I think probably you were thinking of DeeJay Young who also has a really high tenor. Most recently he was in their cover of Michael Jackson’s The Way You Make Me Feel, but he has been in several. J was in Valhalla Calling. J also can go quite high but not as high as Mykal and DeeJay can. I always love their theatrical pieces because we get to see just what good actors they are as well. In addition we usually get a little more involved set and costume design which is always fun. They really are all around performers !

I still have some stuffed animals I got in the 1960ies. And I have moved a lot. Recommend to havevthe captions on a VoicePlay/Geoff video. The guys, like here, like to put som jokes in the captions. We will hear more from Mykal in another video, already recorded, but not released yet. He as a high tenor couldn't take much of Geoffs lines here. Mykal was an original member of VoicePlay back in their high school days, but left for Broadway.

Cesar is Ed. I forget the third one. J. None did Valhalla Calling. Mykal has only ever appeared in Just Sing, but he is an og founding member of VP from when they were a barbershop quartet in high school (under the name 4theLove). He was the youngest, but he went straight to Broadway from high school.

Great comments! I think you see it for exactly what it is, in my opinion. The general consensus is extremely positive! Most people are really excited and happy. From what I have read, almost all the negativity comes from Chester fans and not Linkin Park fans. Obviously there have been many famous rock bands that have introduced new lead singers and there always seems to be a core of fans that just won’t accept the new change. I’m hoping that all of the hate and negativity will mostly blow over and we can all just enjoy the new direction of Linkin Park! 👍

I don’t know why this is just now coming up on my feed but you might check out their recent cover of Total Eclipse of the Heart with featured artist Ashley Diane. Ashley and Cesar are both originally from Puerto Rico and part of the song is sung in Spanish as it was apparently very popular there as a duet. It’s interesting to hear how different his voice sounds when he’s singing in Spanish. I really enjoy your reaction and commentary. I’m not of the right age to be a huge king of pop fan. Although I recognize that he was a genius it’s just not the music I ended up listening to all the time.. I really like the arrangement in that it’s paying tribute to the original but they’ve changed it enough so that it has a slightly different sound. To me that is the hallmark of a good cover. I want to thank you for putting in captions. I’m going to listen to a few more times and see if I can pick out more than two or three words in Spanish😂 but I really appreciate that you bother putting the captions on. I do watch reactions for people who don’t do that but I get a lot more out of it when you take that extra effort so thank you.

Buena reacción, quiero añadir a lo que dijiste en el minuto 07:00 en donde te referías a que no importa si tienes dinero cuando se tiene talento... yo añado a eso, que "el Talento no se puede comprar, puedes ser muy adinerado y no por ello te hará talentoso." Y es falso lo que dicen de ellas, recibieron muchos aportes y recursos de donaciones y aportes de sus fans mediante Patreon y otros mecanismos que las supieron invertir para llegar donde están, si bien los padres no eran pobres ha sido una banda traída de a poco con constancia, dedicación y mucha humildad.

Nice reaction. Your comments regarding the lights are interesting and of course it becomes a component of the entire piece of work. I agree with your comments on their background and how much of it is of any importance. It seems most of the arguments come from their home country and I don’t feel competent to address it except that good art can come from any level of society, and bad art also can come from the top or from the bottom. These ladies have worked very hard all their life and credit must be given. Thanks for the interesting ideas.

Great song. Ale has the lights on her bass too. The Warning are great ambassadors for Mexican music. They always promote it and I've learned about a bunch of Mexican bands from their comments in interviews.

The atmosphere is phenomenal. The makeup, costume and set evoke the original so well. But it's Geoff's arrangement and portrayal of Jack that makes this better than the original. Yes. Better.

Geoff's always adds so much to a song he covers. HIs voice, his acting skills, his arrangement and evry else, and especially emotion. It may not always what you want or expect, but he is never predictable. The song is perhaps a statement on how the richest people in society may still not be satisfied. There is an emptiness in their souls.

A friend sent me a link to Geoff's 16 Tons. From there, I found Voiceplay and I've been in love with both ever since. I've never seen Nightmare Before Christmas, but all the songs they've done from it are wonderful. My favorite is What's This?

I think Geoff (and this is my agreeing with someone else's comment) perfectly captures the manic of Jack.

Eli has been working hard, you can hear the difference with these later songs. It seems like the lower Geoff becomes, the higher Eli becomes. His rock tenor is truly amazing. A reactor that was listening to Valhalla Calling played several clips of female singers (Beyonce and others) and Eli was hitting those high notes.

Good comments! I love the original, and Geoff does it justice. His low notes shake your bones. He and Voiceplay never do a cover unless they feel they can bring something new to it. He (and they) give me a new appreciation of songs I thought I knew, and has made me visit songs I did not think I would ever like.
