Awesome video! 5-7 mins - perfect amount of time. I see a lot of RC guys doing 20-40 min videos for stuff like this and most people in today's world will not sit for that long for an instructional video. Thanks
that's kinda a tricky question. You hit the brakes to scrub speed ( like in this video) before the jump/up the face of it. You hit the brake if your nose is up when you're in the air. And you would hit the brake when you land if there is a sharp turn right after the landing ramp.
@@aaronsalais3477 to bring the nose down when flying through the air you tap the brakes. To make the car have a nice arc as it flies, you let off the throttle as soon as the car leaves the jump. if you stay on the throttle it's no big deal. Just ease off the throttle or tap the brakes while in the air.
What battery spec do you recommend. I just picked a b64 that comes with mamba x and 5700kv motor. I thought about 3s but might be too much power. I like to track it someday but for now just having fun around the parks and parking lot. Thanks in advance
EvanJayAwesomeRC thanks. Do you think all 2s standard lipo with the bullet connection fit the b64? I want to try venom due to price, otherwise I’ve thought of the reedy zappers. Asking because this is my first 1/10 buggy. I also own a Ae rtr rc8.2e.
Tau-outdoors yes, all shorty lipo batteries are pretty much the same size. make sure to get the right bullet connector. newer batteries can have 5mm while older ones use 4mm
EvanJayAwesomeRC thanks for the info. I’ll have to check the connectors before i buy the batteries. What kind of run time should I expect with batteries ranging from 4000mah- 5800mah. I run reedy 4s 4000mah on my rc8.2 and I get around 30 minutes. Not sure if its the same for the 2s. Thanks for making great videos I subbed
Consumers buy 1 car. Racers buy 6 cars of the same model. You'll need to put food in your mouth and you only have a chance to do that if you spend lots of money buying enough cars to pay for your time you spend driving RC cars. Any idiot can buy 1 car!
Good video bro. Try this next time you're out to whip the car - hit the jump, let off the throttle. Once the car starts its descent, the point where the nose starts pointing down, then turn the wheel. Turn left and the rear will kick out to the left thereby pointing the nose to the right. The longer you're in the air with the wheel turned the more rotation there will be.
I'm having my first RC car race in about five days. I am terrible at the jumps. The only thing I'm good at is maximizing grip. My RC car flipped a lot the first time I drove it on the track. I got sick of having to walk down and flip it back over, so I eventually learned how to keep all four wheels facing the ground.
awesome. let me know how the race goes. first, i would talk with your shop owner and some of the other drivers. It's anything like my shop and the shops i've gone to, they well be more than happy to help you out with car set up. second. I start with new tires / different tires. choosing the right combo is super important. i hope these two things helped. the biggest thing is talking to drivers at YOUR track. You can copy a pro set up or i could suggest things but the drivers there know what works and what doesn't.
@@traxxasrockhead It went well, I got second place in B main. I went there early and was able to take my time getting stuff figured out. Thank you for the advice, it helped a lot.
@@traxxasrockhead I'm just using the tires that came with my RC car. I have an arrma typhon. The other racers told me to start off with the RTR tires and switch over to better tires after my driving improves.

With buggy a good rule also is slam the brake jus b4 u leave ramp to fly through air nose down...faster overall
Yup. That could work as well.
that whipp from the neo byggy looks sweet.
Yeah it was pretty sweet.
JAY approaching and going off a jump in general, at what point should the brakes be applied?
Before, During or after?

@@aaronsalais3477no problem bud
Jay this is helping me a lot. Do I tap the brake, let off the throttle? I ask to make sure I am doing it correctly.

no problem, I'm glad you learned from it. ^-^
Where u at????
@jamesmooney7538 I'm right here. Lol but I know what you mean. I haven't driven my cars in months. Just haven't had time. Sorry man.
What rc car is that?
it's the Team Associated B64
Gotta get one!
Thank you for making this video Alan we appreciate the tips and tricks that you provide
Not a problem 👌

i'm a fan of 2s, it's what the pros use and it's plenty of power for me. I personally use Orion and Reedy batteries and can't complain

Tau-outdoors i would say 12-18 min if you run it to the voltage cut off (6.8 volts)
Nice i wish there were more videos like this to learn how to actuallg drive and nkt just bash flat landings.
yeah, i've been meaning to make a part 2. I like these type of videos too.
Great material. Us newbies can use this stuff
Charles Jensen that's great to here man^-^

I thought whipping only worked on 4WD? I'll try it out though. Thanks!
nope, it works with 2wd as well. yeah give it a shot, just don't break your car. lol
It's doable with 2WD. But 4WD gives you a lot more control in the air.
Super helpful. Thanks.
Thanks. Great demos! Keep them coming.
Thank you very much
Even though im a basher, this video helps me a lot
Lol I'm a year late but I'm glad this was able to help you.🤣
3:17 wait, that is legal? I dont race but i watch a video of some dude getting upset b/c he "cut the track"
yeah i just used to show how to whip.

And 3:16 has got to be the SiCkEsT whip I’ve ever seen!!!
I tried scrubbing once. The guy behind me went full power and my buggy got catapulted over the jump.....😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
xrayracer1 lol that's funny. Hope your car didn't break

Nothing broke, but it was a definite WTF moment.
xrayracer1 I bet ^-^
Lol did the same thing
