As I recall, Carson would flip out when Robin Williams was on. Robin had the honor of being invited on Carson's final episode, along with Bette Midler. Ratified atmosphere.
So, I read through most of the comments here and I don't think anyone has mentioned this yet. Yes, Kevin is funny and yes, his impressions are very very good, and yes, he made Johnny laugh hard and that was always a good thing (think Don Rickles and Rodney Dangerfield for example). However, no one seems to have mentioned how gracious Kevin was here, answering Johnny's questions , not missing a beat and he came across as simply a truly nice guy. That is a RARE thing in Hollywood and/or the entertainment industry. Would you agree?
This is where I learned this trick and trot it out at parties once in a while. This is the ep when the Great Placido Domingo (sitting next to Pollak) did Carson a favor by singing close to him so he could get an idea of how it felt to hear an opera singer standing right next to them. So he puts his hand on Carson's shoulder, sings the first line of Bella figlia de amore from Rigoletto, and Carson crosses his eyes while his mind is being blown.
He not only does terrific impressions, but has really funny material as well. That “rubber face” description is what I always felt about Jim Carrey, when he did Clint Eastwood.
Peter Falk lost his right eye at the age of three to eye cancer ,rare but normally when very young children have eye cancer the diseased eye has to be removed.
Wow, I just happened to watch Kevin’s previous appearance yesterday and now this upload. Kevin is amazing. I’d say he’s underrated, but he’s had his share of amazing roles in very famous and successful movies.
I liked him in Grumpy Old Men & Grumpier Old Men. Great Columbo impersonation. LOL I can to that eye thing too but I just look forward and move my left eye in and out. haha OMG I'm a freak.🤣🤣
Pollak is one of my favorite character actor comics. One of my favorite roles of his was as one of the cut-throat alien businessmen in the old Disney World attraction Alien Encounter. Somehow all the mannerisms translate through all the makeup, it's fantastic.
I'm 68 now, so I grew up with Gorshin, Byner, Frye and of course, Rich Little - all terrific impersonators but WOW!! Pollack just may have them all beat! Amazing!
As a teenager I taught myself how to do the Falk eye. First you go cross-eyed and then begin trying to move just one of your eyes away from the middle.
LaMarche should be on the Mt. Rushmore of impressionists/animated voice-over Artists. Although he has a sizable, very loyal following, he's relatively unknown to the general Public. Glad you mentioned him.
Yeah, Carson indeed _was_ horrible at impressions which would only be further highlighted when he insanely insisted upon rendering _repeatedly_ his desperate take on things while in the company, no less, of comedians who were generally fairly well versed or skilled in this area
One of the few comedians that can really crack Johnny up, haven't seen Carson laugh so hard in a long time.
Kevin definitely came prepared. Johnny also used to crack up to Rodney.
@@jam1ga But Carson and Rickles had the best interactions. Remember the cigarette box incident?

Pollak is terrific! A great actor and a funny guy who is under appreciated.
..a funny guy WHO is....
@@janvanveelen You’re right of course. Thank you.
Agree
Kevin Pollack is one of the most talented guys in Hollywood from comedy to serious he can do it all !!!❤
I saw him live in Boston in the 90's and it was truly epic.
So talented, loved his impression of Columbo and Jack Nicholson

Kevin does a fantastic Christopher Walken impression too. His impression of Walken going trick or treating (from his stand-up routine) is hilarious.
I miss when late night TV was good! Carson will forever be the GOAT! Kevin Pollack is amazing.

I can do the eye trick without even trying.I have a lazy eye so it's always wandering off
@@mikemahoney6840 Show off.

One of the most underated comics😊
This is gold, just gold.
He got the hands and those eyes!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
My gosh he’s terrific!!
Never knew that Pollak did impressions, but his are as good as anybody I've seen.
He's, fan famous, on the Bob &Tom show for his impersonation of Christopher Walken 😂😂😂
Hilarious
Better than anything on tv in 2024
Wonderful! Love these guys!

That’s coming prepared, Kevin 😂😂😂
Kevin Polack is ridiculously talented
Delightful segment.
His Christopher Walken is Hilarious.
Does a great Capt. Kirk as well, his "bread & butter" act.
@@MarvinThiessen
He talks about watching a football game with Shatner,
"Stick 'em" lol
Search for, Walken by Kevin Pollak or the channel, ‘Only on Tuesday’.
It's 7 min laugh fest of Pollak doing Walken on an old radio show.
It didn't matter how many times Pollak said he was from San Francisco, Carson would ask him again where he was from every time Kevin was on the show.
Yes! In the first interview he asks him right after Kevin Pollak says "I'm originally from San Francisco".

Kevin in the land of the giants!
Man o man, Pollak is damn good.
Kevin used to have a podcast chat show that was real good, wish he would bring it back.
Kevin is hilarious 😂😂

How about Travelina? ;)
Thanks for posting that. too bad Johnny wasn't around when Kevin perfected his Christopher Walken impersonation.
Placido Domingo was like "Who's Peter Falk?"
Kevin was great. Sure miss those days.
Rev Jim was right on
Quality. Nuff said.
Kevin Pollak ! San Jose Reppin!
Ok cool, Kevin is still alive.
That’s what I always think. They only show people who have recently passed. I had to google kevin.
He & Larry Miller KILLED on David Steinberg's Inside Comedy
Larry Miller, very underrated comic
Lv him..hes awesume
I thought it was Jim Belushi in the thumbnail.
I was waiting for him to break out the Shatner... Pollak does Shatner better than Shatner does Shatner!
Damn! He didn't do Shatner or Christopher Walken.
Yes
As a teenager I taught myself how to do the Falk eye. First you go cross-eyed and then begin trying to move just one of your eyes away from the middle.
The funniest part is Kevin's suit. Looks like he bought it off the 1980s Sears rack..
Looks even more ridiculous due to Pollak's diminutive stature...knew he was small but didn't realize that he was practically a dwarf
We’ll cross the t’s and dot the… lower case j’s.
Is there is anyway you can post The Poseidon thing spoof with the mighty Carson arts players? I have been trying to find that clip for years.
Kevin Pollack has always been one of fav actors/comedian. Loved him Wayne's World 2 - ua-cam.com/video/9vvMKxDvAt8/v-deo.html
Leno! Woah!
The only person to best Kevin's Peter Falk impression is Maurice LaMarche. Kevin's impression is a bit too cartoony.
Casey Kasem did a pretty good impression too.
But I like it.
LaMarche should be on the Mt. Rushmore of impressionists/animated voice-over Artists. Although he has a sizable, very loyal following, he's relatively unknown to the general Public. Glad you mentioned him.
Johnny’s impression is horrible. He sounds like Bogart. Falk wasn’t nearly so guttural. Pollack gets the mid- and high-ranges right, which is key.
Yeah, Carson indeed _was_ horrible at impressions which would only be further highlighted when he insanely insisted upon rendering _repeatedly_ his desperate take on things while in the company, no less, of comedians who were generally fairly well versed or skilled in this area
Forgot the head bobble for that no talent Leno.
Is there the Video of him doing Peter the First time on Johnny???
