Those recruiters are so desperate... Whenever I worked with recruiters (that were not associated with any specific company) in the past, they just wasted my time - juggling multiple candidates at the same time, they never care about you, they just want the referral bonus
Yep! Even if I land interviews, I still keep applying for jobs because the interview process can last at least 4 weeks! You also want something lined up in case a recruiter decides to move forward with another candidate or ghosts you because it will happen! Until you get an offer extended, anything a recruiter or hiring manager says is just corporate speak and lip service! I hope your interviews go well too dude! All we can do is just do our best and learn from each experience!

I’m about 1 month out of finishing my full stack web development boot camp and I’m scared for this job search with the current climate. I’m in the middle of finishing my employer ready portfolio and trying to get started in applying to stay ahead of this. Just hate that this timing has happened. Thank you so much for your videos.
I won’t lie to you, it’s a difficult time to be a new grad. But not impossible to find work! Keep looking, and don’t give up! It took me 3 months to get my first job and a lot of my peers didn’t find theirs until 6 months. Some even longer. Good luck to you!!
It seems no industry is safe from layoffs. As a newbie tech student, Im just hoping to learn where the safest place may be from everyone going through this chaos.
I graduated college in 2010 shortly after the 2008 crisis. It was very difficult but not impossible to get work, you will learn a lot and hopefully be well prepared for the next one!
Its wild especially for us people seeking for entry level positions with no degree, when all these people that got laid off at big tech companies are now looking for jobs. Just hoping and praying!!
I’m a junior engineer who’s at risk of getting laid off. I feel like I barely got any experience from the company and the tech interviews I’ve had were pretty rough. I’ve been doing lot of leetcode so I’ve passed most of the algorithm part but I kept getting rejected at the technical discussion part. Do you have any tips on what I could work on to have better understanding of software engineering?
just left a hack reactor(big reason why i follow you) and im looking for a job right now with little to no experience, hopefully I can get one with all these faang layoffs and engineers flooding the market
There are tons of startups out there, and many of those from FAANG would rather work for a company of similar size and reputation as the one they worked at. At startups you also get the chance to wear many different hats and figure out what you like to do.
I was out of work for several years in my 30’s with a wife two young boys/toddlers to support. The online process was horrible for me. I was able to survive for 13 years and piece together some temp work, small businesses, investments and stock trades to survive. I used a lot of my savings to pay the bills. I attempted to create a competitor to Twitter and Facebook however I could not afford the programmers for more than 13 months. If I had people who wanted to be owners, I would have been able to host the servers until we got traction. I believe I could have given some stiff competition to Facebook and Twitter as I do not believe their products are very good. Now that I am working full time I am considering trying it again as the social networks out there now are very crude and outdated by today’s technology standards in my opinion.
@@fenlandwildlifeclips I follow good investors, traders and businessmen and women. I also follow posts about health. There is not much hate in these productive and nurturing topics. If hate mongers want to communicate, it reveals them as a target for the authorities to consider surveilling. I would rather know how someone thinks, even a hater so that I can avoid them or be prepared if they are in my area.
@@TonyCassara It is noise because some people decide to follow noise. Others use social networking to follow growth, wisdom and truth. They can connect with those who help them grow.
@@JesseBarkasy I post wildlife shots but hate is definitely on the increase, not so much in the nature community but outside. Someone claiming to be Katie Hopkins turned up on Twitter for a few days, I think they've deleted the account again but whoever it was gained over 20,000 followers really fast! We need a socially responsible platform.
Could you just apply for another position or reach out to a recruiter at that well-known company you mentioned? Maybe they have another role open for you. Also as a rule of thumb, I only respond to first party recruiters. Third party are wastes of time.
I’ve thought about this since I made the video and I agree if you want to be private that’s fine, but using a cartoon version of yourself is suspect. Either all in or all out.

In fairness I know a guy who pays the mortgage on his house in Malibu referring people, but I think he’s the exception lol.

Thank you! I am not upset about being laid off, I am relieved.
those layoffs are going to occur within the next few weeks so that they don't have to give out christmas bonuses

Beyond more experience it sounds like you might benefit from system design study: www.educative.io/courses/grokking-the-system-design-interview
I’m sorry I know it’s a rough time for juniors but don’t give up!!
Also maybe listen to some SyntaxFM about new frontend tech to get “immersed” in the language / jargon so to speak. Steve and Wes are awesome!

Your coworkers need to move their holes in looking for another job, not be "taking a break," FFS. It's musical chairs at this point.

Social media in it current form is mostly noise, I’d love to see some change there! Good luck!
There's a big market now, especially with Twitter increasingly full of hate, but please put online safety & moderation first.

Haha you know I did and have been stuck in recruiter screen for over a week now.
I agree with everything, but the LinkedIn photo. That should be private as the resumes to avoid prejudice and maintain certain level of privacy.

Starbucks is hiring.....
Funny thing is fast food industry in Cali now pays $22 an hour after the new law passed. Yes this includes working at Starbucks.
They won’t be for long once the automated barista / cashier costs less.
I swear you Conservatices are weird asf . Knowing star bucks doesn't pay a living wage. Yall are backward asf and I pray that you continue losing
