Kasey refuses to be pigeon-holed as a country singer-songwriter, instead she uses other genres of music to influence her writing; if the song needs some jazz/blues she'll instil that feeling onto country or rock, or maybe into a ballad. Music must meet it's needs to capture and survive. I would encourage you to react to Kasey's own songs.
