Oh I love how you said death adds a sense of gratitude and appreciation of the moment....thank you for sharing this whole video...many deep and valuable ideas.
Very sorry to hear about your mom's health crises Hyden. Prayers and good wishes. Hamza and my daughter went through something similar last year when I had a sudden stroke.
I hope you & your mom feel better. That is definitely very scary. I can relate as i also experienced a similar situation recently. For me the message was that love is all that matters & everything else kind of gets thrown out the window, & yes you do have a reflective wake up call as to where you may be putting your focus, & of course there is reflection of that relationship & individual as well. You sound like an empath who mirrors, regarding mimicking symptoms/ pain in the same area of those around you. I have experienced the same thing. With death there is definitely an attachment to the people & stories & identity. I think your perspective on the value of each moment is great. And regarding death, there will never be enough time spent with a loved one- No time is enough- not even if you had 100 years with them. With some relationships it's complicated because you may have a desire for it to be more loving but in this reality it isn't & with the ones it is loving with you may not want to lose that love/ connection. Maybe you can step out of your comfort zone & expression some affection while you still have the chance with your mom- i get how you may feel though & i understand that dynamic where not everyone is open with expressing their love; & it's great you can have that open, affectionate relationship with your gf, rather than suppressing that.
I'm still working on it. I think my first response was to avoid it, but I have been slowly sinking into more with time. I have been working a lot since my mom's hospitalization, so I haven't had the time to really sit, relax, and process the underlying feelings that are currently present.

Question: How are you handling the anxiety?
