemouth caravan park in a few weeks and will be taking the rod for a sesh!
+James fox thanks mate, some times they're there and some times they're not :-) Yeah it was behind the golf course. I've never fished the caravan park side but they say ut's worth a shot.
Unfortunately the place I got them has closed down, I just surviving on what I've got left. if it helps, they're made by an American brand called Slider.
+Slippy Limpets Cheers buddy, that does help as I've seen some for sale with that name, not that I need anymore to add to the collection I already have!! Tight lines 😁
Benji Linsdell It's one of the marks behind the golf course at eyemouth. Summer is the time to go for the best action but there are a couple fish about at the moment. Thanks and glad you liked it 👍
Slippy Limpets I'm gonna share your vids in a group I'm admin on, on Facebook. rigs n bits Newcastle if ok. should join m8 we would love to see your vids

It's the same at this mark now, but that's because a spear fisherman emptied it of pollack. I saw a pile in the carpark behind his car
loving the vids, just got the mrs into lrf and had 3 4lb pollock from beadnell last week. shes now hooked! was thinkingh of taking her to eyemouth next weekend.
thanks for your comment. it's great sport up that way and lrf makes it really accessible. tight lines!
That is one hour of fine fishing, nice work sir.
Looks fantastic! I must give that a good go! Great videos keep em coming👍
Fishing Scotland thanks bud glad you like them!
Some great fish there! And fair play for showing us your failures as well. The first one you lost looked like a beast.

The vids are great - keep it up! But maybe you should stop publicising how awesome Pollock are, leave them for the few of us who know!
+kilburncounty. I was kind of hoping that my vids might help promote catch and release fishing, not just the fish I find. Glad you like the vids
All for c&r - good stuff.
Great Video. Music pairs well with it too. Im fishing in Eyemouth next week and cant wait.
Cheers,
Steve in Fife.
Thanks for your comment Steve. Sorry for the late reply but I hope you had a good time in Eyemouth and got plenty of fish!

Slippy Limpets me and the mrs just fished eyemouth and she's landed a pb pollock of 6lb 12oz. vid to follow soon.
fishing fanatic north east Good going mate! look fwd to watching your vid. what's it like up there at the moment? thinking of heading there for an early evening session
Fair play man, that was comedy gold watching you trying to keep your feet dry and land the pollack lol.
Haha Rob was thinking exactly the same 🤣😂🤣
I'm a course fisherman who loves rock and some metal and I fuckin loved every second of that coolio
Haha, does that mean you're going to move over to the light side of fishing?
@@SlippyLimpets defo going to give it a go and my daughter 27 and newish fisherwoman is well up for it cheers pal 👍

Seems that my first trip was an exception. Been back a few times since but not had as much luck
@@SlippyLimpets What a shame. Big pollock put up one helluva fight no matter which side of the Atlantic Ocean they're on! Keep up the great work.
Forgot to mention, on one trip back there was a huge pile of dead pollack in the carpark from a guy who'd spearfished them all. Seems he wiped the local population out 😢
@@SlippyLimpets That's AWFUL! Spearfishing fans have a right to their share of the resource, but wanton waste like this is INEXCUSABLE.
Another great video. Nice fish as well
thanks mate, glad you liked it
Bangin tune . Did you know covid 19 was coming?🤪🐟. Love your videos. I'm new fishing in North Berwick
Haha! I was a bit early I think! Welcome to the sport.

I've not tried those area's yet but I know people lure fish them and get fish so worth a try
ill give it a go,just just ordered rod-reel and braid plus soft platics, worm hooks ect,do you fish them down near bottom ?
+longsusan it depends which species you're targeting, coalies and mackerel are normally near the surface but pollock and cod are near the bottom. Fish slowly near the bottom and a bit quicker nearer the surface. hope that helps
Gutted did you get pinged on a snag when the rod was battling that fish about halfway through the video??
Is fishing weasel loch any good
Great video mate, shame you didn't get a bit longer on there
Thanks David glad you liked the vid, I would've preferred longer but then, to coin an old cliché, that's fishing :-)
seen all your videos . would love to learn from you .. and like to join you for a trip in eyemouth LRF. Hope to hear from you ..
